so Michael Bublé christmas special, AIWFCIY is one of the songs off the setlist, and Ariana Grande is one of the featuring guests [on the show]. would they dare it?  Would they need to get approval?  They need approval to perform it on TV, yes. I don't know how much knowledge Mariah seeks before giving approval. Having said that, Grande has been trying to separate herself from the Mariah comparisons for awhile now so I don't see her performing a Mariah song. And I agree with Leigh that Mariah's look is probably why she has never let SJTD see the light of day. Its that the St. John The Devine concert? I never got to see that. How many songs did they air of her singing? I read she did Oh Holy Night but was it aired? Honey I don't remember the setlist!! But yes, it was St. John the Divine. I remember JTTW, and I think Jesus! Born on This Day (we sang that song at my grammar school's christmas concert that year, so I could be mixing memories too - I was in first grade haha). I also DISTINCTLY remember there being footage of her at home, bc she lived in Bedford then, not far from where I grew up in Westchester (so I was dying at the proximity lmao). The only troubling thing to me about the stuff Cohen reveals is Mariah not wanting to discuss other females. Why is she so insecure in regards to other females? What would be the purpose of bringing them up  They aren't writing, creating, or producing music together; they are not onstage with her performing during a regular show or special, etc. The only reason to bring them up would be either for shade or criticism and Mariah has time for neither. |

^Because maybe she is trying avoid drama and saying anything negative about other females that can create controversy or something else the media and Wendy Williams will cling onto. If you can't be completely honest about how you feel about other females, why even comment at all? Mariah might not honestly like or care to like most of the current females that are out today. If she doesn't praise or say anything remotely positive, then she will be criticized.
Just like with the recent interview with Aretha Franklin, when they were asking her about how she felt about some of these current female acts like Adele, Alicia Keys, Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj. She said Taylor wears nice gowns(which some people consider shade), and she didn't have any comment at all on Nicki Minaj, which again seems like she was being shady.
Mariah is just trying to avoid those typical uncomfortable questions she knows gossipy minds want an answer to, especially by someone like Andy Cohen, who loves to create drama, which would be questions concerning Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, etc.

I think insecure is the wrong word. I think interviewers just don't know how to ask her a question in a manner that is worth her answering. I mean if you look at her response in say the Breakfast Club interview when they ask her about Ariana Grande starting a question off with How do you feel when they say Ariana Grande is a young Mariah? I mean wouldn't you be offended receiving a question like that, and I am sure she is going to misdirect her anger at Ariana because it is a continued thing where she is called a young Mariah. They knew to ask it that way because it will illicit a shady response. I think most people ask Mariah particular questions to get the shade from her because she is the Queen of it after all.

Don't blame her, "Butterfly" is my 2nd favorite song by Mariah of all-time. NO ONE can do those runs she does on that song. Its so intricate and unique. That climax and the way she's belting those vocals...Lordt have mercy! She sure had me fluttering through the sky.
