Gosh, INFINITY premieres in 5 days. I am so excited, I just entered the contest to receive front row tickets to the show. I am considering going Memorial Day weekend even if I don't win...

Unfortunately, Google Books doesn't have any 1990 and very few 1991 issues, so I'll have to start with "Emotions." If anyone has physical copies of those missing issues, or knows of another place to find them online, it'd be much appreciated. Some stuff may get cut-off so I can stick to one image per article, but I promise not to exclude anything Mariah-related. There was no "Singles Spotlight" column published the week that "Emotions" reached No. 1 - but wasn't Paul Grein a dapper young sir? ;) #5: "Emotions"Album: EmotionsFirst Reached No. 1: October 12, 1991Chart Run (courtesy of MariahDaily): 35-26-17-11-4-3- *1*-1-1-2-7-18-33-15-23-28-37-37-38-39 Replaced: "Good Vibrations" | Marky Mark & The Funky BunchReplaced By: "Romantic" | Karyn WhiteOh wow, it hit #1 on my birthday! I was new to this country too...I had recently arrived to the US(in a raft[yes I'm Cuban], mind you) that May. That said, Mariah did not get my attention until the following year when I'll Be There came out. Been a lamb ever since. lol Good times...

I don't mind that song replacing Emotions at #1 at all.

I am looking at some of the old Billboard columns now, too, and I just saw that "Fantasy" sold over 200k in its first 3 weeks. Wow. That single was huge. In its 10th week at No. 1, OSD was still No. 1 in sales (10th week, also), with 83K (which BB described as a "commanding lead"), and it was bulleted on the sales chart. In its 13th week at No. 1, BB mentioned that it sold 64,000 that week (No. 2 in sales). In its 15th week on the Hot 100, it rebounded 3-2* in sales. In its 16th week at No. 1, it dipped back to No. 3 in sales. No mention of Sony stopping pressings in any of the columns- if it had, I imagine it would have dropped more steeply, as "I'll Be There" did when pressings ceased. The October 28 Hot 100 Singles Spotlight mentions that the commercial single for "Fantasy" was cut. Maybe that is what I was remembering; give me a break since it has been 20 years! ;) "Fantasy" was #1 in airplay the week "Exhale" sold 125,000 copies to boot it from #1, while "Exhale" was #15 in airplay. The deleted commercial single could have affected that result, and it surely prevented "Fantasy" from being on the Hot 100 in general for a longer amount of time.

Well...Google Books has more gaps than I realized, so I've gotta skip "Dreamlover" + "Hero" Sorry, I was hoping this could be a more all-inclusive nostalgia-filled countdown, but I'll give ya what I can find. Won't all be today, but I figure that gives some time to discuss/reminisce. #9: "Fantasy"Album: DaydreamFirst Reached No. 1: September 30, 1995Chart Run (courtesy of MariahDaily): *1*-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-4-4-4-5-6-8-7-12-13-19-23-23-29-37-42-47 Replaced: "Gangsta's Paradise" | Coolio ft. LVReplaced By: "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" | Whitney Houston

Does anyone know the truth about Mariah and Cindy Berger??? According to a tabloid (in touch type) Cindy left Mariah because Mariah "supposedly" isn't prepping as much for her Vegas gig as she wanted her too and not taking advice about some other professional things as well. It also said that Cindy doesn't think she's doing enough to take care of her voice and all Mariah keeps saying is "It Will Be Ok Darling". LoL I they spelt it the way Mariah pronounces it though Dahhling.

The music charting in the 90s was amazing. Most of the songs on those charts are very well known classics... The 90s produced some DOPE music!

The year 1995 is one of my favorite years of music of all time! I had the "Waiting To Exhale" SDTK, "Gangsta's Paradise", "Daydream", "Runaway", Faith Evan's "Faith", TLC, Brandy...my god I can keep going and I'm probably forgetting 10 other singles/albums. What a stellar year.

Now Nick is pressed because Mariah is taking pictures with a real straight black male boxer not Brett Ratner or other gay guy Also She looks hotter than weeks ago.

Was there ever a week in the 90s when Mariah wasn't in the top 10? AMAZING!

Floyd Mayweather is a piece of shit, with a long, well documented history of misogyny and violence against women. Let Nick get pressed about that. Doubt he will, though.

Looking at the charts in 1995, Mariah-Whitney-Mariah-Celine-Mariah all charting back-to-back. Iconic. Certainly the longest stretch of female-led Hot 100, yes?

#11: "Always Be My Baby"Album: DaydreamFirst Reached No. 1: May 4, 1996Chart Run (courtesy of MariahDaily): 2-2-2-2- 1-1-2-2-2-2-2-4-5-6-7-11-14-17-20-20-22-24-26-31-31-32-42-41-41-43-44-48 Replaced: "Because You Loved Me" | Celine DionReplaced By: "Tha Crossroads" | Bone Thugs-N-HarmonyI didn't see a "Chart Beat" anywhere in the May 4, 1996 issue. It appears to be complete, so maybe it just wasn't published that week? Fred on vacay? There wasn't any mention of Mariah in the May 18, 1996 "Hot 100 Singles Spotlight", so I didn’t bother posting it. Jerry just talked about how “Tha Crossroads” was very sales-loaded (89% of its total chart points.) {May 4, 1996 - "Always Be My Baby" Hits No. 1} {May 18, 1996 - "Always Be My Baby" Falls From No. 1}

Puff Daddy & Ma$e Replaced By: "4 Seasons Of Loneliness" | Boyz II MenThere wasn't any mention of Mariah in the October 4, 1997 "Hot 100 Singles Spotlight", so I didn’t bother posting it. Theda mostly just talked about the coming storm of CITW. I just included a part of that "Downloadable Singles" article from the September 13, 1997 issue for the LOLz/"My, how times have changed!" Mariah's not a part of it at all. {October 4, 1997 - "Honey" Falls From No. 1}
