I'm not even gonna speculate this early because by this time last year, the only Lorde I knew was in the holy bible. :)

Contenders, album wise, include Arcade Fire, BeyoncΓ©, Eminem, Katy Perry, Pharrell Others that likely won't contend are Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears Contenders to come include Adele, Coldplay, Lil' Wayne, Kanye West

Does Adele have a date yet? When does the period end this year?

What albums are coming out between now and the nominations? Labels themselves don't even know what's coming out from June-September. The only June date we have is 50 Cent. This is his albums 4th of 5th release date.

Does Adele have a date yet? When does the period end this year? No date for Adele. U2 has delayed their album until 2015. The time period ends September 30.

BeyoncΓ© is obviously THE frontrunner right now, but in more or less the same way that 20/20 Experience was last year, so we'll see.

BeyoncΓ© is pretty much guaranteed to sweep the R&B awards. The question is whether or not she'll also be able to get some of the big categories too.

It all comes down to the recency effect: will voters go for an almost-as-good, but just-released album, or the perfect, but feels-like-a-distant-memory BeyoncΓ©.

It missed out of AOTY but IASF was far less critically acclaimed and its impact doesn't compare to that of this album. It'll be a shame if she takes home more grammys for IASF than Beyonce, but then again, the Grammys isn't exactly the greatest measure of the impact an album has had on the industry. Like soblu said, it will sweep the R&B categories, though I wonder if it will be classified as R&B or that new "Urban Contemporary" category.

I think she has album of the year in the bag- all she has to do is keep up with the hits and keep touring. The album changed the music scene forever and is her best reviewed album.

Alicia Keys is releasing this year I think, so I can see her giving BeyoncΓ© some competition in the R&B categories if her album is as good as Pharrell says/she steps her game up.

Does "Ordinary Love" by U2 have a chance for any nomonations, or has the eligibility period for it already passed? I didn't realize how great a song it could be for a Record of the Year contender.

It's looking to be a Coldplay and BeyoncΓ© extravaganza. Also, I wouldn't be shocked to see some "Frozen" nominations in the general field -- Album and Song and/or Record for "Let It Go," to be specific.
Songs that could be occupying some spots for the general field categories: -"Happy," Pharrell Williams -"Let It Go," Idina Menzel -"All of Me," John Legend -"Dark Horse," Katy Perry ft. Juicy J -"Drunk in Love," Beyonce ft. Jay Z -"The Monster," Eminem ft. Rihanna Maybe: "Timber," Pitbull ft. Ke$ha; "Wrecking Ball," Miley Cyrus; "Demons," Imagine Dragons

Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith could get some attention, specifically BNA for Sam and maybe some general categories for Ed.

BNA may be a boring category this year. I can't think of many that actually have good enough shots at making the final 5. I guess Ariana Grande could still get in.

Maybe: "Timber," Pitbull ft. Ke$ha; "Wrecking Ball," Miley Cyrus; "Demons," Imagine Dragons Did Miley's team not submit "Wrecking Ball" last year?

Is Hozier a thing in any way in the US yet? Maybe him for something too.

the new Coldplay album is insanely good from start to finish. But for some reason they seem to get backlash from the 'critics'.

She'll be lucky to be nominated. Ask JT. "frozen" damn near has the win on lock and I also see Pharrell getting the nom.
