Was anyone else a huge Stacie Orrico fan when they were younger? I played this CD OUT in the mid '00s. She was a Christian artist, but she was trying for mainstream success, so most of the Jesus references are subtle or can be taken in a secular context as well. (The most religious song is "Strong Enough," which is obviously about a relationship with God.) The album boasted two hits - "Stuck" and "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life," the latter being the one she's remembered most for. This album has actually aged really well for me. I'm listening to it now, and I still love every song. Shame she hasn't released an album since 2006.

'Stuck' and 'More To Life' are still good.

I bought this after loving "Stuck" - having NO idea that she was a Christian act, so I was totally caught off-guard when "God"/"Lord" kept popping up throughout the album. I'm not Christian (or religious at all, for that matter), so I was pretty disappointed at first; of course, it was totally my fault for not doing a bit of research on her before putting my money down.
that said, "Stuck" and "(There's Gotta Be) More To Life" are free of any explicit religious references, and some of the other songs are just so catchy, I wound up enjoying them anyway - and still do, to this day. :)
favorite tracks = "(There's Gotta Be) More To Life", "I Could Be The One", "Stuck", "I Promise"

I remember I bought this album thinking it was a secular album. To my surprise it wasn't, but I actually liked the gospel songs. My mom was pissed off because I sent like $20 on this album. LOL Good times. I actually knew of her because of the song and video Genuine. I like that album as well.

Great memories of this album! I remember the first time I knew about her was when watching the "Stuck" video on TRL. When I found out that she was a Christian, it made me identify with her more because I also grew up being of Christian faith. I instantly became a fan. I remembering buying this album, her first album, and the "Stuck" single from a bookstore at church. That was when I was going to church back then.
I had both of those albums on repeat during the Summer of 2003. "Tight" was my jam. It really saddens me that her career never took off big since then, and she never made any more albums after "Beautiful Awakening". She was a like a younger version of Amy Grant.
