The aspiring actor in me is curious  There was an audition. They were looking for different character types, and mine was "awkward white guy." lol It was an improv audition and we were asked a question and then had to dance. I know the casting director, so I asked him if he wanted it a specific way, he said "it's an awkward character so just be yourself." I was like "gee thanks." lol They told us "dance like you're drunk" so I just went nuts on the dancing part (I don't even remember what I did lol), and I was lip syncing along cause I heard the song so much at that point. I was one of like 2 in the room that they applauded for. On Sunday I got a text from the casting director saying I was chosen and to be in downtown Miami at 11:30am the next day. Someone from the set called me later that day regarding wardrobe. (The shirt was mine, but they didn't like my tie selections so they gave me that short ugly one). |

Austin Mahone & Becky G Break Up
Austin Mahone and Becky G have split, JustJaredJr.com has learned.
The 19-year-old performer has been busy promoting his new single “Dirty Work,” while the 18-year-old “Lovin So Hard” singer has been on the road.
JJJ hears that their busy careers and constant traveling took a toll on the relationship, so they are taking a break for the time being to focus on work.
Austin thinks the world of Becky, so we wouldn’t rule out a reunion in the future.
The duo has known each other for years, and confirmed they were dating back in March. Becky took to Twitter after the breakup news broke to assure fans she’s OK.

This guys career has been mishandled from day 1. Fans got tired of him promising an album every year since 2012 and still not delivering. Shawn took the fanbase Austin could have had. I feel his time has passed for the American market at least.

I Love the last few songs he's released.
Especially the 2 free one's he put on SoundCloud.
His sound is completely different from his free music to the songs he's released on ITunes and at retail stores.
Is this song out yet? I like it.

The songs are mostly slow jam R&B bedroom songs. Very different from how he started out. He's good at it though.

Honestly I like Austin but Shawn Mendes filled the next solo teen Pop male artist gap that Austin was trying to fill the last couple years. Then Nick Jonas has his "rebirth" as an artist. And now Troye Sivan is on the brink of making it big too in 2016. Austin missed the boat when it really counted. "What About Love" was a great start, than either he or his label made one bad decision after another and never struck while the iron was hot. What Shawn is doing right now is what Austin should have done, but it never happened.

So......yeah. These melodies are pretty damn good. But not good enough to cover what's underneath.  Well, "Hate to Let You Go" is a definite stand-out, and "Something So Real" isn't too bad either (Auto-Tune notwithstanding). Side-eyeing his use of Alicia's chorus for "If I Ain't Got You" and "Deep End" 's actual Titanic basis tho. |
