It seems like anything by Florida Georgia Line qualifies.

It seems like anything by Florida Georgia Line qualifies. I'm still not used to seeing you post under "buffalocountry". It's gonna get some time to get used to. Anyways, I enjoyed Florida Georgia Line's debut album when it first came out. It's good for what it is. Catchy, fun, upbeat country music. Like I said before, you better not leave us. I just picked Florida Georgia Line because of the comments posted by a lot of us here in the Country Forum. Am I to say that everyone hates them? No!

I loved everything by The JaneDear Girls but it seemed like I was in the minority there.

I feel a little like I'm confessing my sins, but ok here goes.
I really like Alan Jackson's "Country Boy". Probably my second favorite song by him. There, I said it. :) :) :)

Late Night Confessions and I have "some" shame...
1. Country Boy - Alan Jackson 2. Get Your Shine On - FGL 3. Boys Round Here, Hillbilly Bone - Blake Shelton 4. Bait A Hook - Justin Moore (I'll also admit to loving I Could Kick Your Ass and Back That Thing Up and everything else he's done) 5. Suspicions, Truck Yeah and Last Dollar - Tim McGraw. (All fun brainless ditties.. I do have some standards and loathe Looking For That Girl)
Please don't kick me off the board. I do like quality country as well.....

I'm also an FGL apologist. Also liked all of Brantley Gilbert's singles to date, and all of Justin Moore's. Even "Backwoods" and "Bait a Hook".
I liked the JaneDear girls' first two singles, but Merry Go Round lost me.
Also liked Joel Crouse's debut.
And Blake's "Boys 'Round Here".
And "Bob That Head".
And "Hillbilly Bone".
And "Truck Yeah". And "Last Dollar".
And "Drink to That All Night".
Come to think of it, I think I'm in the minority a LOT.
However, I think I'll be safe in saying that NO ONE on Pulse likes "Ready Set Roll". We've finally achieved consensus!

^ I liked "Last Dollar" and "If You Want Some". I used to hate the latter but it did grow on me last summer.
I will say both songs would have been better if it wasn't for the "Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha" in Tim's and the usage of "Epic" in Joel's.

I also seem to be the only person here who liked all four of Thomas Rhett's singles. "Something to Do With My Hands" wasn't amazing, but I liked it enough; "It Goes Like This" was pretty clever IMO; and I don't get the complaints about objectification in "Get Me Some of That".

"We are Never Ever Getting Back Together" I still jam to that.
and
Pretty much everything on Scotty McCreery's first album. And even half the users on here hate his 2nd album so far.

"It Goes Like This" has some of the most un-clever lyrics I've ever heard. And how can you not understand the objectification in the latter song? He's referring to a woman as 'that,' which is totally classless.

Forgot about WANEGBT. I liked that one because of how bubblegummy it was. And how can you not understand the objectification in the latter song? He's referring to a woman as 'that,' which is totally classless. To me, the "that" implies the experience of being with her more than the woman herself.

I'm pretty sure in the cultural vernacular "Get Me Some of That" refers to having sex with anything attractive, no matter what person is attached-pretty much on par with "I'm gonna get a piece of ass" (can I say that here ;)).
And who coined the phrase 'money-maker'-so, so demeaning-means nothing more than a woman using her body (mostly referring to buttocks I believe) to make money. And it kills me that it seems acceptable to country music for the Bros to use that phrase; even though they are in general just using it to refer to a nice butt.
As someone previously said-even after Beer With Jesus, with this song Thomas Rhett is dead to me for now.
Having said that, Ten Pound Hammer-NO judgement on you for liking the song (that is the theme of the thread after all)-I like plenty of songs for the 'feel' of the song, damn the lyrics. I believe we are just trying to explain exactly why there is no doubt this song objectifies women and has very distasteful lyrics to many women. David Nail's song "Whatever She's Got" may allude to the same thing but does it in a more tasteful manner and at least leaves room for the thought that it isn't just her 'money maker' that he 'wants'.

Most people at the ACC Top 40 message board didn't like "Watch the Wind Blow By," but I thought it was ok.

Confession: while I don't really identify as a fan or go out of my way to hear her music, I've liked almost every Taylor Swift song I've ever heard.

Not sure if other Pulsers have heard it, but it's FGL so I feel it's safe to assume y'all don't like it or haven't heard it. "Never Let Her Go", it's from one of their EPs before their debut album, I think if they had more songs like this and less like "Shine On", they'd be liked a lot more on this board lol.

Cruise- Florida Georgia Line
Point At You-Justin Moore
My Best Days Are Ahead of Me- Danny Gokey
Red Solo Cup-Toby Keith
I'd like to include a woman in this list; but so sad there are so few I can't think of a song that fits this thread! I guess a few Taylor Songs.......Romeo and Juliet, You Belong To Me

I also liked Danny Gokey's debut, but how "I Will Not Say Goodbye" wasn't a hit will forever elude me.
