Thanks for posting the charts. The YouTube one is from last week, so that one must not have been updated.

Thanks for posting the charts. The YouTube one is from last week, so that one must not have been updated. Youtube is kind of a quirky chart. I am thinking about not posting it in the future. I am beginning to think that although they post it every week, it is not a weekly chart. There are weeks where the chart posted holds all 25 positions the same as their update. This time they may have chosen not to update at all.

The top 10 on the Hot 100 has basically been what the top ten on iTunes has been, so people can't blame radio for the static state. It is mainly a lack of anything new being released that's exciting or by a big name. I mean radio has been quick to jump on Sing cause it has been one of the first new songs to get much attention. Lana will spice things up a bit next week. But most of the songs outside the top ten just aren't all that interesting or fresh right now. Hell, a lot of them are songs that have been around a long time and already been in the top ten. I can see why the top ten hasn't been changing much. Hopefully now that summer is coming we'll finally get a slew of interesting new music. That's a great point, though the two go hand-in-hand a bit. As in, if some other songs got more airplay/exposure, maybe they would sell better. Is the streaming chart less stagnant?

Will it go 8 more week at #1 to tie mariah or 9 to break mariah and boys to men record? If not, who do you think will take it? -katy perry -Ed sheerAn -john legend
My money is on john legend for a week and back to happy and then queen katy will complete the "happy" "birthday" cheese fest. You know billboard is ready for the corny joke...

Why am I am the only one who thinks birthday is going to flop? Remember unconditionally? No way that birthday is going to reach top 10.

I agree, what you have is a hit but #1 is not automatic.
I know it seems that way so far that anything released goes to #1 but that won't happen that way forever.

I think Birthday is a catchy song but I can see it stalling even before top 10. Probably not tho

I think Katy's label is very aware of her chart accomplishments and will make sure it goes Top 10.
Unlike Unconditionly...

I think Katy's label is very aware of her chart accomplishments and will make sure it goes Top 10. Unlike Unconditionly... Especially after Uncle Deshawn Ali which SHE pushed for. To think she's have a consecutive top 10 streak without that track. I do think Birthday will hit #1 but not because it's amazing (which it is) For the same reason why Happy is #1 for so many weeks the timing is everything. At the moment it only has All of me which won't have enough longevity to block Birthday when it peaks and the ed sheeran song... It's been a strange time where for some reason there seems to be very little competition going on. I honestly thought more would pop up this moment in lieu of summer smash season but it is what it is.

I don't really like the falsetto sound Katy is going for on that Birthday song. I think it'll have a high burnout rate, at least for me & I could see myself switching the dial whenever it comes on. Of course, many a song I've disliked have gone on to become hits.
For some reason, Sheeran's falsetto doesn't irritate me as much and I could see Sing being a huge hit. JT's "Not A Bad Thing" is also probably headed for number one as well.
