The second song he performed on SNL last night. If you missed it, or want to catch it again, the performance is already on NBC's website. This, is the song that's instant for me from X. I love the almost casual way he sings this, and that hook hung in my head last night. For what will be the studio version of this, Wiki lists five co-writers in addition to Sheeran: Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Benjamin Levin, Ms. Monét, Dawn Robinson, Raphael Saadiq. I'm having trouble finding confirmation for that, though. It's also apparently co-produced by Benny Blanco and Rick Rubin. Considering just the performance is already blazing hot, I'm very eagerly awaiting this. {But wait...there's more!}In my attempt to track down confirmation on the writing/co-writing, I came across a host of rumors that apparently this is about Ellie Goulding cheating on him with Niall of 1D. Frankly that's just w/e to me, and y'all can make of that what you will. But still...

Excellent. Despite liking "The A Team," I wasn't all that into him before. I'm really anticipating this album though.

Those other co-writes could mean there is a sample involved. That didn't dawn on me till after I went offline for a bit. It's easy to not think of samples when they're not quite as common as they used to be.

This is really good. I think I like this even more than "Sing."

I wish he performed a classic, beautiful acoustic ballad as a follow-up to Sing, but this was pretty good.

Okay, I don't know if it'll hold up since "Sing" certainly deteriorated since my first impression of it.
But I LOVE this too. His best song? Catchy af.
Also, dragging or not, Ellie owes Ed a big thank you for this simply for demonstrating another dimension of what I've long assumed was her missing personality.

I caught part of his impromptu SiriusXM outdoor performance on-air today, and he said this was the next single.

Strangely, I think this sounded better on SNL - the studio version sounds a bit over-processed by comparison. No matter - if this is to be the next single, then:

This is listed in the Hot Picks for CHR radio, so I'm moving it.

I'm interested in seeing how well this song will do. I love it, but it actually might be a little too understated.

I was kind of hoping this song would go a little harder than it does. I love it, but it could have been better. I can feel the Taylor Swift influence in this. It's like he learned how to properly dispose of those who have wronged you.

Ugh, what's up with me liking two Ed Sheeran songs in a row? This is a great song as well- I actually like it better. I'm personally not a fan of his falsetto and he doesn't use it nearly as much in this song.
