I've heard so far: Style, How You Get The Girl, Shake It Off, OOTW, Welcome to New York And this last one, it's the only one i dislike, or not dislike, maybe not love, like the others

Can't find one good link to the leak. I really don't get the big deal at this point, but damn her team and fanatics are good.

I Wish You Would is a masterpiece. The production is incredible.
I want a full Jack Antonoff produced album next.

"Blank Space" - Um, f**k yeah? Love it."Style." - This'll be the album's biggest hit if it's released. "All You Had To Do Was Stay" - The repetitiveness in this song really works well. The production on this is fantastic. "I Wish You Would" - Love love love love this, and I love the voice memo for this, too! Jack Antonoff killed this. "Bad Blood" - Biggest disappointment for me. Maybe it'll grow on me, but it's pretty weak, especially lyrically. "Wildest Dreams" - Completely agreed on the Lana Del Rey comparison. This song is gold -- I love it! "How You Get the Girl" - What an 80s Pop jam. "This Love" - The "All Too Well" of this album for me. So haunting. Beautiful. :'( This is the kind of music I absolutely f**king love from her. "I Know Places" - I was getting bored through the first verse, but then the chorus kicked in. Wow. "Clean" - Filler. "Wonderland" - The "eh, eh, eh" vocals are pretty grating, but otherwise, this song slays. "You R In Love" - Ugh, why the spelling? I hate it when song titles have spellings like that. The song is pretty, but kind of uneventful. It's just there. Not a standout for me in the slightest. "New Romantics" - JAM! One of the best songs on this album and one of the best songs she's ever made. The production on this album is absolutely killer. Complete modernization to 80s Pop. This album is a step down in lyricism overall for her, but I'm enjoying this a lot.

I'm loving the album! Taylor has never disappointed me. The album is stacked with quality songs but only a handful of them should be singles. I can see the era going something like this:
1. "Shake It Off" 2. "Bad Blood" / "Out of the Woods" 3. "Bad Blood" / "Out of the Woods" 4. "Blank Space" 5. "How You Get the Girl" / "I Wish You Would"
"Bad Blood" isn't my favorite song on the album by any means, but it seems like an inevitable single along with "Out of the Woods". Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't really hear the hit-potential in "Style". It has an amazing chorus that really stands out, but the verses aren't clicking with me as much.

Classic Shade 101. Those that know Others are left Flawless execution but she better not try to back down when sh!t hits the fan tho. Katy does have Rihanna in her corner who is the Murder She Wrote of cluing in on BS.

The starting trifecta of Blank Space, Style, and Out of the Woods is just immaculate. I can't critique the rest of the album because those songs have garnered repeat listenings and the others got only a twice run-through.

Finally got to hear it. I always listen from beginning to end, the songs I already heard and everything. I like albums that work as a full body of work, and I agree with her that this is her best album by far. She may have better individual songs, but nothing that works collectively as well as this.
I think she and Max Martin balanced each other perfectly, basically better than I would have ever imagined. Taylor-style lyrics are still there, maybe not as overt, but the cleverness is there. Meanwhile, sonically it is so cohesive and mainstream but still different and new and not same-y. Quite a balance.
Really impressed. I loved a lot of Red, but I hated going from I Almost Do to 22 back to All Too Well, or whatever the order is. I never get that feeling here.
It's pretty crafty how in one way, this is her mainstream pop album and yet there's a maturity to the whole thing. You wouldn't necessarily think the two go together.
Best tracks imo: Blank Space, I Know Places, Wildest Dreams, New Romantics (on first listen anyway)

F**k it! I want How You Get the Girl released next! It is hands down the best song on the album, absolute pop perfection, and possibly the catchiest song she's ever done! This HAS to be a single at some point!! If they HAVE to wait, it's perfect for spring/summer.

Surprised no talk about the voice memos on the album, acoustic Taylor at her best. More and more listens and you will love this album even more. Yes agreed it is her 2nd best album after "Speak Now". Best Tracks-"I Know Places","New Romantics" and "Blank Space". While "Red" had a few missteps,This album has none at all.

I decided to listen to the leak, because I've been on the fence about whether I wanted to buy the album based on the promo singles.
I'm so glad I did - I will definitely be buying it now.
The album is not without its faults, but overall it's really enjoyable to listen to. It's a great pop record, and will most certainly be another massive success for Taylor.
I'm going to listen to it a few more times before choosing my fave songs, but some of my immediate reactions are:
-1989 is a perfect title for this album, because you can hear the 80s pop influence big time, and I'm also surprisingly reminded of Rihanna on some parts -there's a few fillers but only a few -it's probably her weakest album so far lyrically because the focus was clearly on the production/sound, but there's still some great lyrics, particularly in the verses -in saying that about the production, it's great to contrast that with the completely stripped down voice memos. I'd love to hear an entire piano version of "I Know Places"
Taylor took some major risks with this project, and though it's not flawless, I'd definitely say the risks paid off. Really looking forward to this era now.

"New Romantics" should have been on the standard album. Big mistake there.

^ Agreed. I seriously can't get over how much of a f**king jam "New Romantics" is. It's growing to become my favorite song of hers, ever, and that's just off of a few listens from day 1.

People are thinking "Out Of The Woods" would be the next single since she is performing everywhere lately. As for album,This album sound even better when it hits Itunes in 2 more days. Even the lesser tracks on this album are great.Taylor's bonus tracks have always been good in the past and this album is no no exception to that at all."New Romantics" is the "The Moment I Knew" of this album as it is the best bonus track.

On first listen, this album is definitely more instant than Red as a whole. There are more standout tracks here. I remember when I first heard Red, there were a few standouts, but many tracks sort of just blend together, and the Max Martin tracks stood out oddly. Red was definitely more of a grower album.
Overall, surprisingly, I really enjoyed 1989. It is a good, cohesive pop album from start to finish. Absolutely LOVE the production on the album. I was let down by SIO, WTNY and wasn't crazy about OOTW either, but they turned out to be some of my least favs on the album. What are the odds? lol
Based on initial listen, tracks I LOVE: Blank Space (single please!) Style Wildest Dreams How You Get The Girl (single please!) This Love Wonderland (should be in regular album!) New Romantics (should be in regular album!)
I can live without Bad Blood and You R In Love. IMO, Bad Blood is her weakest track here, by far.

"Wildest Dreams" needs to be a single at some point. It is her "Summertime Sadness".
