What a great introduction to Leah Turner! If this EP is any indication of what she's capable of, I sure hope she is able to make it big and put out a full-length release, because I am already very impressed. "Beat Up Bronco" in particular is just a beautiful song in all aspects -- the other songs are solid, but that one really stands out. Her voice and style is refreshing and I am really enjoying what I'm hearing so far.

Fantastic EP. I too love "Beat Up Bronco". Such a great ballad that really shows me a vocal performance that I didn't know Leah could pull off even though I love her raspy voice. "Bless My Heart" is also great and another single worthy song if you ask me. Of course "Take The Keys" was one of my favorite single this past year and "Pull Me Back" is getting better with each listen.
Good God I hope she and Columbia can hang in there and get a single in the top 20 so this wonderful woman can give us a full length album.

I also really enjoyed these songs. Her debut single came out pretty quickly after Sony signed her and I'm not surprised...they weren't gonna keep this girl sitting in the pipeline for too long, not with catchy stuff like this.
Some of it is a bit over-produced but she's got a strong enough and distinctive voice that it doesn't really matter too much. The songs themselves are very pop/rock in nature but I also hear some country instruments. Definitely very contemporary...at times she still reminds me a bit of "Lesson In Leavin'"-type Jo Dee Messina, and that's definitely not a bad thing! ;)
I only listened through once, but I definitely liked what I heard. It was my first time hearing "Pull Me Back" and I hope that one is a hit, although it doesn't sound quite as immediate as "Take The Keys", so I have to admit I'm a bit worried. But Columbia seems to be really behind her so hopefully they can get her up the chart. Both "Bless My Heart" and "Beat Up Bronco" sound like potential singles.
We are sorely lacking in female artists at the format, and Leah is definitely one of the most promising newbies in the last few years, imo. I wish her all the best!

This is great! I'm glad to see that "Beat Up Bronco" is a standout to a few others. I find myself gravitating back to that one a lot. "Bless My Heart" is another really strong one.
