Minimum airplay??? In what world is Pitbull receiving MINIMAL airplay??? They don't feel forced to play his music, almost every station starts playing him automatically, how many people who actually listen and request is the problem! And also in what world is outselling Bionic and Lotus an accomplishment? And why would they play it for that fact? And if Pit had such a loyal fanbase, then why aren't any of his albums selling anymore? Why aren't they requesting and listening to it on radio??? His music has been pretty overplayed 90% of the time, including Timber (just because it missed #1 means nothing, it was played 5 times every half hour ) Now I do agree he is a better digital sales artist than airplay, but the airplay did help him reach top 10. What records has he broken, what trends has he set, what makes him legendary, many artists reach top 10 with "minimal airplay" and nice sales, so what makes him special? Why do you keep bringing up Christina? (whose been around since the late 90's and is considered one of the most talented singers of all time who has sold more singles and albums than Pit will ever...) XTina and Pitbull shouldn't even be compared, they don't even have the same genre of music, that's like comparing apples to oranges, you just can't do that without having a connecting factor... Sorry just your posts really get on my nerves and I'm tired of you complaining about Pit's songs, even though he is actually doing really good! I like Pit, but geez! You... -_-

charismatic, I quite seriously don't know whether to hit you or kiss you. Is "Problem" looking like a surefire top 10 entry?

cumulus Pit is a legend! He has sold 50 million singles with minimum airplay and his CDs Planet Pit and Global warming were great sellers. Both outsold Bionic and Lotus, yet they didn't get the massive airplay either, but luckily Pit has built a strong and loyal fanbase that buy his music and inevitably radio feels forced to play his songs whether they like it or not. His music has never been overplayed and timber was never number 1 on the radio either, but now Timber is getting a nice recurrent airplay because radio didn't play it too much. His hits make the top 10 mostly thanks to the sales not the airplay,. Hotel room service peaked at 8 on the billboard, but it never went top 10 on pop. For that reason he is legendary, because he had proved us that despite he gets little radio support, that doesn't stop him from getting nice sales. With little he does a lot. What happened to Aguilera when pop radio stopped playing her songs? Flop after flops.

You better hope Pitbull is outselling an artist who has been around for 15 years. But considering Christina's stripped album alone outsold Pitbulls entire album career, I would take a seat and just enjoy that radio treated him kindly. The fact that Pitbull "barely" outsold Christina's last two albums with ten times more airplay and promotion and you are using this as a pro for your argument is amusing though. If Christina had Pitbulls airplay her album would've sold 3 or 4x more than his.

charismatic, I quite seriously don't know whether to hit you or kiss you. Hahaha, I'm just stating the truth though. I mean, cumulus said that 'Say something' was going to block Timber because thanks to Christina, feel this moment was top 10 despite she came out from Your body and Just a fool. Now cumulus says that Wild wild love is flopping because Christina or another known pop star are not singing the hook. So my question to her, Birthday is not doing well because Juicy J is not featured? Eminem is also coming from The monster, why Headlights is not smashing then? Wild wild love is a digital hit like all Pitbull's songs, with the sales I don't have any complain, because his loyal fan base is doing their job. My complain is with radio, because they see it smashing on itunes but they only give it +0.2 AI. So, Radio needs to show more respect to the legendary Pit. 13 years of career without payola, say a lot of his natural star power. :'(

Radio does not give out impressions, AUDIENCE DOES! If people are listening RADIO WOULD FREAKING PLAY IT!!!!!! Wild wild love has always done great in spins. Most of the time it has gotten over +100 spins daily, but the audience impressions have always been poor. For example: +150 spins +0.3 AI So the fan base has been requesting too, so what's wrong with radio? if it was flopping on itunes, I wouldn't be saying anything, but it's happening too many times already. Back in time suffered the same fate despite it went top 4 for weeks on Itunes US.

Again, flawed logics coming from a deluded poster.

Say something was performed in all the TV shows (with the highest audiences in the US.) Before Big time world performed it on the Voice, Say something was flopping at 198 on Itunes US. Not even Christina fan base could put it in the top 100 on Itunes before that massive exposure. Thanks to the Voice, 'say something' did something because before, nobody was paying attention. Feel this moment, was a bigger worldwide hit though, it doubles the views on Vevo. P.S: Wild wild love is gold already in the US and it's still selling. This week will have its best sales to date.

At the end of the day, SS was a much bigger hit. Higher peak in the US and other major markets and will get nominated for awards.

Back in Time went PLATINUM here (not too much of a digital hit if it barely scraped 1 million) and it STILL made top 15 on pop radio, don't get what you're complaining about here...

Same with the Voice, they sang it in the finale when it's was done on the radio. Feel this moment made the top 10 on the billboard thanks to the Dancing with the stars promo(Even Holiday posted that FTM got a boost because Pit alone was promoting it in a Dancing with the stars commercial)/also the video came out during that time. Great timing. But Christina only performed it with him at the Nick awards, and the audience out there is not that high in comparison to the voice.

If the audience was not listening how the song is 16 on itunes while songs with higher impressions are in the 50s/60s? Remember audience impressions mean sales. If Pit can get a top 16 with +0.2 AI with the airplay that gets birthday, wild wild love would be in the top 10 by now. ;)

All I'm hearing is excuses of why Pitbull didn't have a bigger hit, but if he had such a "loyal fanbase" why are all of his songs underperforming for you, if he was truly an untouchable legend in pop music, you'd think he would have no trouble scoring a epic hit, correct?
And about the promotion THAT'S HIS AND HIS LABEL'S FAULT! They're the ones who booked those dates, maybe he should've been wiser and more strategic when planning his promotion...

I'm just defending him over cumulus statement. He is trying to bring down his success, when he knows that the right timing plays a big rule in the peak of a song. I'm happy with Pit' success though. Everybody knows that itunes is the real chart that measures the real popularity of an artist, so I'm impressed that Pit is still doing well in this relevant chart, despite he has 13 years of career. So, I'm just letting cumulus know that if Pit paid payola, his songs would have higher peaks on the billboard, because with little airplay in comparison to the competition, Pit has always been an outstanding digital seller. Hey baby #1 on itunes for hours (72 million AI) On the floor #1 " (83 million AI) Hotel room service #3 on itunes (60 million AI)
I know you want me calle 8 peaked at #2 (when it had 50 million AI). Back in time #4 on itunes (62 million AI) Don't stop the party #6 on itunes (64 million AI) So, my question is why radio never give those songs power rotation when Pit needs them the most to peak high on the billboard? I have noticed that they always give him radio airplay, but not when the songs are selling high on Itunes and when he needs that airplay to get a top 10. With timber they tried to do the same, remember how Counting stars was getting the needed radio support to make the top. But this time, luckily Pit promoted it in the right time. Watch how they will start playing WWlove more when it's peaking on Itunes.

Oh okay! Thank you! :)
Some explanations for some of these songs (not necessarily justifying them being above WWL which I actually like!)
Birthday - Since Katy is a pop radio GODDESS, it's not really surprising that she's ahead, but her sales usually always end up rising to the top
Team - This song has peaked and is falling on both iTunes and radio
Na Na - Trey has always done wee on everything other than pop so not surprising his song is doing well on multiple formats that add up to more than Pitbull's one genre audience that he just started on...
Neon Lights - Same as Team
Automatic - Country plays anything and it gets this high, especially with Miranda Lambert, so again not surprising!
Let Her Go - Same as Team and Neon Lights
Partition - About to start falling, but was a BIG success mostly due to the surprise release and Beyonce's name
Demons - Same as Team, Neon Lights, and Let Her Go
Story of My Life - Same as Team, Neon Lights, Let Her Go, and Demons!
All of these songs have a reason for being lower than WWL on iTunes, and again Pit has just started so....

But yes he's had much success on iTunes! I wouldn't necessarily use the peaks of iTunes rather the overall sales because I feel that truly represents the success of a song. But some of his songs I will admit have been underplayed before, but today, I feel Pitbull's radio success has been pretty much equal to his digital success!

Charismatic is fangirling a bit too hard lol...don't you think that you don't have to defend Pitbull as if he was your family member close friend? You don't owe it to him and it's not like he's going to be any more or any less popular from your rant...he has plenty of people listening to his music so there's no need for you to start a heated debate about why he's more successful than Xtina or whatever. It's fine to be a fan of any given artist but you, my dear, just tend to take it too far. He is of no relation to you so even if someone disagrees with you about him deserving more radio play it's not something to get so defensive about, sweetheart.

I would say his radio success far outweighs his digital success. He's only had 3 or 4 songs reach double/triple platinum status, and all of the ones that did had a KEY feature doing most of the work (NeYo, Xtina, Kesha). Most of his solo songs barely do much in sales and airplay.

He's only had 3 or 4 songs reach double/triple platinum status, and all of the ones that did had a KEY feature doing most of the work (NeYo, Xtina, Kesha). Most of his solo songs barely do much in sales and airplay. That's not true. I like it 4 million (Enrique was coming from a flop, his biggest hit ever) On the floor 3.9 million (it got less airplay than Say something and outsold it too.) DJ Got us fall inlove (4 million, it's going to outsell OMG eventually and that song got more airplay during its run) Give me everything 4.9 million (Neyo's biggest hit to date too). Calle 8, over 3 million-It's still selling. All his successful solo songs have gone double Platinum. Even Don't stop the party went double platinum in the USA, so that song paved the way for FTM on the radio too. After get it started flopping, Pit saved the era with DSTP not FTM, because Christina came from 2 radio flops and he was coming from Get it started, so she was not the reason why FTM had a fast start either. It was the success of DSTP (A song with a big impact at that time). Do you think that after 'get it started' and 'your body' flopping radio would jump fast to play feel this moment? No. So, it was DSTP that one that recovered the momentum and sold the album too.
