Imagine if "I Did Something Bad" was released as the lead single from 'Reputation', instead of "LWYMMD"... 😔 She had like 7 other songs on that album that would have been way better singles than LWYMMD. She also made a terrible lead single choice for 1989 and Lover. She always does that.

Shake it Off is arguably her biggest hit, specially on Youtube so...
I also think LWYMMD was an okay choice. It's the two follow-ups that really derailed the era.
ME! Is crap tho.

^I would have loved Cruel Summer to have been already released as a single at this time. It would sadly be fitting to the current situation.

So... Minaj is credited for all weeks for "Till the World Ends" and "Say So," probably for the duration of the track's runs. *investigates*

Imagine if "I Did Something Bad" was released as the lead single from 'Reputation', instead of "LWYMMD"... 😔 This prospect lingers in my head every now and then. "Look What You Made Me Do" is ruined by its childish title line, and the song takes itself too seriously for its own good, which made for an awkward, kind of try-hard moment (in my opinion). Meanwhile, "I Did Something Bad" reminds me of "Blank Space" where she effectively owns up to how the media is portraying her, but with a genuine element of satire and self-awareness. Now that's a song where she nails playing the villain, while standing her ground on how she was unfairly harassed ('they say I did something bad'; 'they're burning all the witches even if you aren't one'). The production is great as well, and the whole song is brimming with strong lines. It stills follows the Taylor Swift principle of making the lead single something attention-grabbing and not necessarily representative of the album, but generates much more positive intrigue. The music video is iconic, though, and I think little would have to be changed conceptually. ( I know this is very off-topic to the thread, but well, I just had to get this off my system 😄)

Paul McCartney's Top 40 Biggest Billboard Hot 100 Hits By Kristin Corpuz 6/18/2021 Click to copy www.billboard.com/articles/business/chart-beat/7833898/paul-mccartney-top-40-biggest-hot-100-hits/In honor of Sir Paul McCartney’s birthday (June 18), Billboard looks back at his top 40 biggest songs on the Billboard Hot 100 as a solo artist and with his band Wings. With nine No. 1s -- outside of The Beatles’ record-holding 20 -- McCartney is no stranger to the Hot 100. His first solo appearance on the chart came with the release of the double single “Another Day”/“Oh Woman Oh Why,” which eventually peaked at No. 5 in April 1971. He went on to chart 22 more top 10 smashes, and a total of 46 hits on the list. McCartney’s biggest Hot 100 hit is Wings’ “Silly Love Songs,” which ruled the weekly chart for five nonconsecutive weeks in May, June and July of 1976. His No. 2 biggest hit is his chart-topping collaboration with Michael Jackson, “Say Say Say,” which spent six weeks at No. 1 in late 1983 and early 1984. McCartney -- an 18-time Grammy Award winner -- has also reigned on the list with further collaborative efforts. “Uncle Albert”/“Admiral Halsey,” his duet with his late wife, Linda McCartney, topped for one week in 1971; while “Ebony and Ivory” with Stevie Wonder spent seven weeks at No. 1 in 1982. McCartney most recently charted on the Hot 100 with three collaborations with Kanye West, back in 2015, and all of them reached the top 40 on the weekly tally. West’s “Only One,” featuring McCartney, peaked at No. 35; “FourFiveSeconds,” a joint collaboration with West and Rihanna, reached No. 4; and West’s “All Day,” featuring Theophilus London, Allan Kingdom and McCartney, hit No. 15. Where do new hits from 'Encanto' rank among the biggest smashes from multiple generations of Disney animated films?
The Disney soundtrack canon officially has its first new addition of the 2020s, thanks to the accompanying set for the breakout hit animated film Encanto. The soundtrack tops the Billboard 200 albums chart this week (dated Jan. 15), while also notching a pair of top 20 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 this week — with “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” (credited to Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz and the Encanto Cast) at No. 5 and “Surface Pressure” (Jessica Darrow) at No. 14.
But where do the two still-growing hits (along with other charting songs from Encanto) rank among the biggest-ever hits from animated Disney films on the Hot 100, including classics from ’90s Golden Age blockbusters Aladdin, The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast, as well as more recent favorites from 2010s hits Frozen and Moana? Enter Billboard‘s Greatest of All Time Disney songs ranking — the 25 biggest hits from animated Disney movies in Hot 100 history.
Our listing is led by “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” Elton John’s recording of the love theme from the 1994 Disney epic The Lion King. The song spent 26 weeks on the Hot 100 and peaked at No. 4, while helping the accompanying soundtrack top the Billboard 200 for 10 weeks and eventually earn a diamond certification from the RIAA. Just below it is another romantic ballad from the ’90s: “A Whole New World (Aladdin’s Theme),” performed by Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle, which became the only song from an animated Disney movie to top the Hot 100 in early 1993.
The biggest Disney song from the 21st century is found at No. 3 on our listing, with Idina Menzel’s rendition of “Let It Go” from Frozen. Menzel’s version of the song hit No. 5 in 2014 — while pop star Demi Lovato’s re-recording of the megaballad also reached the top 40, hitting No. 38. (Lovato’s version of the song ranks at No. 10 on our listing.) Moana, from 2016, also sees its main theme represented by a pair of recordings on our list, with Auli’i Cravalho’s version of “How Far I’ll Go” landing at No. 12 and Alessia Cara’s rendition falling in at No. 16.
Meanwhile, Encanto already appears with four different songs, led of course by “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” at No. 11. “Surface Pressure” appears below it at No. 18, and the top 25 is rounded out by “The Family Madrigal” (Stephanie Beatriz, Olga Merediz & Encanto Cast, new at No. 62 on this week’s Hot 100) at No. 24 and “What Else Can I Do?” (Diane Guerrero & Stephanie Beatriz, a No. 67 debut on this week’s Hot 100) at No. 25.
Take a look at our complete Greatest of All Time Disney songs ranking below, which we’ll update as the Encanto songs continue to grow.

Billboard’s Greatest of All-Time Disney songs ranking is based on weekly performance on the Hot 100 (from its inception on Aug. 4, 1958, through Jan. 15, 2022) and comprises songs that appear in theatrically-released films via Walt Disney Animation Studios. Songs are ranked based on an inverse point system, with weeks at No. 1 earning the greatest value and weeks at lower spots earning the least. Due to changes in chart methodology over the years, eras are weighted differently to account for chart turnover rates during various periods. Songs are ranked based on a formula blending performance, as outlined above.

It's wild that the Encanto songs are already that high. I guess fewer Disney songs have charted than I realized.

It's wild that the Encanto songs are already that high. I guess fewer Disney songs have charted than I realized. What really surprised me more than that was that there were only 2 Lion King songs that made this Top 25 list "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" which of course topped this list and "Circle of Life", Certainly "I Just Can't Wait to Be King" and yes "Hakuna Matata" both also felt like they huge enough songs in the US to technically have been able to rank in this Top 25 list, But of course because of Billboard's rules at the time, Those songs simply were not allowed to chart in the Hot 100 since they didn't also get released as Singles.

Well, even if Billboard allowed them to chart, they likely wouldn't have made the Hot 100. I doubt they had much airplay, and without a physical single they wouldn't have had the chart points to make a real dent.
