Thought that we needed a female artist in this thread trend, and who better than Trisha Yearwood. I saw her live a few weeks ago, and was blown away (again). She's probably my second favourite artist of all time. I like her songs that I listed as 'bottom', but they are my least favourite singles.
Top singles:
1. The Song Remembers When 2. She's In Love With The Boy 3. How Do I Live 4. Perfect Love 5. XXXs And OOOs 6. Everybody Knows 7. Walkaway Joe 8. Believe Me Baby(I Lied) 9. This Is Me You're Talking To 10. On A Bus To St. Cloud 11. I Wanna Go That Far 12. Thinkin' About You 13. There Goes My Baby 14. Where Your Road Leads 15. They Call It Falling For A Reason 16. Georgia Rain 17. In Another's Eyes 18. Wrong Side Of Memphis 19. Real Live Woman 20. I'll Still Love You More
Top Album Tracks:
1. Nothin' Bout Memphis 2. That Ain't The Way I Heard It 3. Little Hercules 4. Let The Wind Chase You 5. Standing Out In A Crowd 6. Pistol 7. Under The Rainbow 8. Not A Bad Thing 9. Fairytale 10. Victim Of The Game
Bottom singles:
1. Love Will Always Win 2. Better Your Heart Than Mine 3. You're Where I Belong 4. You Say You Will 5. Powerful Thing

TOP 1. Walkaway Joe 2. Georgia Rain 3. This Is Me You're Talking To 4. The Song Remembers When (super-close Top 4 here) 5. There Goes My Baby 6. Believe Me Baby (I Lied) 7. Wrong Side of Memphis 8. She's in Love with the Boy 9. Better Your Heart Than Mine 10. Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love 11. Powerful Thing 12. That's What I Like About You 13. Squeeze Me In 14. Like We Never Had a Broken Heart 15. Thinkin' About You (I keep forgetting about this song somehow)
BOTTOM 1. How Do I Live 2. I Would've Loved You Anyway 3. Love Will Always Win 4. I Wanna Go Too Far (way too restrained for its lyrical content) 5. I'll Still Love You More (I don't remember this one at all, and now that I've listened to it several times, I still can't remember it) 6. They Call It Falling for a Reason (sure, plagiarize Lee Ann Womack, why don't you) 7. XXX's and OOO's (not bad at all, just overrated)

Top: 1. Georgia Rain (total nostalgia of 2005 whenever I hear this) 2. Perfect Love 3. Everybody Knows 4. She's In Love With The Boy 5. That's What I Like About You 6. This Is Me You're Talking To 7. On A Bus To St.Cloud 8. Wrong Side Of Memphis 9. The Song Remembers When 10. Heaven, Heartache, and the Power Of Love
Bottom: 1. Love Will Always win (I love Trisha and Garth, but this just does not hold my interest whatsoever) 2. How Do I Live 3. Trying To Love You 4. They Call It Falling For A Reason 5. Walkaway Joe (This isn't a bad song, just way too overplayed for some reason where I live)

This is going to be tough because Trisha is in my top 5 favorites from the 90's. Probably top 10 all time, so after looking at the list of singles quickly I don't hate a single one, though there's obviously some that are weaker, I'd say they'd all still rank among the best singles if they were released at any time in country music history. This woman knew how to pick great material, and on the extremely rare occasions she picked only average material, she was always able to raise it higher with her performances. I can't wait to see what she'll do should she return to recording.
Top 10 Singles
01. Wrong Side Of Memphis - #5 02. Everybody Knows - #3 03. Walkaway Joe - #2 04. This Is Me You're Talking To - #25 05. The Song Remembers When - #2 06. Believe Me Baby (I Lied) - #1 07. XXX's And OOO's (An American Girl) - #1 08. Real Live Woman - #16 09. She's In Love With The Boy - #1 10. Where Are You Now - #45
Top 10 Album Tracks 01. One In A Row 02. Nothin' 'Bout Memphis 03. Love Let Go 04. Who Invented The Wheel 05. The Restless Kind 06. Victim Of The Game 07. Mr. Radio 08. I Did 09. Cowboys Are My Weakness 10. It's Alright
Bottoms 10 Singles (none of which are bad so i feel bad placing them here lol) 01. Love Will Always Win (Feat. Garth Brooks) 02. I'll Still Love You More 03. You Say You Will 04. I Need You 05. In Another's Eyes (Feat. Garth Brooks) 06. Powerful Thing 07. Inside Out (Feat. Don Henley) 08. Down On My Knees 09. I Wanna Go Too Far 10. You're Where I Belong

I remember first seeing Trisha live back when she was on tour with Travis Tritt and Little Texas (1993 I think). I came in not liking her and left being a huge fan. Thinkin' About You remains my favorite Trisha album, and one of my top 10 favorite albums of all time. I find it quite difficult to come up with a bottom five for Trisha, but there are a few I skip on. I'm only going to include singles from her own repertoire (so that excludes any of her duets on Garth's albums). Can you believe she only had approx. 35 singles (excluding features)?!? Crazy. I really miss her, especially her earlier music which I thought incorporated the piano to great effect.
Top 5:
1. Walkaway Joe 2. On A Bus To St. Cloud 3. She's In Love With the Boy 4. The Song Remembers When 5. You Can Sleep While I Drive
Bottom 5:
1. Powerful Thing 2. Where Your Road Leads
...and I could only come with a bottom two. I just can't add any other singles there as none qualify.
edit: being "On A Bus To St. Cloud" one of my all time favorites from Trisha, I always thought that although it was a brave choice to release, it would have benefited from a male voice either as a duet or a feature.

Thanks someguy for starting this one. I was beginning to think the same thing about the lack of a thread of this nature for a female artist up to this point, so I'm glad someone took the initiative to create one. Top01. Georgia Rain 02. I Would've Loved You Anyway 03. Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love 04. On a Bus to St. Cloud 05. This Is Me You're Talking To 06. How Do I Live 07. Pistol 08. Who Invented the Wheel 09. XXX's And OOO's (An American Girl) 10. Walkaway Joe Bottom01. Cowboys Are My Weakness 02. Love Will Always Win I only own Jasper County and Heaven, Heartache and the Power of Love and I'm not familiar with a lot of her singles (especially the ones in the late 90s). I need to listen to more of her work and eventually buy some of her older records, but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

She's definatley one you should probably dig deeper into based on your overall likes and dislikes, I can't see you not loving at least 80% of her material. :) On a side note have you ever explored Suzy Bogguss' work? I was listening to her earlier and I think you'd enjoy her a lot.

I was listening to her earlier and I think you'd enjoy her a lot. I imagine I would. I definitely enjoy her voice quite a bit, but I've found that it depends on the song a lot. There's a lot of songs in her catalog that I can't remember because I recall them being a bit boring to me, which is probably why Jasper County is my favorite Trisha record, because it's more uptempo. As for Suzy Bogguss, I am not familiar with her at all. I honestly can't even think of one of her song titles off the top of my head, so... yeah, not really someone whose music I know, lol.

Whoa, Suzy Bogguss...now there is some nostalgia. I love her...check out "Outbound Plane," "Drive South," "Diamonds and Tears," and also her version of "Cold Day In July." ...and "Aces" as well as "Give Me Some Wheels." I even own her Ray Benson produced album Swing from 2003 I think. Amazing underrated female vocalist from the mid 90's.

Trisha's probably my favorite female vocalist, and I love a great deal of her songs. She seems to be extremely discerning when it comes to selecting material. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to exploring her discography as much as I would like. I've heard a lot of her albums, but only once or twice, and the only one that I'm thoroughly familiar with is HHatPoL. So it's mostly singles for me, and I confess I'm not familiar with many of them offhand.
TOP 1. The Song Remembers When (Hugh Prestwood is money, and Trisha's interpretation is perfect) 2. This is Me You're Talking To 3. Walkaway Joe 4. The Dreaming Fields (Trisha Yearwood + Matraca Berg = match made in heaven) 5. She's in Love With the Boy (yes, nostalgia, but still to this day Katy's mother leaping to Tommy's defense is still one of the great, iconic moments in country music to me) Nothin' Bout Memphis Georgia Rain Believe Me Baby (I Lied) They Call It Falling For A Reason (love this uptempo) There Goes My Baby Perfect Love XXXs and OOOs Wrong Side of Memphis Real Live Woman
BOTTOM I honestly can't recall any offhand that I dislike. I'd guess I'd go with "Powerful Thing", but it's still a decent song to me. There's at least one duet with Garth that I find pretty boring, but can't recall the name.

Top: "The Song Remembers When" "Perfect Love" "Xxx's and Ooo's (American Girl)" "Believe Me Baby (I Lied)" "She's in Love with the Boy" "I'll Still Love You More" "There Goes My Baby" "Everybody Knows" Bottom: "How Do I Live" (I prefer LeAnn Rimes' version of this, personally) "In Another's Eyes" "Walkaway Joe" "The Wrong Side of Memphis" I'm mostly going by her singles because I haven't put on her albums in a little while. I remember Jasper Country and Heaven, Heartache, and the Power of Love mostly being disappointments for me. I tend to ignore what I don't like, so I can't quite remember song titles.
