The most classic example of the title of this thread is Crazy by Patsy Cline. That song was written by Willie Nelson and peaked at #2 in 1961. Here are a few more examples. I bet you can come up with a few. Ready?
1. I've Cried The Blue Right Out Of My Eyes-Loretta Lynn-Crystal Gayle-1970-#25 2. It's Only Make Believe-Conway Twitty-Glen Campbell-1970-#3 3. Pure Love-Eddie Rabbitt-Ronnie Milsap-1974-#1 4. Kentucky Gambler-Dolly Parton-Merle Haggard-1975-#1 5. A Love Song-Lee Greenwood-Kenny Rogers-1983-#3 6. Fancy-Bobbie Gentry-Reba McEntire-1991-#8 7. Today My World Slipped Away-Vern Gosdin-George Strait-1997-#3 8. My Give A Damn's Busted-Joe Diffie-Jo Dee Messina-2005-#1 9. Making Memories Of Us-Rodney Crowell-Keith Urban-2005-#1 10. Mississippi Girl-John Rich-Faith Hill-2005-#1

"Girls With Guitars" sung by Wynonna, written by Mary Chapin Carpenter "I Keep On Loving You" sung by Reba, written by Ronnie Dunn "Like We Never Had A Broken Heart" sung by Trisha Yearwood, written by Garth Brooks "Little Bitty" sung by Alan Jackson, written by Tom T. Hall ...other than the ones previously mentioned that's all I could think of off the top of my head I Always Get Lucky With You - Merle Haggard/George Jones - 1983 - #1 In that example, BOTH artists sang that song. Wouldn't the same to apply to both "Today My World Slipped Away" and "Its Only Make Believe?" Vern scored a top 10 hit with his, and Conway scored a number one (not on the country charts, though).

Here is a few more - some released to radio and some album tracks. I am only including the writers that are artists even if there are other writers on the song. A few have the actual artist as a co-writer. I hope that is alright. I.E. Miranda, Jennifer, etc.
Black Tears by Jason Aldean (Canaan Smith & Tyler Hubbard) 1994 by Jason Aldean (Thomas Rhett) The Truth by Jason Aldean (Ashley Monroe) When You Love A Sinner by Martina McBride (Kacey Musgraves) Better in the Long Run by Miranda Lambert ft Blake Shelton (Charles Kelley & Ashley Monroe) Heart Like Mine by Miranda Lambert (Ashley Monroe) Thank You by Jennifer Nettles (Phillip Sweet) I Do by Luke Bryan (Charles Kelley & Dave Haywood) A Little Bit Stronger by Sara Evans (Hillary Scott) You Got Me by Ashley Monroe (Karen Fairchild) Roll Me Back in Time by Sara Evans (Sheryl Crow) Where the Blacktop Ends by Keith Urban (Steve Warniner)

Terri Clark - The World Needs A Drink (written by Eric Church) Dusty Drake - Say Yes (written by Josh Turner) I shocked to find that Eric wrote that for Terri. Awesome song, severely underrated. I'm kinda surprised Josh Turner wrote something for someone else. I don't remember "Say Yes" but "One Last Time" is amazing. This was in 2004 before Eric got a record deal, so he only had a publishing deal then. Terri heard the song from down the hall when she was listening to demo tapes and requested the song so she could cut it. "Say Yes" was a top 40 single (#36) for Dusty in mid 2007 on Big Machine Records.

I could do this all day:
Kenny Chesney co-wrote David Nail's "Turning Home".
Jay DeMarcus co-wrote Chely Wright's "Jezebel". The corresponding album had two album cuts co-written by Brad Paisley.
Michael Peterson co-wrote Travis Tritt's "No More Looking Over My Shoulder" and sang backing vocals on it.
Keith Urban wrote "That Was Him (This Is Now)" by 4 Runner.
Joe Diffie co-wrote Holly Dunn's "There Goes My Heart Again" and sang backing vocals on it.
Alan Jackson also co-wrote Faith Hill's "I Can't Do That Anymore", Chely Wright's "Till I Was Loved by You", and three singles in a row by Randy Travis ("Forever Together", "Better Class of Losers", "I'd Surrender All").
Conversely, Randy Travis co-wrote Alan's "She's Got the Rhythm (And I Got the Blues)".
Members of Pirates of the Mississippi wrote hits for others: Rich Alves (Alabama's "Southern Star") and Bill McCorvey ("Lonely and Gone" by Montgomery Gentry, "I'm Not Gonna Do Anything Without You" by Mark Wills and Jamie O'Neal).
John Anderson has a co-writer's credit on John Rich's "Shuttin' Detroit Down".
Brad Paisley's first credit was writing David Kersh's "Another You".
Whisperin' Bill Anderson has written for just about everybody, including several in the past 20 years: Vince Gill ("Which Bridge to Cross (Which Bridge to Burn)"), Steve Wariner ("Two Teardrops"), Mark Wills ("Wish You Were Here"), Kenny Chesney ("A Lot of Things Different"), Brad Paisley ("Whiskey Lullaby"), Joe Nichols ("I'll Wait for You"), George Strait ("Give It Away"), and Sugarland ("Joey").
Thomas Rhett co-wrote Florida Georgia Line's "Roound Here", Jason Aldean's "1994", and Lee Brice's "Parking Lot Party".
Lee Brice co-wrote Garth Brooks' "More Than a Memory", Tim McGraw's "Still", and Jerrod Niemann's "Shinin' on Me" and "Only God Could Love You More". Jerrod Niemann co-wrote Garth's "Good Ride Cowboy".
Ronnie Dunn co-wrote Shenandoah's "Darned If I Don't (Danged If I Do)" and Reba's "I Keep On Loving You". Kix Brooks had several credits pre-B&D.
Terry McBride (McBride & the Ride) has dozens of credits, including a lot for B&D. Former McBride & the Ride member Ray Herndon co-wrote Kenny Chesney's "Me and You".
Skip Ewing has a ton of credits.
Teddy Gentry of Alabama co-wrote Shenandoah's "I Got You" and George Strait's "Lead On".
Randy Houser co-wrote Justin Moore's "Back That Thing Up". Randy and Jamey Johnson co-wrote the notorious "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk".
Jamey also co-wrote Joe Nichols' "Another Side of You", George Strait's "Give It Away", and Trace Adkins' "Ladies Love Country Boys" and "I Got My Game On".
James Otto co-wrote Jamey Johnson's "In Color" and ZBB's "No Hurry".
Uncle Kracker was one of the many co-writers on Kid Rock's "All Summer Long".
Toby Keith co-wrote Shane Minor's "Slave to the Habit", and Dan Truman of Diamond Rio co-wrote his "Ordinary Love".
Jimmy Olander of Diamond Rio co-wrote Kenny Chesney's "I Lost It".

I know Dickey Lee had a lot of credits, his most notable being "She Thinks I Still Care" by George Jones. Razzy Bailey also wrote Dickey's "9,999,999 Tears".
JP Pennington of Exile co-wrote "The Closer You Get" and "Take Me Down" by Alabama, and "Just in Case" by the Forester Sisters.
Sonny LeMaire of the same group has tons of credits, his most recent being "Fall" by Clay Walker.

I guess we are not counting David Lee Murphy and Rhett Atkins here? I was just thinking that. Here's a list of some of his songwriting credits: "Anywhere With You" - Jake Owen "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not" and "Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About" - Thompson Square "Big Green Tractor" and "That's The Only Way I Know" - Jason Aldean "Live A Little" and "Living in Fast Foward" and "Pirate Flag" - Kenny Chesney There are many more but I think he for sure qualifies here. His three album releases in the 90's were all great.

I didn't list his because he's been a songwriter only most of his career in Nashville since he lost his original record deal (other than the cup of coffee he had with Audium in 2004). But on the other hand I listed Cole Deggs. Certainly many have no clue who he is ("I Got More" by Cole Deggs and the Lonesome #23 on Mediabase in 2007)

That thought actually crossed my mind while I was listing his songwriting credits. I was thinking to myself, "Wow, there are people listening to radio now who have no idea many of the songs they are humming along with was written by a well established artist from the 90's." David has found great success as a songwriter, but I can't help but wonder if it was he who had the opportunity to release those songs if radio would be as accepting of them. The answer is probably not.
