Well at least nicki minaj can keep the record for solo artist. I remember monster and one of maroon 5 s songs started off similar but fell a few weeks short of matching or surpassing nickis record. Well see if Ariana can maintain... The Monster didn't even come close.

6 9 Overnight Celebrity - Twista 7 11 All Falls Down - Kanye West feat. Syleena Johnson
Yess at this year. Couldn't get enough of these two.
5 8 Who Dat - JT Money feat. Sole 6 9 Fortunate - Maxwell 9 15 Where My Girls At? - 702
JT went that high, and 702 went Top 10?

I'm sure if it was Katy Perry or Pitbull this would've already been discussed, but SAM SMITH gets a 1 million + update with 3 different songs today! Yessss

After Billboard started counting digital downloads in the Hot 100, what are the records for most weeks at #2? I can only think of Poker Face, which had 9 weeks at #2, and then Bad Romance, which had 7 weeks. Poker Face was so lucky to squeeze that one week at #1

Still very slow-going for "Tennis Court.." A Hot 100 debut is still a while away unless the Billboard Music Awards are a huge digital boon for it

6 months ago, somebody said that Paramore would release Ain't It Fun as their 2nd single, and it would be their first top 10 single. At the time I thought they were crazy, but I am shocked to see that they were right! Kudos to that person! Actually, they were wrong, as "Ain't It Fun" is the album's fourth single. 1. Now 2. Still Into You 3. Daydreaming 4. Ain't It Fun Though, to be fair, it is only the second song from the album to be pushed to pop.

Well see if Ariana can maintain... Payphone debuted at #3 and stayed in for 19 weeks I believe, while Starships was 21 weeks if I recall. edit: Oh I didn't even see the link he posted haha, but I think out of that list Holy Grail, Payphone and Starships were the only ones not to reach #1?

And Change the World by Eric Clapton (the bottom of that section lists the songs which didn't reach #1).

^^It's weird. I don't think anyone talked about it the moment Starships debuted in the top 10. It wasn't even the highest entry of that week.

10 weeks Foreigner — "Waiting for a Girl Like You" (1981–1982) Missy Elliott — "Work It" (2002–2003) 9 weeks Donna Lewis — "I Love You Always Forever" (1996) Shania Twain — "You're Still the One" (1998) 8 weeks Shai — "If I Ever Fall in Love" (1992–1993) Deborah Cox — "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here" (1998–1999) Brian McKnight — "Back at One" (1999–2000) Mario Winans featuring Enya and P. Diddy — "I Don't Wanna Know" (2004)

And yes second to be pushed to pop. Now they need to push Last Hope this fall and watch that blow up on pop and HAC. I think it could be just as big as AIF, even bigger on HAC actually. Fast in My Car needs to also get pushed to Alt, to keep them relevant on that format.

The solo version of "Love never Felt So Good" is infinitely superior, hopefully they will send it to radio.

The difference in chart runs between Radioactive and Sail is greater than the difference between I'm Yours and How Do I Live : O
87 weeks – Imagine Dragons - "Radioactive" (2014) 79 weeks – Awolnation — "Sail" (2014) 76 weeks – Jason Mraz — "I'm Yours" (2009) 69 weeks – LeAnn Rimes — "How Do I Live" (1998)

Just like he should. We need a new male vocalist who can SANG and transcend different genres. I'm gonna try to upload his acoustic version of Latch at the Woodie Awards. Killing it with just a cello and guitar player. Had me crying my eyes out from pure emotion.

I'm slightly worried Sam smith's songs are competing with each other and making it hard for any single song to break out.

I'm slightly worried Sam smith's songs are competing with each other and making it hard for any single song to break out. Three different songs with a 1 million+ update in the same day is nothing to worry about. Besides, it seems radio is about to rally around his solo single more than the others anyway.
