Aladdin debuts at #126 and If/Then looks to debut in the top 20. Doesn't Aladdin debut at #107? It's a shame too. The Broadway show was excellent! |

Mariah is Alive? I haven’t listened to Mariah well since back when I was in the 3rd grade, when she USED to be Popular cause she was married to her Label’s CEO and thus her label did Payola, over shipment of albums and heavily discounted singles which is why mos tof her #1s are never remembered cause they were manipulated..

The band's album sold 83,000 copies in its second week of availability -- down 78 percent from its debut of 383,000. Brantley Gilbert held steady in the runner-up slot with his "Just As I Am," while Mariah Carey's "Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse" was the top debut at No. 3. Outside the top two rungs, there were a number of movers and shakers -- let's take a closer look at some of them: -- Neil Young, "A Letter Home" - No. 13 - The rock veteran's 50th chart entry starts at No. 13 with 15,000 sold. His first charting album was "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" (with Crazy Horse), which made its chart debut 45 years ago this month (June 21, 1969-dated chart). -- Journey, "Journey's Greatest Hits" - No. 46 - The band's former singer, Steve Perry, made a surprise return to the concert stage (with the eels!) on May 25, after 19 years. Video footage of Perry singing Journey oldies made its way to YouTube, and perhaps spark the 19 percent gain for "Greatest Hits" (up to 6,000 for the week). It jumps from No. 62 to No. 46. -- Twenty One Pilots, "Vessel" - No. 74 - The album's arrival on vinyl LP prompts a 39 percent gain in sales for the set (4,000 for the week, of which vinyl accounts for a little over 1,000). The effort was released on Jan. 8, 2013, and has sold 144,000 to date. It flies from No. 130 to No. 74. Related -- Jack Johnson, "From Here to Now to You" - No. 86 - A big digital gain (up 140 percent in downloads) is behind the title's overall 87 percent leap this week (to 3,000 sold) and re-entry at No. 86. The iTunes Store offered the album's "Washing Dishes" as a free track during the tracking week, which likely aided sales of the full-length. -- Various Artists, "Back in the Day" - No. 102 - A restocking of this Starbucks-exclusive hip-hop compilation, first released in 2010, brings it back onto the list at No. 102 with a 1,184 percent sales gain (selling 3,000 for the week). -- Cat Stevens, "Cat Stevens Greatest Hits" - No. 135 - HBO's airing of the 2014 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on May 31 prompts a return to the chart for Stevens' "Greatest Hits" (up 194 percent). The new inductee's album hasn't been on the list since 1977. -- Soundtrack, "Chef" - No. 184 - The genre-bending collection (which includes rock, Latin and reggae tunes) hits the chart with a 62 percent gain (2,000 sold for the week). The movie, which has been in limited release since May 9, will expand to over 1,000 theaters in the U.S. and Canada on June 6. -- Jamie Lynn Spears, "The Journey" EP - No. 193 - Britney Spears' little sister's debut effort bows at No. 193 with 2,000 sold. The digital-exclusive set includes the track "How Could I Want More," which peaked at No. 29 on Hot Country Songs on Dec. 14, 2013.

MJ's passing really sent Number Ones through the roof. (His airplay, too, took off thereafter, as it wasn't anywhere near as high before his passing).
