I just upgraded to Spotify Premium. No more buying a ton of singles. Sorry songwriters.
On a side note:
-Still haven't heard Dark Horse all the way through yet.

I've been using spotify premium for over a year. I'd say 90% of my music listening is now done through spotify, but I still buy some things.

What will be the next #1 after "Fancy"? I thought for sure "Problem" would squeeze in a week or two after the video release, but "Fancy" is still leading it by a pretty hefty margin in all three chart components. "Rude" is gaining on "Problem" on iTunes and could hit #1 there as soon as tonight or tomorrow if it doesn't stall. "Problem" is #1 combined on the US Vevo charts, but I don't know how much that accounts into the Hot 100 formula.

Top 10 prediction:
1. Fancy (~15-20% lead; Problem again has more than enough points to be at #1, about 54k; certainly much more than All of Me had when it was number one and even most of Happy's weeks at #1. This could end bad for Problem as it could get blocked from #1...)
2. Problem

4. Turn down for what
5. Rude (if this prediction is correct, this song will peak higher than it did in Canada which I never expected would happen lol)

If my prediction is correct then Dark Horse is finally out of the top 10
and I like both of Katy Perry too, but somehow certain songs like ET last a long time (I still liked it for a couple months after it dropped off the Hot 100) for me while others like Dark Horse did out rather quickly (compared to most people as it's still really popular)...whereas with Rihanna's songs pretty much everything after Umbrella didn't last too long for me lol (excluding the Eminem songs that she was featured in).

I have to agree with imbondz, I don't really like ET or Dark Horse, they don't really feel like Katy songs to me.

I can see Hangover debuting high on the Hot 100 on the 6/28 chart...it got 29 million streams in just two days and probably a good 4-5 million of those are US...it will probably get 10M US streams (from YouTube alone)...man, PSY really has his way of generating large numbers of YouTube views lol. I think top 20 debut (probably even top 15) is a sure thing with top 10 debut being a possibility! Of course the fact at it will probably fall of the chart after two months like Gentleman is a different story lol.

Some acts are putting a little bit more of an effort into the lyrics videos than in the past. I haven't watched the official "Problem" video, but I recall comments that the lyric video was better.  |
