I don't think it's her worst album, but I also don't know if I want to listen to it again. The vocals and the vibe were fantastic and it sounded like REAL f**kinG R&B and sonically a nice blend of Full Moon and Afrodisiac, BUT...I agree with several in this thread that none of the songs, other than "Baby Mama" and a few others, really stand out. Also her use of "r****d" and "sch***o" really turned me off, especially knowing she wrote the material herself. I would be more forgiving about those words being on the album if this were the follow-up to Afrodisiac in 2006/7, but not in 2020. I was shocked they used the R word too. I was like damn, no one in that room said no to her? Is she really that out of touch? What’s the S word?

I tried hard to not comment after one listen or two because I love Brandy. Always have and always will but let's be totally honest this album is trash for HER. I hold Brandy to a different standard and all. Having said that I dont feel the need to harp on it as I will continue to listen to her many great albums and look forward to the next. The whole album feels disjointed and not a melody or lyric in sight. I feel like this was a payless shoes budget because everything feels 3rd rate.
Most enjoyable tracks All My Life 1-3 cause they were short. To be honest Baby Mama in hindsight sounds like it's on the top songs lol.

Brandy and Monica have always been studio singers meanng they just show up and sing was is given to them and aren’t artists. This isn't even remotely true in Brandy's case, she has plenty of song writing and producing credits on her older albums. She produces a lot of her vocals as well, all those harmonies and riffs are her creations. Well, this is the MOST she has contributed to an album and well...Yeah.

On the first listen, I just do not care for this album. The production drowns out her voice, which is the reason I listen to her music. Also, the songs are too wordy. I can't see myself singing along to any of these songs. Zero hook or memorable parts of most songs.
"Baby Mama" and the track with Daniel Cesar feel like they belong on a different album. I have to listen again to see what the highlights are.
It's just disappointing, I've been listening to "Put That On Everything" and "When You Touch Me" every week since "Baby Mama" dropped. I need the focus on vocals and clean production, not slurry singing and construction work rhythms.

When someone takes 8 years between albums we expect Sade quality—not this BS. The Album is ok. I still love her, but No Ma’am!

I find it very telling (and sad) that she is seemingly unable to articulate the meaning of this album or really anything about it. Like the lyrics, everything coming out of her mouth seems scattered, incoherent, and lacking focus.

Why is no one talking about "Say Something" and "Saving All My Love"? Ghandy DID that.
The rest of the album is giving me sleep sleep so far and "Borderline" sounds like she had a pear in her mouth.

Exclusive: Brandy Talks ‘B7,’ Kanye West, Verzuz, & ‘Moesha’ Reboot
One of the most-talked-about tracks on the album is the closer “Bye Bipolar,” which was one of the most difficult songs to write. “It’s more about my struggle in a relationship, my struggle with love, than it really is about bipolar disorder,” she explained. “It’s a metaphor. I just know it was a difficult song to write about, it was a difficult song to kind of sing through, that was like one of the hardest songs to sing through. I had a really difficult time in that experience because I was just confused.”
But the process proved therapeutic. “In writing a lot of the lyrics and singing about it, I was able to come to terms with a lot of things and that’s probably one of my best vocals. I was just able to let me heart sing on that song.”
Brandy also had kind words for her collaborator Kanye West, who has struggled with bipolar disorder. “My prayers go out to Kanye and his family,” said Brandy, who worked with Ye on 2004’s “Talk About Our Love” and 2005’s “Bring Me Down.” “Mental health is a real thing and I just pray that he gets the help that he needs, that he pulls through. It’s just a tough time for him right now, a tough time for his family and my heart goes out to him.”
Brandy’s name has been in the mix for a potential Verzuz with her “Boy Is Mine” collaborator Monica. Brandy says she would be down to participate in Swizz Beatz and Timbaland’s clash series. “I’ve always been open to it, especially if it’s like a celebratory-type of vibe,” she said. “I’m open to it. I think people would love that, just to celebrate the both of us.”
As for Monica, she says, “I believe she’s down for it, but I think for her it’s also something that has to be a celebration as well.” Brandy is also in talks to bring back her ’90s sitcom “Moesha.” “I’m completely open to it. I would love to experience that,” she said, adding, “I just want for everyone to know that I’m open to it and I’m in discussions with the right people to make it happen.”

Why is no one talking about "Say Something" and "Saving All My Love"? Ghandy DID that. The rest of the album is giving me sleep sleep so far and "Borderline" sounds like she had a pear in her mouth. I gave Saving All My Love enough screen time in my ranking of the album. She should be ashamed of herself for even giving it the same title as a Whitney classic. After listening to this more, the clear standouts are: I Am More Love Again Say Something No Tomorrow Baby Mama Rather Be High Heels Borderline I low-key dig the 1-2-3 punch of I Am More, High Heels, and Baby Mama. I still can't at her putting the two weakest songs as the first on the album. Also, I am still in shock that she left b7 as the title, LOL. But, I am almost as equally shocked that Baby Mama is the catchiest song on the album. Granted, there are no real hooks or memorable melodies on this album, but, if you remove the interludes and start with Rather Be, this would be a slightly stronger album.

If you're going to try and discredit someone's artistry, make sure you come correct. She’s no artist in a creative sense; therefore, she is not an artist. Adding a proposition here and there and doing a run is not an artist. She and Monica never built their s**t from the ground up and the s**t has come back to bite. They should have been learning to how to write while they were in the studio singing.

She tried so hard to be cool and edgy and replicate the Full Moon template, but this is a fail I'm sorry. Full Moon was effortless.

And I think the catchiness of Baby Mama was just to draw people in...she fooled me 😂. But I haven’t listened to the album since release day lol

^ same. Regarding the conversation of those who like the album vs those who dislike the album: a few opinions of us on this board doesn't invalidate your love for this album. We are allowed to coexist with different opinions and tastes. There shouldn't be a back and forth with anyone, let it be. On the first listen, I just do not care for this album. The production drowns out her voice, which is the reason I listen to her music. Also, the songs are too wordy. I can't see myself singing along to any of these songs. And I think the catchiness of Baby Mama was just to draw people in...she fooled me 😂. But I haven’t listened to the album since release day lol That's true, I do remember hearing it months ago, but it's still one of the stronger tracks on here. "Baby Mama" is catchy. I like the production, lyrics are clear, vocals are what I need and of course the video has cute choreography. I will listen to it tonight and give my second thoughts. I played it early Friday on my drive home from Miami Beach, maybe I was just tired.
