I prefer her more country-leaning tracks, but I'll reserve judgment until I hear it. I didn't love WANEGBT or IKTWT, but they were fine for what they were.

I am not interested in anything that even remotely sounds like 'Problem'. Bleh. I'll reserve judgement until I hear it obviously. I can't imagine Taylor letting me down.

This basically confirms the name of the single and how long it is.

It's about time she dropped an F bomb. She's never so much as said "damn" in a song.

It's about time she dropped an F bomb. She's never so much as said "damn" in a song. Yep and she's still able to stick it to people so well.... Actually I hope she doesn't resort to f-bombs and rent a rappers. It would be a real shame because she can continue to grow while not resort to cheap ploys. Don't get me wrong - I think one of the funniest lines in pop music is: "Will Smith don't gotta cuss in his raps to sell records; Well I do, so f*** him and f*** you too!"

I am pretty sure she says damn in Teardrops or at least did unless they edited it out. It is weird because in some ways her first cd is one of her most mature/edgy. I say that in the kindest way possible-you guys know I love Swifty Not sure I consider damn a cuss word anyway...

They also had to edit "I'll tell mine you're gay" to "You won't mind if I say" on "Picture to Burn." What a gem that song was, by the way (actually - that album still features some of her best work to date. No way any of the ballads on "Speak Now" even touch "Mary's Song")

Agreed 100% kanimal. I actually think her earlier work is underrated. It seems forgotten for Fearless and later cds, but damn she had some great, great songs on that cd.

So ridiculously excited for this. Life has finally calmed down enough for me to be embarrassingly stalk every her every (musical) move, and I am ready for this era to commence. I don't really know why they used Yahoo when Google has a larger reach, but I'm guessing they're footing the bill for everything since they want to raise awareness for their Screen service with such a large star. Win-win for Taylor!

I'm guessing they WANT the detail leaks/early buzz out. Absolutely no reason the label would have to sample a new Taylor Swift song for anyone.

I'm guessing they WANT the detail leaks/early buzz out. Absolutely no reason the label would have to sample a new Taylor Swift song for anyone. That's not necessarily true. Confidentially agreements are signed at these meetings that's why details of the songs aren't out, at least not specific ones anyway. Advanced listens are given to those who hold big positions in the industry and/or people that might eventually help the song succeed once it's released by either giving it a good review or simply playing it. They're making them feel important/special that they got to hear it before anyone else. This is done with a lot of big singles from big artists, not just Taylor Swift. It's a way to build a trust relationship between clients, particularly radio DJs. It's kind of a win-win. And then there are those who simply got to hear it because they're noisy leeches, see that alexgold~ kid on Twitter. That's if he did get to hear it anyway.

I understand all that in most cases - I just can't imagine Taylor not having ALL the leverage in this situation. The idea that they'd feel compelled to curry the favor of radio DJs is surprising, as I couldn't imagine anyone needing an EXTRA incentive to play T-Swift once it comes out. And I kind of get the idea of SOME of the pre-promotion; like inviting prominent people to her apartment for a listening party or whatever. But the people on Twitter have made it like they just sent CDs around to all the radio stations so that even the janitors could take a listen, and that seems ludicrous and unproductive.

Taylor's third million opener is upon us, dear sistrens. Her first week sales alone could possibly make her the best-selling release thus far this year. The SLAYAGE is realT. The Lord, have mercy on the lessors.

Looks like my guess was right that was produced by Max Martin. We are gonna be in for a treat on monday. Hopefully put the music video for sale on iTunes together with the single on Monday. If it is true, the music video premieres on Monday also.

It's a win-win by them playing the songs to these bigger stations/news outlets. It makes their label look cool + builds their relationships w/ these key players, which helps lesser/newer known people on their label to get attention (see Maddie & Tae). It looks like they're pretty much abandoning the country fan base. Hopefully there's at least 1 or 2 good country sounding ones (in the vein of Mean). They must be aiming for the worldwide sales, which I guess is smart.
