Jive wanted the album sales so they stopped the singles from being released. Oops would've definitely been a #1 for her

But 2000 was when Napster started to get really big so I guess they didn't want anything else potentially cutting into album sales.

It still kills me that the Wade Robson remix of Oops was never released. It is still FIRE to this day.

I remember the first time I heard "Oops!". I recorded the episode of Making The Video that night on my VCR because I was in second grade and had to go to bed early because it was a school night. But the next morning I watched the video as I was getting ready for school and I loved it!! That was my favorite song that summer

I'm faced with a dilemma here I love Britney Spears and I loathe her featured act. So i come to a conclusion that doesnt matter because if I do like the song it will clearly and obviously be because of Britney's part and I can turn to my genius friends to make me a version without Iggy!

C'mon people it's not like the song features a member of ISIS. It's just a collaboration between two fun female artists. Stop hating.

It's not like I wish her ill or want her dead, yet. Being featured on a Britney Spears track should be a reward not just handed out to any old irrelevant bitch. Its just a opinion and I will put it aside because if Britney likes it, then so do I . Just be prepared to supply a Britney only version is all i'm asking. I will get my way in the end so im okay with this so called collaboration that I will never hear.

I think most of the Britney Army is in the same boat as you. I'm sure once the song comes out, someone will make an Iggy-less version for our listening pleasure. :)

Fanmade feature-less covers are already being made as we speak.

Iggy brings me my ultimate death but I'll learn to live with it. Praying + hoping that she serves some kind of good rap. I know people may have just started to not like her but honestly I can not name one verse that I like from her. Even 'Problem' gives me a headache the way she ends that verse - "I got 99 problems but you won't be one like WUT" ughhh I can't.

YES. I hate when artists stick to the same formula and are constantly making songs with the same old producers (especially when they aren't any good in the first place). I don't think I could have gone another day with one more will.i.am production or Dr. Luke. I mean they definitely had quite a few great moments but overall there were diminishing returns happening. I think all artist should really branch out for every new project and try something new and fresh.

Bloodshy was definitely one of the best producers she's worked with, along with Max Martin. I'd like to see her work with Mark Taylor and Garibay again

Album is ready. I see they were intentionally lying in Billboard magazine to throw everyone off. Iggy Azalea Reveals Britney Spears’ Album Is ‘Ready’ And Will Feature Their CollaborationRIP Me! by Christina Garibaldi 3h ago 587 86 0 With reporting by Simone Hilliard So remember when Iggy Azlaea said that her collaboration with Britney Spears would be the first single off her next album? Well, that might not be the case. Why? Because “Pretty Girls” will be featured on Britney’s album. That’s right, it’s “ready.” I repeat, Britney’s album is READY!! At least, according to Iggy. We caught up with the “Fancy” rapper on the red carpet of the iHeart Radio Awards, where she performed her single “Trouble” with Jennifer Hudson. Iggy explained how the song has been on quite a “journey” since she and Britney revealed their collaboration back in November. “It was such a journey, that song. I got asked and it was her song, and then she didn’t think she would have her album done in time, and then I rewrote parts of it and it became my song, and I tried to make it all mine and keep it. Then she said, ‘No, no, I am going to take it, my album is ready,'” Iggy said. “And so I swung it back her way because she’s Britney Spears, you have to do that. She gets whatever she wants.” more: 8 Things You Need To Know About Britney Spears And Iggy Azalea’s ‘Pretty Girls’ Collaboration Very true, Iggy. Godney gets what Godney wants. It seems like all the back-and-forth turned out to be a good thing since the song, which drops May 5, has evolved into a “cool” “powerhouse” duet. “It’s kind of really evolved into something that I was just featured on originally, into really a true duet, where I’m on the chorus with her. We go back and forth, she has her verses I have my verse, but it’s not just me kind of popping in it. It really is a duet,” Iggy explained. “And I love that. I love a good pop duet where it’s equally powerhouse. Cool.” And it seems like these two didn’t just develop a song together. They also developed a friendship. “She’s super nice. She came to my house and had lunch and I didn’t know what to expect, and we actually really got along,” Iggy said. “I’ve been texting her, annoying her with all my ideas for the video and she’s been a really good sport about it, so I’m really excited.” Guess Iggy wasn’t kidding when she said there are “epic plans underway.” Is it May 5 already? www.mtv.com/news/2119377/iggy-azalea-britney-spears-album-ready-pretty-girls/

If Iggy is singing, that must mean its autotuned to death. So maybe a nu "It Should Be Easy" afterall? (only without Will.i.am)

Album is ready. I see they were intentionally lying in Billboard magazine to throw everyone off. I don't think she's lying about the song, but I don't see how she'd know anything about Britney's album. This reminds me of when producers like to talk about the albums of artists they've worked with to hype them up-- understandable, but the only people who really know anything are with the label. I'm not expecting it this year. That said, I wouldn't be upset if we did end up with it... even if it does look a little messy.

They could've just told Iggy her album was ready because they wanted it to be a britney release . There's a good chance we won't get the album for several more months

What about the possibility that Britney has AN album ready - as in, she had enough material completed that she could release a record now - but it's not necessarily THE album, and Britney is still working on tracks in her own time so she can pick the best stuff for what will eventually be released.

Like I said when the Billboard article came out, I wouldn't be surprised if we were to get the album out sooner than we think. It wouldn't be suprising if they are farther along than they implied and perhaps even have a schedule/timeline set in place.
They may have chosen to say those things b/c a) It will reassure fans that this won't be BJ 2.0 and b) It allows them to deal w/ any sort of unforeseen obstacles and deal w/ it w/o the pressure of a deadline looming over them. It gives them the flexibility to regroup or fix things if need be.
