What a great release date! Perfect for the summer. And I don't think this is going to be part of an album cycle, it seems like she just wants to release singles as she goes to keep people interested. Although I PRAY that it's apart of an album!

"Not a good role model" my ass. This is far more inspiring to me than any faux squeaky clean image.

^^^too much perfect for one post. I'm so happy for her being where she is right now. It is absolutely AMAZING to see her where she is now. It's crazy to think that a few years ago, people were making bets as to when she was going to die :( Britney is a STRONG girl and I will always root for her. She looks great and I can't wait to hear the new single.

The album will probably come sometime in August! Never thought she'd do a summer release again. :'( :'( She doesn't mention the album in her interview, does she? I believe 'Pretty Girls' is still a one-off single.

No mention of an album has been made in the interview. It's just speculation from my part since she usually records an album fast.

In her interview with Billboard, it was said that they're taking the album slow. I wouldn't expect anything soon.

I almost never engage in the whole "omg she looks just like 2003ney" conversations because a) It's almost never true, and b) she's in her thirties now so clearly she's not going to look the same. BUT if any picture of her taken in the past five years is worthy of that comment, it is this one:

If she does do the SB, she should drop the album shortly after that to capitalize!!
(My secret hope is she would sneak Janet for the tribute and FU to NFL, but that's just a pipe dream)

So glad that she wants another kid. I hope she does have a daughter. the older brothers can protect her.
She is the true representation of an artist that can have a meteoric rise to the top, disastrous fall from grace and rise like a phoenix to not only rebound her career but rehabilitate her personal life.
With a hopeful engagement and marriage with ebersol in the next year or two and hopefully a daughter in the next two-three years as pregnancy complications increase after 36, she can truly put out her ray of light/rhythm nation/emancipation of mimi and pick up where she was supposed to leave off from In the zone and make an album with her euphoric vibrant feel and continued success...money love and happiness, indeed.

I have a question regarding the Billboard article regarding Britney's sales. They say ...Baby One More Time sold 10.6 million copies in the US, but it's got a certification from RIAA showing 14x Platinum. I know RIAA just tracks shipments, but I've also heard Nielsen Soundscan doesn't track the sales from the BMG Music Club that was popular in the late 90's - early 00's. So is it fair to say that ...Baby One More Time sold 14 million copies in the US, or is that inaccurate to say? The same logic would apply to Oops!...I Did It Again & Britney. Sorry, just a little confused about this sales rule...

I was going through her AllMusic page (I usually really enjoy AllMusic's reviews), but for some reason they seem to think her first three albums are her best. They tore In the Zone, Blackout, and Circus apart, although the actual ratings weren't that bad (3 stars, 4 stars, and 3 stars respectively). At one moment they said Blackout was about being right on the trend rather than being ahead of the curve, and it wasn't innovative like Rihanna's Good Girl Gone Bad or Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveSounds - keep in mind this was written in 2007.
Their Britney Jean review was on the money, though.

I was looking at Britney Jean reviews the other day and I remember reading Rolling Stone's review and they gave it quite a great review actually. So did Billboard. It was pretty strange to see lol.

She looks radiant in those pictures! Motherhood suits her so well. I'm 100% down for a Super Bowl halftime show from her.

Sorry, just a little confused about this sales rule... Yes. Simply put Actual sales of BOMT are at 10.6M + music clubs sales (there are two different music clubs that were popular pre mid 2000s) which are not counted for soundscan but were for this album for certification to make it 14x platinum. BOMT 10.6 million; + 3.6M from two music club sales = 14.2M Oops!...I Did It Again (2000), 9.2 million; +2.3M from two music club sales = 11.5M Britney (2001), 4.4 million; +1M from two music club sales = 5.4M In the Zone (2003), 3 million; +350k from two music club sales = 3.4M Greatest Hits: My Prerogative (2004), 1.5 million; +400k from two music club sales = 1.9M Blackout (2007) 1M; Circus (2008), 1.7 million; The Singles Collection (2009), 250,000. Femme Fatale (2011), 788,000; Britney Jean (2013), 270,000; including other things like best of and playlists she's had 41.050M albums shipped in the US alone. I do wish they'd certify based on music club sales but oh wellz. as long as they certify In the zone at 3x platinum then I'll be fine.

Oops! needs to be 11x Platinum, Britney - 5x Platinum, In The Zone - 3x Platinum, GH: MP - 2x Platinum.

The song has since become seen as one of Britney’s signature songs. "Oops!... I Did It Again" was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 2001 ceremony. Spears' mother Lynne suggested that she might have suffered from a concussion, though she received four stitches and continued work after resting for four hours. - Britney created the concept for the clip, commenting that "[she wanted] to be on Mars, dancing on Mars" and "[wanted] to be in a red jumpsuit.” - The music video depicts Britney as the Queen of Mars, where she addresses an astronaut who has fallen in love with her. She was dressed in a red latex catsuit, which was considered too provocative for Britney's then-juvenile image. - At the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, the music video for "Oops!... In collaboration with McDonald's, Spears and 'N Sync filmed a commercial for the fast food chain, where they lip-synced to "Oops!... I Did It Again" and "Bye Bye Bye", respectively. - On September 7, Britney performed "Oops!... I Did It Again" and her rendition of "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by The Rolling Stones at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, where she notably tore off her black suit to unveil a more provocative, flesh-colored piece. Entertainment Weekly included the performance on its end-of-the-decade "best-of" list, describing "the pre-breakdown pop tart, then just 19 years old, writhing and shaking her moneymaker in nude-colored rhinestone spandex" to be "pure kitsch bliss”. - Britney has performed "Oops!... I Did It Again" on three of her eight concert tours. She included the track as the encore to her Oops!... I Did It Again Tour in 2000, where it was performed with special effects involving fire. In 2002, it was featured as the opening to her Dream Within a Dream Tour in 2002. In 2004, Britney sang "Oops!... I Did It Again" during The Onyx Hotel Tour, held in support of her fourth studio album In the Zone. The track was reworked with "...Baby One More Time" as a jazz-style performance. - "Oops!... I Did It Again" would not be performed by Britney for nine years until it was included on the setlist of her Las Vegas residency show Britney: Piece Of Me at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. 9 is really NOT a lucky number for Britney I remember Toxic peaking at #9 on HOT 100 as well, but i'm astonished that Oops peaked at that number though. I mean the song was literally HUGE and everywhere
