Something changed with the "Femme Fatale" era though tbh. She was still in the GP's good graces and a radio darling but all of her televised appearances down to that awful documentary probably damaged her image a bit. Her GMA performances for that era are about the worst I've seen from her live and you'd almost think that, at least going by her live appearances, that that would have been the era before "Circus".

It was rumored that she had a mild set-back in 2011 causing a bit of issues with her media interaction/performing. She also didn't care for the FF Tour direction, or the songs on the album. It's a shame, because they WERE so huge.

Peeps seriously need to stop with dragging Britney Jean... It clearly wasn't at fault for it's own era nor this era... it's just a sign of the times...

Regarding the latest (lack of) developments with the second single -- while I'm thrilled Britney's getting out there and did a TON of promotion thus far, and it looks to continue through various radio shows, I still can't help but be disappointed with how this all played out. Unless RCA/Team Britney/Britney herself gets their act together and start treating her like a current artist as opposed to some purely legacy act, I do not see a real future for any Glory singles. I feel like at this point they need to basically treat Single #2 as if it were Single #1, with some sort of major launch, highly promoted (and an actually good) video that doesn't get completely botched, etc. Otherwise it will probably get a minor boost on itunes/streaming into the Top 100 if we're lucky, and land somewhere between #20 and #30 on pop radio for a couple of weeks, and be done for. If the latter happens, I hope they at least go with Slumber Party as that song absolutely deserves a single release. I really think (as I think others have mentioned here) this boiled down to bad timing with missing the launch of "Make Me" at the BBMAs, and really messed with everything they had (allegedly) planned. I think this time it just really stings because the material is really there this time and Britney seems more engaged than she has been in YEARS, so to see timelines break down in such a way is frustrating. The main thing that frustrates me is the lack of flexibility. Make Me didn't set the world alight, but they seem unable to react in an effective way. It's like things not going to plan paralyzed them slightly - not a great team. The second single should have been announced a week or so post-VMA's when it was clear Make Me wasn't going to go any higher. All this promo being lined up is fantastic but she's not actually promoting anything really. There isn't much focus on the album, rather Britney herself. Agree that focussing on her as a legacy act is equally as annoying.

It's a shame, because they WERE so huge. That would make sense. That's really the only era where she actually looks a bit off and distant. The videos were still good but you can tell she wasn't as engaged compared to the "Circus" videos which all had her old flair (yes, even Radar). That was her most successful era on radio though, just imagine if she was actually out promoting how she is now with that kind of support behind a project.

I know FF is just a bunch of sleekly factory produced pop songs with little artistry or input from Brit, but damn do I love them. Straight up glossy and polished catchy pop songs. Shame she wasn't having it. Still my fav album of hers between the BO and Glory stretch.

Not really feeling Glory but it's becoming apparent that In The Zone is one of my classic fall albums. Everytime Early Mornin comes on, and I'm not at home, I have to physically restrain myself from grooving to that vibealicious beat.

What the hell are they doing with this album? Giving Christmas new life by performing at every available Jingle Ball. Leaked setlist includes Oops, Toxic, Radar and Boys.

Shame she wasn't having it. Still my fav album of hers between the BO and Glory stretch. I feel the same. How I Roll in particular is one of my favorite Britney tracks. She may not have had any input, but there are some great moments - the HIAM chorus for example sounds like classic Britney. Regardless of input, her voice is so distinctive that you wouldn't know otherwise in my view. Mostly.

Her delivery even on TTWE is so sexy and classic Britney, you'd never know she wasn't completely into it. Same for SWAK, Gasoline, Inside Out, criminal, etc. I guess good for her that she can put in minimal effort and still end up with a classic Britney product ;)

Not really sure why everyone is arguing that they are pushing her as a 'legacy' artist. She's performed at two major events -- and she is a singer who has been in the industry for 20 years. They are festivals. She can't just go out there and perform Glory. They are for a lot of non-fans, so it would make no sense for her to perform a ton of new stuff. Any artist who performed at these things , especially one who has been out forever, will perform a ton of their hits.
However, the way they are handling this second single is absolutely atrocious. I have no idea what they're doing. They need to do like an AMA's Glory medley to reinvigorate interest.
Doing the iHeart and Apple festivals (and Jingle Balls) are a great starting point to get in the good graces of those companies/industries, but there's no reason that a second single shouldn't be out by now.

Re: "If I'm Dancing", what kind of sorcery?
As well, "Better" knocks. Monogamy anthem.
Better open up cause it feels much better When we open up for each other And I know Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh When you know somebody Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh And they know your body It's so much better
I hear you, Brit. Talk to me.

Billboard's got a poll up with all of the album tracks asking fans to vote for the second single. Liar is winning (25%) followed by Slumber Party (20%) and Love Me Down (10%).

Why are they so directionless and still soliciting opinions? Be decisive! Pick a single and support it.

I find it fascinating that Liar is winning the poll. Tbh, I would have picked it as the first single--- if this was 2000. I still love it, though-- just not what Britney's single should be in 2016.
Is it too late for Britney to be announced as an SNL performer this year? Are there any slots still open for her? When are the AMAs?

Pop Justice (not from goldsoundz if that makes any of you feel better):
Hopefully that's true but considering the constant delays this era has had, we'll see. As for what the second single is, it's been hinted to be Slumber Party.

I hope it really is Slumber Party and they're gonna give it 'first-single treatment', and that's the reason they took so long (waiting for people to forget about Make Me).

Slumber Party is like the less mainstream friendly version of Make Me, so best of luck to it. But whatever, just happy at this point that at least another amazing song will get some exposure from this album and hopefully an amazing video.
