I watched Britney on NYE with a former mega fan and a couple of other people who are in their late 30's.
We only all watched "Toxic" together and lets just say it didn't go well.
All I kept hearing was "why is she moving like that, she's acting strange, she barely moves her legs, she looks good but... different, she looks like a robot etc etc.
Maybe that performance fits better when watching her whole show but during a stand alone one it wasn't my favorite.
I watched "Work Bitch" the following day with my friend and her daughter and we all were in agreement that it was better than "Toxic". However my friend who's not a dancer even pointed out the dance steps looked very "high school talent show" at times.
Maybe it was an off night. I have seen other performances of her lately that have been better.
Still a fan of the music and waiting patiently for it. lol.

It seems most of the Toxic qualms come from the Tree bit, b/c I honestly don't see a problem with it after she got off there. The BBMA breakdown / floor hair flipping / being thrown from side to side was a good section.

I watched the NYE performances with some dancer friends and ... well, it definitely didn't go well lol. BUT everyone agreed that she looked amazing and were mostly just confused as to why the choreography was so terrible and why she can't hit a move and stick it anymore.
And, regardless of all of it, they all still love her, so whatever lol.

I think Britney sometimes gets lazy (the video a few posts above shows she can hit it when she wants to), but I think the main problem is that they need to give her choreo that really makes her go for it. Take the Break the Ice choreo from the Vegas show... that was epic choreo that she killed almost every time, and it was GOOD choreo that forced her to hit it. |

I’d like Danja to work with Britney again too, but tbh it would be a disaster waiting to happen. Her fans would want a recreation of Blackout and anything actually innovative would get panned. Doesn’t make me want it any less for selfish reasons though. I think their sounds blend together perfectly and they certainly have a spark in the studio.

Not so much with Blur....Abroad was cute though. Decided to look up Abroad and...wot. I'm hoping this is a very ROUGH demo and they were gonna take out some of the disparate elements, chop it up and add some serious beats to it, because...um...yeah. Blur, on the other hand for, was my sex jam of a year. Thanks for reminding me about it. |

^diplo was quite proud of his work with Madonna idk. Regardless of how the song would perform Britney has a name and a legacy and I would think some of these djs would find it an honor to collaborate with someone with such a rich history in the music industry

Diplo has already worked with Britney on Circus. iirc his material was rejected, but he did get two official remix of 'Circus' serviced. Both are very good, albeit relics from his experimental phase.
I think comparing Britney to Madonna is a lot more difficult to do now than it was three or four years ago, though. I'm in no way taking away from her legacy or attempting to slight her at all, but Madonna put in the work required to transcend generations in a way that Britney has unfortunately not. I don't think she really wants to, either. She's still an icon in her own right, but I could see why Diplo would be excited about working with Madonna. Today's Britney, less so; but I could easily see her getting work with other industry legends from her era.
