I had always liked certain Britney singles from the first two albums. Then she released “I’m A Slave For You” and I became a lot more interested in her music. I purchased the “Britney” album the day it came out. I instantly Loved “Lonely, Overprotected and Boys”. I liked a couple of other tracks from the album but those 3 along with “Slave For You” was enough for me. It also warmed me up for “In The Zone”. As a whole I like it better than “Britney”. It’s probably my second favorite Britney album after “Blackout”.

I actually feel like In The Zone was a sweet spot for Britney musically. I don't remember the era having much hate around it. Usually, it's always been a tough road for Britney when it comes to music critics, but I believe most responded favorably to the album. In The Zone has also appreciated well since its release and after Blackout I would say is probably her most critically acclaimed album. The music was well received during it's time all things considered. It was a strong transition record that had good praise. The disconnect came from her private life more than anything else as 2004 was when the wheels were coming off on her personal life. The 24-hour marriage and then later the Kevin Federline era really hit her reputation hard, that along with the knee injury took away a lot of the landing the era could have had.
Me Against The Music, Toxic, and Everytime were all career level highs when it came to her artistry. The Madonna comparisons, the critical reception and newness of Toxic, and the artistic credibility of Everytime were all fueling the era well. I think she ended up selling somewhere around 2.6-2.8 million by the end of the summer around the time of her leg injury. Prior to that the tour was picking up and was going to dominate the fall of 2004 for a second US leg and even more stops in Austrialia and other places. In an alternate universe I think it would be interesting to see what would have happened if she never met Kevin Federline. But I think it was clear that by that point Britney was just over the grind of being a popstar. She just wasn't as in to being the biggest pop star in the world as much as she was from 2000 - 2002.
Out of all her albums that were released prior to Jive's dissolution I think this was the album they were going to push the hardest. It was a missed opportunity to not have Breathe On Me as a single. But I also remember Britney complaining that she felt the era had too much sex involved and that she wished to practice a "less is more" approach. I am not sure what that would have looked like though.

There must have been some plans for 'Breathe On Me' to be a single? Obviously it got remixes done (Jacques Lu Cont/James Holden/Junior Vasquez) so either those were prepared before they went with 'Outrageous' instead, or they were prepping it for single #5 but pulled the plug after the knee injury screwed up the rollout for 'Outrageous'.

The remixes do hint towards that, but I believe Touch of My Hand and Early Morning were also commissioned for remixes, I can't imagine either of those records becoming singles.

I have been OBSESSED with this song this week. I wish it would've made it into The Singles Collection on either the GMM or POM single.

I think those ones were done specifically for the first remix album, as were the 2005 update of Davidson Ospina's BOMT remix, the Justice remix of MATM and the Dave Aude remix of 'Slave'.

Another day, another achievement. Gimme More is now her 7th song to surpass 200 million streams on Spotify and it's been her most popular track for months now. She keeps on winning with her talent. Gimme More has surpassed 300 million streams on Spotify. The song will be forever iconic. Surpassed 400 million streams on Spotify. Her 6th song to achieve this following Toxic, Scream & Shout, BOMT, OIDIA & Womanizer.

I just read (if anyone knows any truth to it?) that she has a song with The Weekend coming out for the HBO show called “Idol”. The song is rumored to be called “Idle Love”. Produced by Max Martin

Hold Me Closer is done.
Hoping for more new music in 2023 and less of her spinning on IG.

I'm hoping for an actual ending and exposure of this "baby Con"/"Care Plan" and for her to truly be free...

Her posts are beginning to read like she started typing but then kept hitting the middle word on the predictive text option.
I might start using “SUP BIRDS !!!” in everyday conversation though.

It’s probably my second favorite Britney album after “Blackout”. Would agree generally about her beginning to step into her own as an artist on 'Britney'. My Britney album rankings would be: 1. Blackout 2. Femme Fatale 3. In The Zone 4. Britney 4. Glory 5. Circus 6. Oops...I Did It Again 7. Baby One More Time 8. Britney Jean The first five are all solid albums with multiple highlights outside of the singles. Femme Fatale has no skips for me. I think in general it's pretty underrated/disliked? Perhaps due to the Dr. Luke-ness of it all. Still, it's banger after banger. Oops is a bit paint by number leaning too heavily on the '...Baby' sound, but has some album cut highlights (Can't Make You Love Me). The last two are skippable outside of the singles, and even some of those are meh.

The fact that she didn't even do a video for HMC doesn't give me hope that new music is coming soon. I'm OK with her living whatever she wants to live as her best life though.

Worst case scenario he's behaving until the prenup clause stipulates he can fuck things up and still get some coins. But probably doing his own thing. He did a recent episode on a Hulu show and he's suppossedly also a fitness trainer? According to Wikipedia he has an unreleased movie coming as well.

She also posted pictures of her sons, saying how much she loves them. Maybe she's trying to forgive her family and rebuilding bridges?
