On a positive note, it seems Sony/RCA are finally getting their sh*t together and doing a wide release of her studio collection on Vinyl. Looks like all studio + GH:MP should be out at the end of March.

She’s expressed interest in recording again. I don’t think we would have gotten “Hold Me Closer” if she was that opposed to it. Elton did say she was scared about how the public would receive it, but it was a critical and commercial success. I don’t think she cares about RCA (or getting hits) and I don’t think they really care about what she releases either. I wouldn’t put a lot of stock into those rumors.

I definitely don’t believe the rumors about the book. She’s said upfront that she doesn’t want to do interviews or write a book. Being paid to share her story doesn’t sit right with her. It’s possible she changed her mind, but there’s no way a book would be ready by this Summer unless it was incredibly rushed.

Yeah, I believe Britney still has that spark in her that needs a creative output of some kind. She was born to perform, and I think she still has it in her, but like you said, and was illustrated with the HMC rollout, is that she's truly scared to put herself out there again as Team Con basically killed most of the organic passion and confidence she had.

The fact that Hold Me Closer has had the longevity it has had (and nearly 200M on Spotify with it basically just being released and nothing else) I hope shows her that the mantle is there whenever she wants to come back. As a selfish fan, I of course would love nothing more for her than to have a huge real comeback, but I could also imagine with Britney being such a creative person, that it would probably be cathartic for her as well to be do songwriting that's personal and eventually be able to cultivate an entire tour or performance HERSELF. I hope she still pursues it at some point. I also imagine Britney is someone who likely gets very bored too so I figure she'll probably come back at some point.

Depends on the contract and how it was written. Short answer: it depends. Quite frankly, it's probably a moot point– I don't think she gives even a fraction of a f**k about her label. 

If the contract is more forgiving, assuming it is timed, then a twilight hour compilation album would fulfill any obligation. It more likely requires new music though. As I recall, it was renewed during her residency. New material would benefit both the label and her team during that time, but whether or not it was written to be that specific is speculation, of course. Full disclosure: Eqbk knows more about the specifics than I do. I might have the amount of albums she has left incorrect. 

Theoretically, Rosengart could make a case for the contract being void as she had no legal rights at the time. Very unlikely scenario for a few reasons, most of all that Britney could care less about setting foot in a courtroom again unless her father would get his s**t wrecked for it, but it's not an impossible case. Regardless, point stands: she more than likely doesn't give a s**t.

The only thing that is known about her latest RCA contract is that it was renewed after BJ, which completed her previous contract. Glory is the first album released under this contract.

The following is speculation/educated guesses on her current contract from fans.

1) Her contract is for 4-5 albums. The general consensus seems to be 4 albums but 5 albums would follow the pattern of her previous contracts. That means she has 3-4 albums left in her contract (Glory counts as the 1st album).

2) What counts towards the album count are LPs and greatest hits compilations. Again, this was the case with her previous contracts. In fact, the terms of her original contract with Jive ended with the release of her 1st greatest hits.
a) 1st contract: BOMT, Oops, Britney, ITZ, GH:MP
b) 1st contract renewal/renegotiation: BO, Circus, TSC, FF, BJ

3) Remix albums (i.e. B in the Mix albums) and other non-greatest hits compilations (i.e. Playlist, Essential Britney Spears, etc.) don't count towards fulfilling the album requirements.

I don't know if there are any time stipulations but I doubt it (given that Glory was released about 7 years ago) and I doubt she cares.

The TMZ stuff is almost so overly dramatic that it can't possibly be real imo. You can't equate Britney being eccentric on Instagram dancing to somehow behind the scenes she's at the same time a danger to herself and others. It's just getting preposterous at this point. It's clear Britney - and honestly anyone who would be in her position - is still dealing with the trauma of the c-ship and is dealing with it. But now Team Con is going into overdrive pushing stories even further to make sure everyone thinks she's "still crazy." Lots of alarm bells and red flags in the TMZ article, including them now claiming she has substance abuse issues - which have never been an issue for Britney despite it being rumored, especially during the K-fed custody days. But then when the article describes these "substances"... they mention... caffeine and adderrall. And guess who was adamant about Britney not having caffeine for some odd reason? Team con.

Not just that... but they go on to mention like 3 different unnamed sources. Britney doesn't even have that many close people around her unless Sam and Cade are throwing her under the bus, which until proven, I honestly don't believe. So these could either be literally people who have been with her for 5 seconds trying to get a cash grab for info or just ... simply made up or pushed by Team Con.

Meanwhile, Sam is at the premiere of Star Trek this week and just posted a video with Britney having fun in a Target on Wednesday. Britney also refuted the claims on IG. Either Sam is a real psychopath and playing Britney or this is all... complete bullsh*t.

Like... it's surreal that we've moved from her posting dancing videos on Instagram, clips of her singing to Oops, sometimes posting topless photos for freedom to... "she's now in a life or death situation". Like what???

I didn't necessarily believe the "Team Con is really trying to kill her" accusations but it's clear that something is still up. They at the very least are doing everything they can behind the scenes to push a narrative.
