Most any song from Daughtry's "Leave Thia Town" album I think would be good. Also, Theory of a Deadman's "Out of My Head", Jim Croce's "Operator", I'm sure some people have done it live, and 3 Doors Down "Back to Me"...these are the ones that sound like they'd be good, off the top of my head.

I was just thinking that Keith Urban would sound really good singing OneRepublic's "I Lived".

I was listening to my iPod and "Faithfully" by Journey came on, and I couldn't help but imagine Chris Young singing an incredible country version of it. Here are some other non-country songs that I would like to hear get a dose of country seasoning: "Young, Wild & Free" - Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dog, & Bruno Mars "Rude" - Magic "Never Say Goodbye" - Bon Jovi "Waking Up In Vegas" - Katy Perry "Drive" - Incubus "Sex On Fire" - Kings of Leon "These Days" - Foo Fighters "Little Black Submarines" - The Black Keys I'm sure I can think of some more too. Sex on Fire by the Kings of Leon has some innovative instrumentation, and the lead singer displays great vocals. They are one of the leading Southern Rock bands post Allman Brothers.

Sex on Fire by the southern rock band Kings of Leon, according to the lead singer Caleb Followill was not originally going to be named as such. He does display excellent vocal talent, and the instrumentation is good. In my opinion, as I said before, it is innovative. Not sure it would be great for a country music album cover, though, as someone suggested. LOL

Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" could make a good country song. I also think Echosmith's "Bright" sounds like something that could have been on Taylor Swift's first two albums.

Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" could make a good country song. You got your wish. Dylan Scott covered the song, and it's available on iTunes.

I want to hear "Cryin'" by Aerosmith. Not sure who I'd want to sing it? I don't think any guy has a voice like Steven Tyler's. Carrie could pull it off.

I have always wanted Martina to tackle something by Celine. My picks would be either "The Power of Love", "Taking Chances", or "It's All Coming Back To Me Now". All three would leave the door open for such a dynamic performance, and require a lot of interpretive skill. They are the type of songs that would push any artist; especially the last one.
I fear though that now she is getting old enough that she may never try it. Martina still sings all her vocally challenging songs in their original keys, but I think she is noticeably starting to struggle with some of her higher songs. As recently as her '08 DVD special, she was sustaining the Eb5 "oooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuggggghhhhhht to see..." at the end of A Broken Wing, while nowadays she barely edges up to the Eb before slipping down to and sustaining a C#5. If she tried to do some of Celine's songs in their original keys now, she might hurt herself. But then again, even Celine sings her own songs like 2 to 3 steps lower live now than she originally recorded them...

Rock band Sixx:A.M.'s song "Stars" has subject matter that would fit perfectly on today's country radio with a good cover.

Twenty One Pilots - "Stressed Out" Another Twenty One Pilots song: "House Of Gold". Hell, it's already countrier than half of what's being played on country radio.

I would for someone to cover Carly Simon's "That's The Way I Always Heard It Should Be"! It's one of my favorite songs! Just love how real of a picture it paints... I think it would sound great as a country cover!

Sorry about the double post, but I was just listening to The Corrs' Greatest Hits and remembered how I always felt their music would lend so well to country... especially the ones co-written e produced by Mutt Lange (like "Breathless")

"Piece By Piece" - Kelly Clarkson I think the new 'Idol' version could be sent to country radio as is.

Elle King Ex's and Oh's (I feel like Carrie Underwood or Kelsea Ballerini could give a great performance of that)

Definitely agree.

"Honky Cat" by Elton John is kind of country-inspired and as such could probably work as a country song. I can almost imagine someone like George Strait singing it.
