I was listening to my iPod and "Faithfully" by Journey came on, and I couldn't help but imagine Chris Young singing an incredible country version of it. Here are some other non-country songs that I would like to hear get a dose of country seasoning: "Young, Wild & Free" - Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dog, & Bruno Mars "Rude" - Magic "Never Say Goodbye" - Bon Jovi "Waking Up In Vegas" - Katy Perry "Drive" - Incubus "Sex On Fire" - Kings of Leon "These Days" - Foo Fighters "Little Black Submarines" - The Black Keys I'm sure I can think of some more too.

Sugarland do a decent cover of "Sex On Fire" on their live album.
Kings Of Leon have some songs that I think would make great country covers:
"Manhattan", "Family Tree", "Back Down South" just to name a few.
Adele has a few too: "Take It All", "Right As Rain", "Turning Tables", "Rumour Has It" (I'd still love to hear Faith Hill's take on that)
I'm sure there are way more that I'll try to think of later on.

I've always thought "Story of My Life" by One Direction would make a good Country song. It wouldn't take much. It already has that Pop-Folk arrangement, just throw in some fiddle and steel with a 2 step beat.

"Fast Car" - Tracy Chapman Christian Kane did a cover of this on his debut album. I like his version and the album in general.

"A Drop in the Ocean" - Ron Pope "September" - Daughtry almost any song of the "Leave This Town" album would be good for me. That album had a lot of country elements to it. I remember Tennesee Line even getting played with Vince Gill on one of the award shows.

After seeing Guardians of the Galaxy, I would live to hear a country version of Blue Swede's "Hooked On A Feeling". Thinking Blake Shelton or Luke Bryan might be able to deliver a killer version of it.

I'm dying to go see Guardians, I love Chris Pratt on Parks & Rec and I'm hoping he can carry a movie as the lead actor (though I feel "Guardians" is a bit more of an ensemble) and apparently he's the lead in the new "Jurassic World", which I hope is really good too. Back on topic now...I think Blake would be a good person to do that cover as he's show a willingness to try different things, like "Footloose" and he just seems like someone that would release a covers album.

I think "Stay With Me" by Sam Smith would make a good country song, much like a lot of Adele's catalogue.

Amazing song. Don't know if you know already, but Johnny Cash covered it on one of the American Recordings albums:

pulsemusic.proboards.com/post/4904214 jferstler posted a video link to a cover by Chasin' Crazy (which IMO is excellent and should be serviced to radio as a legitimate country cover) :)

Found this today by coincidence. No Hunter Hayes fan here :); but this cover of OneRepublic's "Counting Stars" is really good. :) Better if they had omitted the extra synths and added some banjo, slide and more prominent guitar playing On this track Hunter's vocals are way superior to Ryan Tedder's IMO.

Yeah I really enjoyed Chasin' Crazy's version of Stay With Me.
I'd like to see Sorry by Buckcherry turned into a country song.

"Turn The Page" - Bob Seger
Edit: A quick Wikipedia search told me that Waylon Jennings covered it in 1985.

Not bad at all. I prefer Sam's original, but their version is definitely good. I bought Sam's album today, and now I think that "I'm Not The Only One" would make an even better country song.

Some odds here that really need to be stripped down when to be rebuilt in a country manner. Would really love to hear what these artists would end up with their own interpretations. :)
Billy Currington - Van Halen: "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" Brantley Gilbert - Linkin Park: "No More Sorrow" Carrie Underwood - Madonna/Abba: "Hung Up/Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" Cassadee Pope - Sister Sledge: "Lost In Music" Chris Young - Kiss: "I Was Made For Lovin' You" Dixie Chicks - Linkin Park: "Hands Held High" Eric Church - AC/DC: "Thunderstruck" Florida Georgia Line - Pegasus: "Skyline" George Strait - 3 Doors Down: "Kryptonite" Justin Moore - Green Day: "When I Come Around" Kenny Chesney - Men At Work: "Down Under" Lee Ann Womack - Dana Del Rey: "Summertime Sadness" or "Video Games" Love And Theft - The Offspring: "Self Esteem" Luke Bryan - Capital Cities: "Safe And Sound" Miranda Lambert - Madonna: "You Must Love Me" Trisha Yearwood or Dolly Parton - Perfume Genius: "Put Your Back N 2 It" Sara Evans - Gem Club: "Breakers" Scotty McCreery - Bastille: "Pompeii" Thomas Rhett - Muse: "Uprising" Thompson Square - Milky Chance: "Stolen Dance"
Could go on forever... :)

I loved it, personally. Speaking of songs from that movie, anyone wanna cover "Spirit in the Sky"? Oh wait, the Kentucky Headhunters already did. Of COURSE they did.

Would be interesting to hear though.

I just heard Brandon Flowers' "The Clock Was Tickin'" for the first time in awhile, and was reminded of how 'country' I think it is. In fact, I think his version could probably go to country radio as is, if it didn't have his name attached to it. I think someone (Jason Aldean? Blake Shelton? Kenny Chesney?) could cut a cover version of it that would do quite well.

Sorry for the double post.
A country cover of "Get Hurt" by The Gaslight Anthem would be amazing.

This suggestion is a bit out of the blue, but I've always thought that a country cover of the song "The Older I Get" by Christian Rock band Skillet would be amazing.
