This song is really addictive. I love Trust You and I can see why it was the first single but I personally think this would have been the better choice. It isn't as off-putting for some of Rob's fans...those that can't stand Trust You. But then again, this isn't a rock song or it's not really Rob so it will no doubt get trashed from those same people. I guess those people forgot all about Lonely No More. LOL! I never did understand why people will complain about pop Rob but still like Lonely No More.

Link is gone now. That was fun while it lasted. :) More excited for the album after hearing that one. I don't know if it will be a single or not but it sure will be played a lot in my car/home.

I'm kinda surprised he hasn't been playing ITWFGT live on this tour, seems like it is going to be the big track of the album in my opinion.

I'm kinda surprised he hasn't been playing ITWFGT live on this tour, seems like it is going to be the big track of the album in my opinion. I wonder since part of the tour is now actually after 8/21 if he will add a few more new songs to the shows after that date. Would be great for the fans going to those shows. There are still 5 songs that no one has heard and of the songs that he has played live The Great Unknown has hands down been my favorite. Rob has said it's his favorite, too. I think that will be the gem of the album for fans that like non-pop Rob and maybe a preview of that alt-country album Rob will do in the future. Hold On Forever will the song for the people who like Rob's ballads. There's also the piano track he said he wrote at the last minute for the album. I'm sure that song will be Rob playing the piano and focus on his vocals. Is it 8/21 yet? This album has been a long time coming actually. I hope the next one doesn't take as long. :) I think MB20 will do something next year to celebrate 20 years together but I just don't see them doing an album before Rob releases another solo one this time around. I think a lot of that will have to do with his wife's health situation. When he records with the band he appears to have to do a lot of traveling since they all live in different cities. With his solo album I think he does that much more in New York and maybe in Matt Serletic's studio in California. I could see MB20 picking about 5 theaters in 5 US cities and doing 2 shows in each city (i.e., The Beacon in NYC, The Ryman for the southern shows, etc.).

This thread actually started just over a year from the actual release date of the album.
I'm still excited to hear the studio version of "Heaven Help Me"

Ok, I've come home from work and need to hear ITWFGT. I have been singing this song all day. You know I've tried to stay very positive about this album and I truly have liked everything I've heard so far but the studio version of this song is everything that I like about Rob. Great singing, lyrics with an edge, and I love the last 1:10 of the song. Maybe the best segment of ANY Rob solo or MB20 song that I've heard.

I managed to rip it from RateMyMusic, and have it on my phone now in the event it would go down (still will buy it when it comes out). Hey it might even be two weeks away with an early stream too.

Thanks guys for the encouragement. :) You are right. I forgot they usually will stream the entire album a week before release. So that would make it about 2 weeks and 4 days. I can make that! Seriously though, this is a great song. I'm anxious to see if anyone assisted Rob on this one or if this is one of Rob's/Matt's songs.

I read somewhere it was Rob/Wallpaper (Ricky Reed)/Matt Serletic who worked on it.

Rob periscoped "All the Best Things," it sounds great, so I guess that means it's one of the confirmed B-sides.
He said he would periscope some more later.

What kind of song was it? Ballad, mid-tempo? R&Bish production which is what I heard in ITWFGT? Rob performed this morning on The Pulse. I don't know if it aired but he apparently sang Trust You, Jane Says (cover), Disease, and ITWFGT. I think that may be a nod to that being the next single.

Hard to tell, gives me a similar vibe that I got from Help Me Through This. Here's a rip of the audio of the periscope: vocaroo.com/i/s1lNlZ90pzbsThe quiet parts from him sticking his phone outside of his car

Thanks Kyle. I can't make out many of the lyrics but it's definitely a mid-tempo sunny pop song.

I was just looking around on iTunes and I see that there are several big releases on 8/21. Disturbed, Bon Jovi, Carly Rae Jepson, Kip Moore, and I think a few others. All of these will probably debut ahead of Rob. I hope he can make the top 10 but it may not be in the cards this time around. I think his solo albums have debuted #1 and #6(?) so far.
Took another listen to that clip. Of course I'm going to say I think I like it but I do. Sounds like it may have a really good chorus. :)
I just remembered that someone had a post on here with album release dates. Here's what they have for 8/21:
August 21, 2015
Carly Rae Jepsen - E·MO·TION Emily West - All For You Jordin Sparks - Right Here, Right Now Kip Moore - Wild Ones

I just pre-ordered The Great Unknown on iTunes so I'm ready for the ITWFGT download! Can't wait. It will be interesting to see what songs the fans end up liking. This one has to be one of the favorites (well for those of us anyway who like pop Rob). :)

Is Rob adding dates to his tour? There's a new Hollywood, Florida date on Ticketmaster for Oct 23rd. Maybe he'll add a date where I can actually make a show this Fall. That'd be great.

Something kind of odd, Matchbox Twenty's live cover of "Modern Love," was used in the new trailer for "Sleeping with Other People."

Rob played a new song last night, Absense of Affection. I haven't been able to listen to it myself, but here's the video

I listened to the first 45 seconds. I really want to leave some surprises for the album release. But again, I can hear the 80s influence here and there's no doubting at all that this is a pop record. I'm going to say that Rob's love for INXS may have been a major influence for this album. Today Q&A with Rob. www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/3fx381/i_am_rob_thomas_ama/

I had a couple of my questions answered in the AMA, interesting that there are 5 or 6 bsides for the album though, with no deluxe version (other than the Target version). Wonder if the others will ever be released or how.

Even Stars Fade is another title I hope to hear.

Yeah, I think I hear INXS in All the Best Things, too. I have the Kick album so I've always liked pop. I can't wait to see this side of Rob!
I also wonder if we'll get to hear the b-sides except for the Target release.

Your prediction was right, Kyle. ITWFGT is now up as an insta-grat on iTunes! I bet Rumors is happy. I hope Rob's label releases it as a single. I think they're crazy if they don't.
