I had this thread yesterday but deleted it, but what are some things(regarding country) that are embarrasing for you to admit? Here are my confessions 1. When i saw the tracklist for Chase Rices Ignite the Night i saw the track MMM Girl i was confused because i didnt know what MMM stood for, i felt like an idiot when i heard the song lol 2. I actually fell for Brad Paisleys leaking moonshine thing on twitter 3. I confess to singing along to "Donkey" one time so yeah theres my examples, fire away!

I confess that I would marry Jana Kramer right now this very second if I could (I'm kidding... but not really). Seriously though, she is one of the prettiest girls in music.

My confession...I've adored Country music for ten years, and I can't stand most of it anymore. The younger fans supporting the trucks, tailgates and beer anthems don't represent the mentality of all the genre's younger fans.

I'm nineteen and I listen to my Patsy Cline Pandora station more than any other. Although, my favorite time frame in country music would be from 1985-1995. I do still like some today, but it's horrendous overall.

This is pretty bad... Tracy Byrd: "Ten Rounds With José Cuervo" I totally didn't get it what this was all about because I genuinely thought that "José Cuervo" had to be some Mexican dude. Happens when you are being raised in an overprotected way :)

My confession goes along the lines of pretty country girls like Jana (who is probably the only single country girl on the charts now.)
If I was a decade younger (I'm 34 BTW), I would date Taylor Swift in a heartbeat.

I have a couple of confessions:
1) For all my distaste in the bro-country trend, I absolutely enjoy "Boys Round Here" by Blake Shelton and *GASP* "This Is How We Roll" by FGL. I'll still jam out to those two songs anyplace, anytime.
2) I used to run a George Strait website called Strait Country and also once created the unofficial first George Strait hispanic website called Strait Loco and even had that mentioned in a newsletter of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. This was a ways back...like in 1998 I believe. I was also once semi-active with the George Strait website Strait Connection. My interest in websites subsided, however. If anyone remembers visiting those sites at all back then, well you'll know I've been active in message boards for quite some time haha.

I wouldn't say this is embarrassing but I have a soft spot for Jason Aldean. I wish I didn't but I do.

The younger fans supporting the trucks, tailgates and beer anthems don't represent the mentality of all the genre's younger fans. I've kept track of my favorite ten songs every week for the last 20 years (started in high school in 1995), and I'm debating giving it up. It's always been a part of who I am, as in people know I do it and often ask what my top 3 this week are, and my wife is interested from a psychological perspective (although she loves it as well). It's tough to give it up, but it's EXTREMELY tough to find ten songs I even like each week.

I think most mainstream country music has become unbearably bad in the last several years, and my "confession" is that I'm really only here to discuss 80s/90s/early 2000s (and older) country music. There was a time not so long ago when I used to know all the words to every single hit song, but at some point I simply stopped caring.

Ha ha go ahead. I'm sure many on this board do the same and it's interesting to make your own top 50 each year (I usually end up with about 100 songs in a calendar year). I put guidelines on my list, like the song has to chart in the Billboard Airplay top 40 before it can chart on mine, but to each their own. It's also interesting to see how long some songs stay in favor with my tastes. Much like the actual chart, songs that I adore from the start tend to flame out quickly and slow burners chart longer and do better on my year end chart. Nothing stays in my top ten for more than 13-14 weeks though. 3 months is a long time for me to really love a song.
The best part of my chart is the historical aspect of it. 20 years into it now, it's fun to look back at what song was #1 in any year and reminiscence on what was going on in the world then.

This week I got me, Reba's: "50 Greatest Hits" and Kenny Roger's: "42 Ultimate Hits". Better late than never. :) At this pace, in ten years I'll be stuck in discovering the 1960's. :) NB: Any suggestions welcome; rather than me going through the old Billboard charts and sampling songs at random.

Seeing since you like numbers in your CDs, here are a few more: 1. Alabama-41 Number One Hits-later the Essential Alabama 2. Merle Haggard-43 Legendary Hits-I know, all rerecordings of his greatest hits 3. Conway Twitty-41 Number One Hits

I'll give this a bump.
In a conversation today, it turned out that A) I have never felt inclined to watch the Reba TV sitcom [never seen!] B) and I have never realised that Reba had a starring lead in Tremors. [watched this trash cult movie endless times!]
So guys, can you beat that?

I've passively watched a few episodes of Reba while visiting with family, and to be honest, it struck me as a really standard order family sitcom. Not really terrible, but not something I'd go out of my way to watch.

^ What Andy said, I still love Reba , but that show was just god awful. I will say Reba was one of the better "actors" on it though. The daughters boyfriend , the ex-husband & the especially his wife were just nerve wrackingly annoying.
