No Ordinary Love Hear Pink Go Folk in New Project You & Me With City and Colour's Dallas GreenFile this one under "collaborations you’d never expect" -- P!nk, Billboard’s 2013 Woman of the Year -- is teaming with City & Colour’s Dallas Green to release a folk album as You + Me. P!nk (real name Alecia Moore, in case you forgot) and Green already have a new album ready and a new song to go with it. Debut LP Rose Ave. is set to drop Oct. 14 via RCA. Below, check out the lyric video for the hushed, acoustic love ode titled… drumroll… "You and Me."P!nk met Green through her husband Carey Hart and felt an immediate creative connection. According to a press release, P!nk invited the singer-songwriter to Los Angeles, where they recorded the majority of Rose Ave. in one week. P!nk hinted at her folksy inclinations in her 2013 Billboard Woman of the Year Q&A: I have a lot of singer/songwriter friends at barbecues and they'll always be the ones who get asked to sing a song. I'm never going to be asked to sing a song, because I'm a pop star. So I'm used to being shit on. I'm used to being the underdog. I'm used to being looked at as a corporation. And it's not until people hear me sing at that barbecue, or see [things like the Woman of the Year honor]. It's like every year I'm constantly having to reprove myself. I'm not complaining—it keeps me motivated. But it is sometimes a total, huge pain in the ass.P!nk’s fans might be familiar with Mr. Green from when City and Colour opened for P!nk on several dates of her Truth About Love tour. He’s also enjoyed a successful musical career in his own right, especially in his native Canada. After fronting the post-hardcore act Alexisonfire, he has released four singer-songwriter-type albums as City and Colour (get it? his name is Dallas Green) and won three Juno Awards. This past summer, he played A-list American festivals Coachella and Bonnaroo.

I never cared for City & Colour so the Dallas Green thing seems so strange to me but Pink has been in need of a sound change for a few albums now so my excitement for that is enough to be behind this new era completely!

Best song she's released since "Who Knew". She sounds absolutely gorgeous on this track.

I fucking love Dallas Green... but PINK??? Jesus christ, you used to scream your ass off and know you're collaborating with a pop star? Jesus fucking...
This is still Dallas' best vocal performance:

Jesus f**king indeed. That was before I heard it, they actually sound not bad together. But to go from him screaming the shit out of songs like "Boiled Frogs" and "This Could Be Anywhere in the World" to collaborating with Pink is a shock.

Fucking finally. She's needed a change of sound for years, her music was so stale. This is beautiful though, her voice is beautiful.

But to go from him screaming the s**t out of songs like "Boiled Frogs" and "This Could Be Anywhere in the World" to collaborating with Pink is a shock. I would say many Pink songs are "harder" than most of the City & Colour songs I've heard. It's not that much of a shock.

I'm just saying, it's a surprise duo but it works well.

Late to the board but boy, was I happy to wake up yesterday to her tweet text. <3 Love the song (except for the first line of the chorus.."they say everything happens for a reason") and love the collab. I LOVE Dallas's voice, and I love that we're from the same home town. The whole idea and project is just awesome...in my eyes.

She gets better and better as the years go by. Nothing to be shocked about.

Wow, this was random and unexpected as all get-out. But what a gorgeous song! I like P!nk, but I have to agree that a change of sound for her was very welcome.
This definitely has the feel of a side venture that no one is really expecting to be a huge commercial success, but goodness I would love it if it became the surprise breakout of the year.

This is a smart way for P!nk to fulfill her long desire to release acoustic music, while protecting the "P!nk" brand. I dig BTC. She is amazing and this type of release will only increase her standing as an outstanding vocalist and an artist with great substance.
