WODS/Boston has an add on this recent U.K. #1 this week and it was in the 100's on iTunes recently.

Looks like this is beginning. It also was serviced to the US dance radios last week, so I guess some more mainstream stations will jump on it as well.

This was previously mentioned in the World Hits thread for this song, but Mediabase is currently crediting this as "LILLYWOOD & ROBIN SCHULZ." They really can't make up their minds with the crediting. Poor "The Prick". Anyway, so glad to see this at #1 on UK iTunes (as if there was any doubt, but still love seeing it!) The Prick is apparently a naughty word in the UK and Australia, as it can be slang for the word penis.

As has Billboard for the last few weeks. Which is silly, as I've NEVER heard the word "Prick" referenced for that in the US.

As has Billboard for the last few weeks. Which is silly, as I've NEVER heard the word "Prick" referenced for that in the US. Really? You've never heard someone call somebody else a prick before? It's a derogatory term that usually is a slightly harsher way of calling someone a dick. Now, I've never heard it actually reference a penis, though. Pecker, yes. Prick, no. But, prick also has another meaning in the US, and I assume everywhere. A term used to describe a quick poke at the skin with a needle or some other object: "The doctor will prick your finger to collect a small blood sample." Weird that it would be censored/removed. Anyway, I really like the original version of this a lot. The remix is okay, but the original is amazing with that almost Renaissance sounding instrumental.

Surprisingly I've already heard this out a time or two in NYC. Hopefully a good sign. Going by the massive callout scores "Waves" is receiving, hopefully that kicks in some doors. I think this has potential to be just as big (maybe bigger). If this were the pre-VEVO dominated Hot 100 days, I'd say this would have had an outside chance of Hot 100 #1 around Christmas. Of course, that won't ever be the case now that you need Tumblr-ready name familiarity to reach the top.
ANYWAY: I do think it's a bit too prude to remove the word "prick." While, yes, prick can mean a pretentious dick, that wasn't even anything that crossed my mind until this very minute despite reading the artist title a plethora of times between this past March and now.

This song is so addictive. The fact that Waves finally exploded could help this a lot. I don't think it will wait as much as Waves had to wait to start receiving good updates. The sales are already good for a song with so little airplay

YAS. This could have a Somebody That I Used to Know run this fall/winter. (Repeating myself from the thread in Global)

In America, "prick" is instantly identified as a synonym for dick. If people use it in a different context - the "prick of that needle," for instance - it's the type of thing that inspires giggles. And I feel like this is the case internationally as well. In any event, I think censorship is lame, but I also think the name is borderline embarrassing and really should be dropped. So it works out anyway. - On the song - it's very good. Not as soulful or interesting as Waves, but it also pops a little harder. I do think this Robin Schulz is getting away with some very basic "remixes" though - I don't see how that could have taken him more than 5 minutes to put together. Same with Waves - he's really just changing the tempo and adding a generic backing beat (I initially assumed he was composing the guitar licks, but nope, they're in both original songs).

And I feel like this is the case internationally as well. Scope my location man, I'm American! I'm well versed in the lingo of my own country; I maintain that neither a penis nor an arrogant smartass would be my first thought in terms of the artist's name. "Prick of a needle" inspires giggling? Really?? Maybe in the 6th grade... maybe... To be fair, he does have a good ear for piecing together obscure, varied songs under one style that is quite identifiably his. I will admit that I was caught off guard as well when I first realized that these two guitar licks (and others) were not his own creations though.

Curiously i think basic remixes is exactly what most songs need. I totally hated Cedric Gervais Summertime sadness, the song (the original is gorgeous) was unrecognizable. What Robin Shultz do here (and on Waves) is simply add his touch to already good songs. It's very difficult to change the tempo of the song and being faithfull to the original, Missing is a perfect example, but generally djs are more interested in add their personal touch than into knowing if that touch really is positive for the song

Looks like US promo is being handled by Big Beat/Roadrunner, which for the record was also the same combo behind "Rather Be."

I'm so glad this is getting a push. It's one of my favorite songs of the summer, and I really hope it'll take off. It seems as if house is starting to break through, so hopefully this one will help that.

Oh come on. We don't need to discredit The Prick either. Just because Billboard/Mediabase are a bunch of oversensitive asses doesn't mean we need to follow their example.

Ehh not a fan. I'm not a fan of "Waves" either, so maybe this type of dance music isn't for me?

Not looking good. America once again missing out on the huge worldwide hits It's too soon. Waves got 2 adds in its adds day, and now it's doing fine. It's doing great everywhere but it's not an splashy instant catchy song, so maybe with time it will explode. Of course it could end being one of those global hits that miserably fail when they try to break into the american market

Yeah, when it comes to breakthrough singles (with no "viral" aspect anyway) it always takes a long time for American radio to latch on. This may still end up being a big hit here; if it does it'll be a predictably slow climb. Time will tell.
