Whoever hasn't heard this in full volume through the headphones is missing out on life. The production during the chorus is nuts!

From Chart Beat:
Debut No. 39 "L.A.LOVE (la la)" Fergie Fergie tallies her first Pop Songs hit in four years, as "L.A.LOVE (la la)" debuts at No. 39. (It also starts at No. 40 on Rhythmic Songs; see below.) She scored five Pop Songs top 10s from her first solo album The Dutchess in 2006-08, including the eight-week No. 1 "Big Girls Don't Cry." She'd had last charted (apart from the Black Eyed Peas) as a guest on David Guetta's No. 24-peaking "Gettin' Over You" in 2010.

Normally I would say the near complete lack of initial sales is a big cause for concern, but this seems like the kind of song that is the definition of a slow burn hit so I'll hold off on the panic for now.

Fergie is a Leo woman, so I respect her, but I really can't sit thru this song, so I'm gonna go watch Grindhouse(Planet Terror) instead. Surprise it has that "hey hey" chanting in the backround. Is that like the new Hip Hop rap theme thingy?

I think the lack in sales is pretty simple...people aren't digging the song even if radio is latching on to it in the beginning to see how it goes. After all, this is a comeback from a older artist that has had a lot of success at the format. I think we will see the same type of response from Gwen but she's been everywhere since she joined The Voice so her response in sales will probably be a lot better and she may have a big hit if the song is actually good.

#104 on iTunes! :o This is bombing. I don't care how loud or what equipment you have to buy to make this sound good. I bet the label is freaking out. Radio won't support much longer if interest and/or callouts are poor. I think the intention for this is to try and be another Fancy, and the verses are good, but that chorus....
I own The Dutchess, but I can't imagine actually clicking the "Buy" button on iTunes.
Maybe it will do better on streaming than on sales.

Part of the problem is that there are other artists similar to Fergie such as Iggy Izalea,Nicki Minaj, and Becky G.It wasnt like this back in 2006-2007.

I think that she just needs to promote more, most people don't even know it's out.

I don't think its sales are that horrible for the amount of airplay and promo it has Ariana's latest is below the iTunes top 100 for example. Let's see how things go over the next couple of weeks.

Back in the Top 100 on iTunes. I do think many people don't know the song is out, though... regardless of that ad it had on iTunes. I don't think Interscope initially came out with a strong push for this song, which was smart to kind of test the waters. I'm sure as more people find out about it it'll slowly climb back up.

Let's wait for the impact of the video first and then she may perform at few TV shows (DWTS, Voice) and hopefully AMAs too. I've been listening to this a bit more and I'm liking it even more :)

I don't think that its time to freak out yet. The sales are terrible, but that could just be because nobody knows fergie has a song out. Due to the fact that this has been climbing the radio with literally no sales, the radio is obviously behind a Fergie comeback.
However, I am concerned because I don't think that the chorus is good. If this song fails, it will be for no other reason than a bad song.

Fergie actually has a singing voice. She shoulda gone a diferent direction than this Iggy Azalea and as someone mentioned; DJ Mustard, sound. Also you have to remember she was part of Black Eyed Peas. It could be she's sorta lost taking a artistic direction, so she took the safe popular sound of the moment. If this flops it will cause most mainstream Pop The labels want all the artists to sound the same. Hopefully she covers different styles on her new cd otherwise it could turn out like another Christina Aguilera "Bionic" 'meber that flop? And all cause she wanted to sound like Lady Gaga?

This might be why Gwen has virtually cancelled her lead single.

I guess that the current average age of Pulsers may have something to do with some of the comments in this thread. I really don't see much difference between this and London bridge. Musically both are simple songs, nothing too fresh or innovative for its time, showing Fergie's rap swag and singing abilities, even based on a city and inclusion of la la las as part of the song ;) Before Iggy's style, Gwen and Fergie existed and did that :) Also, the people's initial reaction to London was not good. People criticized Fergie A LOT. Even the video was panned. But she succeeded and managed to get the public'a favor soon. Also, London ended up being almost a novelty single. It quickly fell down the charts and was the song with shortest longevity among all singles bar Finally. And it was one of a rainbow of styles included in her album. Fergie never respected herself with her singles. All were really different and not because of lack of artistic direction. There was some cohesion to the album despite being eclectic. I have faith in Fergie, but of course nothing is set in stone. Radio can be fickle specially with older acts. Hope she succeeds--again!

Yea except this doesn't have any swag to it, like London Bridge or Hollaback Girl. This is just a bad rendition of a song that is supposed to make it big, but it falls flat. At least London Bridge was catchy. This is just pandering to to the point where she might as well say "please listen to this a million times and I promise you it will sound catchy after that."
