I don't care how long it's been since her last solo album. She had two big albums basically fronting BEP in the past 5 years. She's not comparable to Nelly Furtado. It's not even like this is off to a slow start. It looks like no one even cares at all.

Yeah, I definitely expected this to move faster on iTunes, but, at the same time, I feel that they could have done a lot more to launch this single. The industry has changed drastically since her last release, and even since the Black Eyed Peas' last two album eras. With the way things are now, she's one of those artists where I think should have just hit them with everything all at once or at least within one week; Hourly radio deal, released to all digital and streaming services, lyric video, music video, high profile performance, etc. I basically agree with everything you said except the video coming out the week of release. I think they should wait at least 2 weeks after a song is released to radio. I'm also Very surprised this didn't get a radio deal.

I kind of figured this wouldn't have a radio deal when I knew it was premiering the same day as One Direction's new single. I suppose top 40 radio didn't want two deals going on at the same time. But they just should have changed the premiere date then.

there is like no buzz at all around this single lol. i'm surprised it's still even in the itunes top 50 (albeit barely at #49).

Also, the fact that the label doesn't seem to be really pushing this at all-- no deal, no promo, no video, one small hidden iTunes ad-- makes me think they just threw this out there to test the waters. They figured why waste money pushing something if it's not going to ignite at least a little bit on its own. I guess this litmus test will tell them to head back to the drawing board.

Wow, people outside of Pulse are not giving Fergie a warm welcome back. What's wrong with everyone?

This is honestly just as cringeworthy as Run the World (Girls) and Big Hoops and Triumphant. It's not surprising at all to me why this isn't going anywhere.

Yeah, I didn't understand the really positive reviews on this board when it first leaked. From the reaction here, I thought I was gonna hear something amazing but it's definitely her worst single. I'm gonna need the album to bring the hotness tho because Dutchess was perfect.

Thank God I'm not crazy. I thought I needed by ears checked after reading the rave reviews on Pulse, only to be supremely disappointed. I've listened to it a bunch times, and it comes nowhere close to previous singles, IMO. I LOVE London Bridge, and this is no London Bridge. This feels like a true 'buzz' single to me - nothing more. I'm still optimistic for Fergie Ferg's new material....maybe cautiously optimistic at this point.

if that's the case then Fergie and her team should quickly move on to new song that has a massive appeal just like London Bridge or Fergalicious, before the minimal interest or buzz is gone !!

It has a hot beat and an infectious melody, which short of a killer chorus is about all one can expect. Fergie was NEVER known for being an artist of high quality. I feel like hindsight and nostalgia lead to the glorification of her 2006/2007 smashes- at the time they were only slightly less basic than this (hell, "Fergalicious" was SLAMMED when it first came out). The difference is that she was head of the class back then and now there's a whole new class in the hallways of CHR radio.

Yeah, the reason I didn't get why people were saying they didn't like this, while praising her older singles is that there's not much of a difference in quality or....anything. This song encompasses 95% of what all BEP and/or Fergie releases have been like over the past 10+ years - Hot beat, catchy, repetitive, annoying, and lyrical nonsense. And that's what I expected, even going by the title alone.

Pulse loves almost anything any female whose 40, over 40, or approaching 40 and has been in the business pre-2009 releases. I actually lold at how much people were praising her first album because if you look at past threads and polls, they're filled with posts about how Fergie (or methface as some actually referred to her, especially at the time) has the worst back catalog, how she looks desperate, how she sucks at doing her material live, etc.
Pretty much every criticism leveled here at Katy Perry or Kesha when she was having success was thrown at her with much more vitriol.
I still like the verses and hate the chorus. I loved London bridge on the first listen before the first chorus even finished, this is nowhere near that as a finalized product.

I love Fergie but sorry, the la la la la la in the chorus, is annoying.

I guess my problem is that I'm not even hearing the 'hot beat and infectious melody' - that's truly all I want/expect from a Fergie/BEP song. Maybe this will be a grower for me, and I'll come to enjoy it. I do enjoy the verses to a certain extent, however the 'Every city, every state, every country' section is awful (IMO), and comes close to ruining the whole song for me. Looking forward to what else she's got up her sleeve!!

I wonder how many people will come back to this thread, if the song starts to fly up the charts, and say: this song is such a grower, blah, blah, blah

As a huge Fergie fan (my username when I first registered was FergieFergFan) I wasn't at all convinced with the clip, nor with the song the first couple of listens. After the 3rd time, I started liking it a bit more. Now I can't get the "every city, every state, every country you know... all around the globe" part out of my head. I DON"T think it's better than any of the singles from The Dutchess, but I do think this could do extremely well and become a hit.

I like it a lot. I'm the worst at predicting whether a song will be a hit or not, but hope this one is.

I loved the clip (or at least the potential the clip had) but the full song left me kind of disappointed. I feel like it needs a remix of some sort. Like, this feels like a demo-version that they still need to finalize.

Glad to see thie top 50 finally. Should make top 50 rhythmic tomorrow. Starters list (stations 2-6 spins are missing) is broken, but with leaders only (stations that have spun it 7+ times) it has 337 spins. Starters will raise it some, and another day should push it top 50 rhythmic tomorrow.
Also has a few urban spins as well.

So after digesting this after hearing it on the radio for the first time, I love the verses but hate the chorus.

Just heard this on the radio, this definitely sounds great at a high volume while in the car. I'm all on board with this now, let's do this Fergie Ferg.
