I can't seem to play it using the link above, but it's now posted here as well: www.cmt.com/artists/blake-shelton/I'm loving this album! Lonely Tonight is currently my favorite track.

On first listen, "Lonely Tonight" feels like clearly the best song, but I did "South of Heaven" a lot too. Much better than I expected it to be.

Granted , I only quick sampled this but it doesn't sound amazingly different from his last two albums to my ears . Especially taking Blake's comments concerning this album....

No, but it's less 'bro' (and please don't confuse drum programming and loops with ANYTHING to do with 'bro') and alcohol-fuled than past stuff. To me there's clearly more 'old Blake' stuff on here too. roughstock.com/news/blake-shelton-brining-back-the-sunshine-album-review/Note: This is ALSO his first recording that he owns the rights to (Without buying back from Warner) outside of his Christmas album. So his new deal is like that of Kenny, Keith, Tim, and even Lady Antebellum. It's a partnership not just an artist on a label.

ok after getting my wal-mart copy early (they musta messed up hey im not complaning) and playing it like crazy the last few days heres my full ranking.
1. Good Country Song - this song says it all 2. Neon Light - i'm still very addicted to this 3. I Really Shouldn't Drink Around You - why is this not on the main album 4. Lonely Tonight - Ashley makes this song awesome 5. Bringing Back The Sunshine - like his version lot better 6. Buzzin' - can't put my finger on why i like this so much maybe the (Chilin' like a villian) line who knows 7. Just South of Heaven - Fantastic Lyrics 8. A Girl - Ain't it the truth 9. Messed Up - yes we do 10. Just Getting Started 11. I Need My Girl 12. Sangria 13. Pain 14. Anyone Else 15. Gonna
For single choices after "Neon Light" i could see these in no order "Bringing Back The Sunshine" "Just Getting Started" "Buzzin'" or the horrible "Gonna"
I'm gonna say that the next single will be the title cut it just feels like that to me

Love 2. "Neon Light" 3. "Lonely Tonight (feat. Ashley Monroe)" 8. "Just South of Heaven" 10. "Good Country Song"
Like 6. "Sangria" 11. "Anyone Else" *14. "I Really Shouldn't Drink Around You"
Meh 1. "Bringing Back the Sunshine" 5. "A Girl" 9. "I Need My Girl" *13. "Messed Up" *15. "Pain"
Dislike 4. "Gonna" 7. "Buzzin' (feat. RaeLynn)" 12. "Just Getting Started"
I'm not the biggest Blake Shelton fan, and this album doesn't do much to change my mind. There are a few clear standouts ("Lonely Tonight", "Just South of Heaven", "Good Country Song"). But the rest of the album is mostly underwhelming. Most of the songs feature overproduced choruses and uninteresting lyrics.
Blake kept calling this album a change of direction for him as an artist. "The whole album is searching for parts of me that I think have … not gotten lost along the way, but stuff that I haven’t addressed in my music as much as I used to." But Blake sounds at home on this record, almost to a fault. This is another Blake album about on par with his recent albums. 3.0/5.0
Single Predictions 1. "Neon Light" 2. "Lonely Tonight (feat. Ashley Monroe)" 3. "Buzzin' (feat. RaeLynn)" 4. "Just South of Heaven" 5. "I Need My Girl"
"Good Country Song", "Sangria", and "Gonna" are the other top contenders.

When I think of "Old Blake" , I think of songs like "Austin' , The Baby" , "Ol' Red" , "Goodby Time" ,"Some Beach" , or even "Home" & "The More I Drink". Again , I haven't sat down and really listened yet but I didn't hear anything like the above songs with the exception of maybe "Neon Light". Outside of "Boys Round Here" , I've never considered Blake as a "Bro" artist. I just hear him as someone that's been phoning it in since 2009.

Overall, the album is pretty good, I think it's an upgrade over Based On A True Story.... I can't stand Buzzin' though, I think it's awful, and I'm praying it's not a single. My singles prediction: 1. Neon Light 2. Lonely Tonight (With Ashley Monroe) 3. Sangria 4. Just South Of Heaven 5. Gonna
Sangria sounds like a good summer smash. Pretty much anything would do well for the 5th single, but I prefer Gonna.

Except for Buzzin' which for some reason I find annoying, I enjoy the whole album. It is not a surprise since Neon Light is now one of my favorite Blake Shelton singles ever.
Current favorites for me are Neon Light, Lonely Tonight, Good Country Song, Just South of Heaven and A Girl. Though not one of my favorites, Gonna is turning out to be one guilty pleasure.
Overall a good Blake album for my taste since I remember only liking a few songs from his last album.
Lonely Tonight or Just South of Heaven would be a good 2nd single.

Do tell. This is coming from the reigning C.M.A. Male Vocalist of the Year. Oh yes, you can see him on The Voice every week, too.

As much as radio loves him, he's never really been a HUGE seller. Not that he's sold poorly, but recently he hasn't been on par with his fellow heavyweights Aldean and Bryan in terms of sales.

I agree, but Based On A True Story... Debuted with 199k. That's a steep drop. I know some of that is because they rushed out the first single, but it still baffles me that Brantley Gilbert's last album sold more than double in its first week.

Even look at single sales. BOATS had 2 platinum singles (SBCIYD and BRH which was double) but the other three were only gold (still very good).
Compare that to Luke who has 4/5 singles gone platinum on CMP.

I think this is a really good album.
My faves are South of Heaven and Anyone Else. I hope his next single is "South of Heaven". I want to see Blake perform it at the CMA's. It's a really good song. I also like A Girl and almost the rest of the album are good too or okay. It's Walmart exclusive tracks are good songs too esp. Messed Up. He should have just released a deluxe edition. Probably the worst track in this album is Buzzin but its my guilty pleasure. I just hope they'll not release it as a single but probably they will. Ha.
I'm quite disappointed with the projected album debut sales. But that's how it goes in the music industry.

Another thing to consider here is that this is coming out during a crowded release schedule. In the last month or so, we've had new albums from Brad Paisley, Lee Brice, Dustin Lynch, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, Big & Rich, Lee Ann Womack, George Strait (live), and now Lady A too. In the next few weeks, there are several big albums coming out as well. A lot of people may have purchased several albums recently and simply don't want to shell out the money for other albums (or maybe they can't even afford to).
Generally Q4 releases can sell well, especially in November and December (as we approach the holidays), but with this fall being so incredibly packed, some of the biggest albums are likely to 'cannibalize' the other albums. And I think it's plain that the upcoming Aldean and FGL albums are going to dominate the next couple of months. Kenny sold fairly well, but Tim and Brad both saw sharp drops from their previous albums, and Lady Antebellum is only expected to debut with 70k or so. Compare that to Own The Night, which opened with nearly 350k just 3 years ago, and Golden, which debuted with nearly 170k in May 2013. Obviously Own The Night followed up their huge Need You Now era, but regardless, those are some sharp album-to-album drops for Lady A.
Anyway...I do agree that it's a pretty sharp album-to-album drop for Blake as well, but I think this album will have legs through the end of the year and beyond, assuming that his hot streak at radio continues (he doesn't necessarily need to hit #1 every time out...even coming close will keep this album selling).

Today I was thinking about how iTunes always had the bonus tracks but with Walmart selling Bringing Back The Sunshine with the three bonus tracks people may have backed off iTunes.

#1 country, #1 top 200 CD with 101,000 sold. Congratulations, Blake Shelton. Better than the 90,000 first projected.

Solid album. My favorite song is "lonely tonight", so I'm really hoping that gets released (would LOVE for Ashley Monroe to be part of a hit song, maybe it would lead to some solo radio success). I really enjoy those bonus tracks too, so I'm going to have to go to walmart for that deluxe edition...the only song I dislike is Buzzin, which is a shame since I like Raelynn, but the chorus is annoying.

My copy of this finally came today, and I think it's pretty good after a couple of listens. It's actually much better than I thought it would be. There are a few songs here that I can see being big hits, but with a bit more substance than many of Blake's recent hits. Most notably, "Lonely Tonight", "Sangria", "Just South Of Heaven" and "Good Country Song". I won't mind heating any of those in heavy rotation.

I want "Just South of Heaven" to be a single. It's perfect.
