Was this due to a reclaim for the Swift songs or something? Shake it Off obviously sold more than 100K copies last week...

Lol. If it ain't one thing it is another keeping Tay from reclaiming. Pretty sure it's a wrap for her at #1. Oh well, two weeks is better than one. :)
Meanwhile 140k for #1? Digital sales are abysmal these days. Smh.

Where is shake it off? Da fuq? Something weird must have happened related to the release of 1989. If only Billboard would, you know, provide some relevant detail amid the sea of worthless milestones and masturbation in its Chart Beat articles. No way Shake it Off didn't sell more than AATB last week. No way Welcome to New York only sold 84K. No way Out of the Woods is out of the top ten.

Could Take Me to Church make top ten this week? It was #3 on iTunes for quite a while. Although I don't want to it to, I say it could, easily. Expecting a big jump this week :(

This happened recently. My Everything, perhaps? Albums released on Monday have the "Complete My Album" pre-order sales removed the week prior, I guess because of how iTunes puts stuff up ~11 PM. However, the points for the songs sold without an album pre-order will still be there for Hot 100. 84k is what "Welcome to New York" sold without pre-order sales.

So Wait.."Out Of The Woods" is gonna fall from #18 to somewhere on the chart very far down. It looks like "Welcome To New York" will sell very low.So maybe top 70 debut then.No "Shake It Off" at #1.What A disappointment.

So Shake It Off sold less than 67'000 without pre orders? Can't see that.. If I'm following the above post correctly, that might not be all there is at play. Apparently, if someone purchased Shake it Off at any point and then "completed their album" this week, iTunes would *subtract* that sale from this week's number since it now is an album purchase rather than a single purchase. So the Shake it Off total for the week would be = This Week's Non-Pre-Order Buys - Anyone who Hit "Complete My Album." Based on how well 1989 is selling, I'd imagine that could even be a negative number. But maybe I'm still misinterpreting. It's weird, and, again, the type of thing BB should explain.

I was expecting this to happen next week since people completed their album this week? Weird.

Say SIO sold 200k this week. 25k were from new pre-orders, so 175k were actually purchased just as a single. Then, you subtract the existing pre-orders. Let's say 200k. So then "sales" for the week are actually -2k. However, the 175k is what will count towards the Hot 100. I was expecting this to happen next week since people completed their album this week? Weird. It happened with some other Monday release recently. I think it's just because iTunes updates ~1 hour early, so it's technically the week prior to release. But then you would think album sales would be split the 2 weeks, but they aren't. It's contradictive logic, but that's Billboard for you.

Sigh, looks like another week of All About That Bass on top. To the person who mentioned My Everything, the week that it was released, Problem did drop 7-13, it's biggest drop at the time, and Break Free dropped 4-7 (although I think that was more of the week after the big jump from the video causing that).

Any guesses as to what Hot Boy will jump to this week? Vines should not count as streaming. 7 seconds, can be watched multiple times effortlessly.

The good thing is, that for newer albums that have instant-grat tracks, there won't be any "negative" sales later on, as downloads that came directly from album pre-orders won't have been reported as sales.

What happened to the "it has to be the full, unedited song with a link to buy" rule? The official video only has 28M. Harlem Shake had no official video, and I highly doubt everyone put the buy link the description. For example

Well if those sales won't count towards the Hot 100 then Taylor's fucked. Not only will she not return to #1, she will quite likely fall out of the top 5 completely.

So... now she won't be in the top 2. Her 9 weeks straight in a row have just finished. LAME <.<

The only thing that makes me happy about this is that it means that either Animals or Don't Tell 'Em will make the top 5...

I heard the Complete My Album thing won't affect Hot 100 points so Taylor still has a chance @ #1.

So a lame song like "Hot Boy" could pass "Shake It Off' on the Hot 100 this week. Not fair at all.

Billboard needs to figure the instant grat out. doesn't make sense to me that a song you get while pre-ordering would count towards the Hot 100, while you're eventually going to get the rest of the album. You could look at it like it took a whole month for your album purchase to download. or however long before the release you pre-ordered.
anyways, hurry up with the charts, I don't feel like working.
