I am watching the doc. Not bad. I think she takes herself a bit too seriously but that is ok. I would like to see her in concert. She is very talented and I really liked Joanne. The best Gaga is the one where it is just her and the piano. I loved that version of Bad Romance she sang at Tony's birthday.

Fibromyalgia is a bitch. I feel for Gaga. And seeing her pain first-hand in her documentary was heartbreaking.

I have mixed feelings about the doc and it could just be the jaded cynic in me but let's not forget that Stefani has an acting background and, if I remember correctly, she even wanted to be an actress before a singer/musician. I think there are moments when that is obvious but overall, it was very strong. I love how it showed how tough she is and how she doesn't take any s**t. Her meltdown on the set of AHS was funny. Cuba's face was priceless. Edit: OMG. John Wayne just came on. THIS. KEEPS. HAPPENING when I go to make a post on Pulse. The artist in question comes on out of nowhere when my phone is on shuffle. And yeah, this song still knocks. Also, the documentary made me appreciate the album even more. I loved it the minute it came out but my respect has gone up. I loved when she played the title track for her grandma. I also love how her grandma was legit like "Stop being maudlin; it's been over 30 years." A- from me overall. I wish they had legit ended with the SuperBowl performance to remind everyone JUST how amazing it was.

I went into it expecting to cry a few times but I didn't at all. I almost teared up when she played Joanne for her grandma but she didn't even cry - that would have been my trigger. I think there's a lot to learn from this documentary about the back-end of any performer when it comes to writing and performing - but even when it comes to what happens between that. It's a lot of work and uncertainty and I appreciated that from this film. The downside is that I felt like a lot of it was to try to get people to feel bad for her. I mean, I already empathize with her situation and I've always felt people are hard on Gaga because she's Lady Gaga, but even with her health issues, people are hard on her. I think the film focused too much on trying to convince people of that, and maybe that's why I didn't get as much from as I expected - because I don't need to be convinced. I echo the sentiment that it upped my appreciation of Joanne the album though. I listened to it again over the last few days and I definitely like it more now than I did when it first came out.

Lots of people have also watched the Super Bowl performance, I think its views are up like 2 million since the documentary was released. I think Gaga comes out quite insecure and yet pretty strong in the documentary. She's overdramatic at times but it doesn't go too far imo. And she has lovely people around her, the partnership with Bobby Campbell seems great. Also: hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=308613GAGA'S STREAMING SPIKES AFTER FIVE FOOT TWO Lady Gaga is enjoying a streaming spike in the wake of the documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two bowing on Netflix. The film, taking viewers behind the scenes of a year in her life leading up to her Super Bowl LI performance, recently premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. The Netflix launch, however, has boosted no fewer than 10 tracks. Spotify reported a 53% increase in Interscope's "Joanne" songstress's streams as of the Monday after Five Foot Two's premiere (9/25). "Joanne" in particular boasted a 365% streaming increase since the Monday prior to the doc's release (9/18). "Hey Girl" had a 259% bump and "Sinner's Prayer" was up 238%. All 10 of the songs reported had at least a 100% increase. Gaga has taken a hiatus from performing for the foreseeable future, but you can stream her doc exclusively on Netflix, and we've included the trailer to whet your appetites below.

I liked the movie but it was no Truth or Dare. I would have liked it to concentrate more on a tour vs the build up to one event (that they don't even end up showing). I thought a couple scenes were strange. Like when she was in the office getting treatments and she had her phone out (taking selfies or something)...if I was in severe pain, I think my cell phone would be the last thing on my mind. And she broke her hip a couple years ago? How in the world does one of the biggest pop stars on the planet break her hip and it NOT be front page news? I do love that the movie seems to be getting Million Reasons back on the radar. Would love a Song of the Year nom at the grammys for that great song!

TBH though the doco had some great moments, it left me thinking she takes herself way too seriously. That is putting her hip and pain issues aside because I'm sure it's hell to live with. But everything else felt like she was just being so aware of herself. I expected her to be a little more sincere? Great watch nonetheless.

I would have liked it to concentrate more on a tour vs the build up to one event (that they don't even end up showing). They probably didn't have rights to include any of the actual halftime show. I liked the ending a lot myself. But I didn't watch it as a Super Bowl doc anyway, it was about the whole album campaign and what she does for work. Plus Joanne tour is still going, no way it could'e been released even in 6 months from now if it was about the tour.

I had to break up the doco into 3 segments because frankly, I found it to be a bit tedious. Having said that, I did find myself becoming more of a fan. I like Gaga more because of it.

I'm extremely curious about what she's going to serve for the next album. I hope she never does an album like Joanne again mostly because I find her voice extremely annoying in these kind of songs. I've always hated her ballads and the more acoustic stuff she's done and to me, ARTPOP is where she truly shined and was being herself 100%. With Joanne she clearly wanted to 'prove' her 'authenticity' as an artist and all that crap no one ever doubted her for but mostly I dislike it because I find the songs to be boring and her voice irritating. It has nothing to do with the genre cause I generally love country-folk-acoustic stuff, I just think it doesn't suit her at all.

During ARTPOP she was in drugs (she probably still is but the hyperbole is gone)

I don't agree AT ALL. I very much enjoyed Joanne and it stands as her only album that I don't skip any songs, except "Perfect Illusion". I thought it was the perfect showcase of her artistry (musicianship and vocals). That said, and now that she got that out of her system, I'm ready for dancepop Gaga to come back with a vengeance. I miss her being the HBIC in pop!
