Taylor Swift No. 1 on Hot 100, Selena Gomez, Mark Ronson Hit Top 10 Swift's 'Blank Space' reigns for a third week, while Gomez and Ronson land new top 10s.Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" leads the Billboard Hot 100 for a third week, while two songs enter the top 10, by Selena Gomez and Mark Ronson (with guest Bruno Mars). As we do each Wednesday, when the sales/airplay/streaming-based Hot 100 is compiled, let's run down the numbers behind the chart's top 10 and more. "Space," released on Big Machine Records and promoted to radio by Republic Records, holds at No. 1, powered by its fourth nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the Digital Songs chart with 342,000 downloads sold (up 13 percent) in the week ending Nov. 30, according to Nielsen Entertainment. Aiding the increase: Swift performed "Space" to open the 2014 American Music Awards (broadcast on ABC) on Nov. 23. "Space" is just the second song this year to string together at least three weeks of sales of 300,000 or more (after selling 302,000 last week and 328,000 the week before that). Pharrell Williams' "Happy" hit the 300,000-unit mark for seven consecutive weeks in March/April. "Space" rules Streaming Songs for a third week, with 14.2 million U.S. streams (essentially even from last week). On Radio Songs, the track pushes 5-3 with a 27 percent increase to 112 in all-format audience, good for the Hot 100's top Airplay Gainer award for a fourth straight week (marking Swift's best streak; she linked three weeks in a row as the top Airplay Gainer with "I Knew You Were Trouble." in early 2013). Up by 11 percent in overall Hot 100 points, "Space" boasts a nearly 2-to-1 points lead over the chart's runner-up, Meghan Trainor's former eight-week No. 1 "All About That Bass." She could soon score her second top 10: follow-up "Lips Are Movin" leaps 19-13.Hozier's "Take Me to Church" holds at its No. 3 Hot 100 peak. It tops the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart for a fourth week (3.8 million, up 1 percent) and Hot Rock Songs for a seventh week. Rounding out the Hot 100's top five, Swift's former four-week No. 1 "Shake It Off" rebounds 5-4, swapping spots with Maroon 5's "Animals" (4-5), which rose to No. 3 three weeks ago. "Animals" tops Radio Songs for a third week (137 million, down 3 percent). Selena Gomez blasts 20-6 on the Hot 100 with "The Heart Wants What It Wants," her new single from her first best-of set For You, which enters the Billboard 200 at No. 24. Following her performance of the song on the AMAs, it earns top Digital and Streaming Gainer kudos, vaulting 19-5 on Streaming Songs (9.2 million, up 75 percent) and 11-5 on Digital Songs (136,000, up 98 percent). It also debuts on Radio Songs at No. 42 (29 million, up 39 percent). With its surge, "Heart" ties for Gomez's highest-peaking Hot 100 hit. Her sole prior top 10, "Come & Get It," reached No. 6 in May 2013. Sam Smith's "I'm Not the Only One" holds at its No. 7 high on the Hot 100, with across-the-board gains in sales (117,000, up 17 percent), streaming (6.1 million, up 14 percent) and airplay (75 million, up 9 percent). Smith performed "Only" on the AMAs with rapper A$AP Rocky. Mark Ronson notches the Hot 100's other new top 10, as "Uptown Funk!," featuring Bruno Mars, roars 18-8. Following its first full seven-day tracking period after the Nov. 19 premiere of its video, the single enters Streaming Songs at No. 26 with a 77 percent uptick to 4.4 million. It accelerates by 50 percent in sales to 167,000 (holding at No. 3 on Digital Songs) and debuts on Radio Songs at No. 46 (28 million, up 34 percent). Quick quiz: what milestone does "Uptown Funk!" achieve with its top 10 ascent? (Answer just ahead.) Ronson reaches the Hot 100's top 10 for the first time as an artist (and in his first visit with such a billing). It's his third top 10 as a producer, however: he produced Amy Winehouse's "Rehab" (No. 9, 2007) and Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven" (No. 1, six weeks, 2012-13). Mars achieves his 12th Hot 100 top 10, and first since "Treasure," which peaked at No. 5 in August 2013. Dating to his first week in the top bracket (March 27, 2010, as a guest on B.o.B's "Nothin' on You"), he ties Rihanna for the most top 10s in that span. Quiz answer: amazingly, given the Hot 100's 56 years of history, "Uptown Funk!" is the first top 10 with the word "funk" in its title. It passes Elton John's "Grow Some Funk of Your Own," which reached No. 14 in 1976, and Parliament's "Tear the Roof Off the Sucker (Give Up the Funk)" (No. 15, also in 1976). Of course, the word "funky" has repeatedly inhabited the top 10, appearing in the names of seven top 10s, including the No. 1s "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry (1976) and "Funkytown" by Lipps, Inc. (1980). (Also notable in "funk" history: Da Brat's "Funkdafied" hit No. 6 in 1994, marking the last top 10 title with any variation of the word "funk" for 20 years, until this week.) Closing out the Hot 100's top 10, Tove Lo's No. 3 hit "Habits (Stay High)" drops 6-8 and Ariana Grande and The Weeknd's No. 7-peaking "Love Me Harder" slips 9-10 (although with a bullet). Grande and The Weeknd performed "Harder" on the AMAs as a medley with her earlier top 10s "Problem" and "Break Free."

I really like Jealous, it's going to come back to top 10 since it's high in itunes and radio is going up fast. It's a good song c: The Selena song, yes, when i first heard it, i was like okey, not god enough, but then the AMA's came and saw her performance, i saw ho much that song was deep for her, and i like it now C: And 14 weeks with Taylor and Megan at top 2. Has there been any other similar situation before?

#10 Love Me Harder - At least it gained. Should overtake Habits next week. #9 Habits - Surprised it's still hanging on, falling fast in sales. Lucky with its radio presence. #8 Uptown Funk - Expected this to jump higher, hmm. #7 I'm Not The Only One - I wouldn't be surprised if this has peaked (may get to #6). There are other songs that just seem to be making a bigger impact. #6 The Heart Wants What it Wants - Wow, a lot higher than I expected! Will fall a bit next week, but its radio seems to be gaining fast. #5 Animals - Wait, what? #4 Shake It Off - Well that was unexpected.. #3 Take Me to Church - Fall in sales this week. I've a feeling radio won't catch up fast enough and its peaked. Not that I don't really care, this song depresses me :/ #2 All About That Bass - LMAO how?! #1 Blank Space - Yay! I say it'll get 5 or 6 weeks on top.
#13 Lips Are Moving - Too similar to All About That Bass..

Tove Lo can drop down now. It already feels like that song doesn't belong anywhere near the top 10, even those it just peaked a couple weeks ago.

Has there been any other similar situation before? there's probably other examples, but the one that jumps to mind for me is Mariah & Whitney: there was one 1 week of Whitney's "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" at No. 1, and Mariah's "Fantasy" at No. 2 followed by 11 weeks of Mariah & Boyz II Men at No. 1 with "One Sweet Day" and Whitney at No. 2 with "Exhale (Shoop Shoop)" so 12 weeks total, just slightly less than what Taylor + Meghan have done.

In more straightforward terms Starships' record is spending its first 21 weeks in the top ten What's all the more incredible is that the song only peaked at #5 :O

Someone said 5-6 weeks total (so 2-3 more weeks) and that sounds about right to me. Either TMTC or UF will be the next #1 I think. Also notable that this is her longest ever consecutive reign on the chart so far.

Jennifer Lawrence Debuts on Hot 100: 'The Hanging Tree' Bows at No. 12The Oscar-winning actress charts her first hit, from 'Mockingjay, Part 1.' Jennifer Lawrence adds another honor to her already impressive resume: the Academy Award-winning actress scores her first entry on a Billboard chart, as "The Hanging Tree" debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 12.The song, released on Republic Records, is from James Newton Howard's score to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1, in which Lawrence stars. It opened in theaters on Nov. 21. (The set starts at No. 10 on the Soundtracks chart with 4,000 first-week copies sold, according to Nielsen Entertainment.) The plaintive ballad roars onto the Hot 100 with 88 percent of its chart points from sales. It enters the Digital Songs chart at No. 2 with 200,000 downloads sold in its first week (ending Nov. 30).The remainder of its points are almost all from streaming (2.1 million U.S. streams, which place the track just outside the 50-position Streaming Songs chart). The song logged a mere eight plays on U.S. radio last week (a shout-out to Pop Songs chart reporter KHKS Dallas, which spun it six times), but Republic is only just now launching it at all radio formats."Tree" was written by Suzanne Collins (author of the Hunger Games series of books) and the Lumineers' Jeremiah Fraites and Wesley Schultz. The song is heard in the film first as an a cappella performance by Lawrence (in character as Katniss Everdeen). Later, she's joined by a choir and orchestra.Lawrence, 24, joins an exclusive list of Academy Award winners who've charted on the Hot 100. She's just the 13th charted performer to win an Oscar in an acting category in the list's 56-year history, joining Julie Andrews, George Burns, Cher, Bing Crosby, Jamie Foxx, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Hudson, Burl Ives, Shirley Jones, Frank Sinatra, Meryl Streep and Barbra Streisand. Lawrence won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Silver Linings Playbook in 2013. Lawrence is the first Academy Award recipient for acting to reach No. 12 on the Hot 100 or higher since Foxx, whose "Blame It" hit No. 2 in 2009. She's the first woman since Cher, whose "Believe" ruled the chart for four weeks in 1999."Tree" is additionally the highest-charting Hot 100 hit related to any Hunger Games film (of three so far; the fourth and final movie is scheduled to open in theaters on Nov. 20, 2015). It bests Taylor Swift's "Eyes Open," from The Hunger Games: Songs From District 12 and Beyond, which peaked at No. 19 in 2012.As for Howard, 63, "Tree" marks his first Hot 100 hit. He's one of the most decorated composers in Hollywood history, having earned eight Oscar nominations. Among his scores: Pretty Woman (1990), The Prince of Tides (1991) and Maleficent (this year), along with the first three Hunger Games movies. Incredible.

They need to rush remixes for pop for it. It could turn into a huge surprise hit. Its sales are holding up really well.
Also, how the eff is Rude still getting 2+ million video streams in the US?

Nice another week for "Blank Space" at #1. Happy for Taylor on this. I have to admit I was wrong about Meghan Trainor. Her song "Lips Are Movin" is jumping so fast on the charts at the moment. I figured she was the next Carly Rae Jepsen. It looks like she may surpass Jepsen very shortly.

this looks to be the first time in a long time there was no Country songs in the top 40. maybe Taylor is having an effect of the loss in popularity of it as she was a few years ago with the gain in popularity.

Very interesting trivia fact about the word "funk" in the song's title making it in the Top 10 for the first time ever.

Very interesting trivia fact about the word "funk" in the song's title making it in the Top 10 for the first time ever. Well, the Black Eyed Peas had "Don't Phunk With My Heart", albeit spelled differently.

No country songs in the top 40. Mainly because there is nothing really that great coming from the other major artists in country at the moment. Blake Shelton and Lady A's latest singles aren't that great at all compared to their past singles in their career.
