She fell at the BRITS! Her cape wasn't untied and when they pulled it, it pulled her off the stage. She recovered nicely and was definitely not lip-synching. Maybe this will give the song buzz?!?!?!!?

I swear, it's a blessing and definitely not a curse, but everything that happens to her is so over the top and larger than life. I mean, imagine taking that kind of fall with the whole world watching. Her recovery was magnificent. A true professional.

Jeez us , Madonna. Just fell, off the stage singing at the Brit awards , thank God she recovered well. And continued the performance . The act went wrong as she was unclipping her cape from around her neck , the dancers pulled it off , but it had not been unclipping so she was pulled off the stage , down the steps !. Could have been so much worse .

People are also mentioning J.Lo's fall in 2009 at the AMAs.
Anyway, now M knows how her earring felt when it was tossed at the Oscars in 1991 (OK, I'm just being silly)

I haven't watched the clip -I'm going for dinner so won't be able up until 3 hours from now- but I'm already hurting based on the descriptions! If there's any pro to this fall... Could it become viral and help her enter the hot 100?

Don't take this the wrong way, but that fall could be what the era needed. Stuff like that goes viral. It's free promo. Everyone will surely talk about it and want to watch.

Well, you KNOW that the more cynical types will say it was orchestrated as her latest publicity stunt... Just wait for it, lol

Well, you KNOW that the more cynical types will say it was orchestrated as her latest publicity stunt... Just wait for it, lol A number of my friends who used to like Madonna think that it was an orchestrated stunt on the basis that they felt she fell a certain way. One would think that given how much she performs and sometimes her choreography is really crazy sometimes, she has to be trained in how to fall properly to minimize potential injury to herself.

That's absurd. As if a fall would make this song a hit.

Come on it's obvious it was a legit fall, i don't think Madonna would put the possibility of hurting herself just to make her song a hit plus you can notice that she started untying the cape very quickly before falling, she knew that something will go wrong after that!

I just looked at it again. You're right. She executed a back bump; legs up, arms to the sides and falls back. She tucked her chin into her chest so she didn't hit the back of her head. But, like you said, I'm sure she's trained on how to fall properly.

This isn't Gone Girl, she didn't stage it (no pun intended)

I'm sure it's not staged. She's likely trained on how to fall properly just in case an accident happens. If she gets injured on tour that can cost millions. Had she hit the back of her head, she could have gotten a concussion.

How pathetic that people would actually think she staged this. It's a sad world we live in.

Love this woman even more now! A true performer in every sense of the word. I also agree with Veni and think this is a blessing and not a curse. At least no one can say she was lip-synching.

^It's only human. I never laugh when I see someone fall because I imagine the pain (probably also why I have a hard time watching bullfights, etc.) but then I have friends who think it's the funniest thing.

Is it sad that I laughed? Kinda honestly…. I do not get joy out of seeing something like that happen to people to be honest. I guess if it was a tiny misstep it could be a little funny, however the type of fall she had she really could have gotten hurt.

Well I mean it wasn't like I was laughing maliciously and wanted her to get hurt, but I did giggle when I saw it happen... That, and I knew she was fine because the incident had already occurred when I checked it out.

After at least 2 days of no spins, it looks like 99.5 in dc played LFL around 11:30 pm Wednesday night !!
I also thought the fall was brutal and give madonna major props for moving forward w the rest of the performance. After the dust settled, I kept thinking about the Pixar movie "the incredibles" and the scene where one of the super heroes was choosing his new super hero outfit and was warned "no capes" .

That was not a fall, she was pulled backwards with the cape around her neck and she hit hard. I was literally stunned. And then she quickly continues with the performance which was better than the Grammys. And she smiled all the time. The words to the song ironically fit the terrible mishap. She carried on. Professional and what a trouper. Love her more.

I heard it. It was during a program where they literally play what the callers ask for. They commented on all the Madonna fans calling in. I actually like the song, much to my surprise. I'm not a Madonna fan in the slightest.

It's very natural to laugh when othe people fall (i sometimes even laugh when i fall myself), it's only a problem if you keep laughing when it's clear the other injured him or herself. Anyway, falling from stairs is a serious matter, you can seriously injure yourself, and believe me, when you reach certain age falls are not the easy to recover. She is really a pro to continue singing (and the fall at least proved she was singing live), and hopefully she is perfectly ok

I love reading all the idiots' comments on Facebook posts (US Weekly, TMZ, etc.)... "This proves she lip syncs," "she can't even make it through a show without falling... Retire!" Clearly they don't watch the clip at all, let alone the whole performance.
