"Devil Pray" is good, but, yes, "Ghosttown" makes a better single choice. Not that it matters, chartwise, as anything will struggle- I just want a strong video. :) LFL's video is well-done and looks good, but it's not really a buzzworthy clip.

Ghosttown deserves a cinematic David Fincher treatment

Ghosttown is radio-friendly, though. D-Pray is not.... The hook, melody, and production of "Devil Pray" is radio friendly, but definitely not the lyrics and subject matter. The song would mash perfectly with Train's "Angel In Blue Jeans" and Who Is Fancy's "Goodbye."

Would David Fincher even do a music video again?

He just did "Suit & Tie" in 2013. I didn't know he had done so many until I googled him.

Guys... LFL is it when it comes to any potential US chart success. Those hoping for "Ghosttown" to do well, a few facts:
- Madonna has not had a non-lead single outperform a lead single since "Bedtime Stories" 20 years ago (or 18 years if you decide to count "Evita') - Madonna has not had a non-lead single hit the top 40 since "Music" nearly 15 years ago - Madonna has only had one song without features hit the Hot 100 in the past 9 years ("Celebration" nearly 6 years ago -- you can make it two if you count "Give it 2 Me" as Pharrell wasn't credited despite providing vocals and being in the video)
I'd love for Madonna to have a smash again but if she can't do it with "Living for Love," it ain't gonna happen with "Ghosttown" either.

Even an underperforming single is fun for the fans. We get a video, a couple performances and maybe some promo.

Devil Pray >>> Ghosttown as a song and as a single. But like others have pointed out, it really doesn't matter. If this failed to do anything the chances of any follow up doing something are slim to none.

Are there any industry predictions about the debut week numbers? Given that the album has been all over the internet for months now I think selling close to 100k will be a relief but I wouldn't be surprised if it does like 70k in the end.

^^^I thought the pre-orders alone were around 60k. I think it would do more than 10k beside pre-orders.

Hey, I'm delighted with#26! Wish she had that in the US! LFL now # 28 on UK I tunes . I cannot see this going up from 26 on the Official weekly chart on its second week . Considering the nationwide airplay , this is a poor performance , previous singles did not get the airplay this is getting . 989 plays ( Erick Morillo remix version ) PLUS 979 plays ( standard version )

A few posters keep expecting Madonna to smash in Europe or elsewhere... Reality check: the last time a Mafonna song smashed way more outside of the U.S. was Hung Up, I believe. Someone can correct me, but MDNA differed from previous albums in that it and its singles underperformed worldwide.

According to Billboard its iTunes preorders alone were 60,000 a month ago.

Guys come on logically she won't be selling less than 100K if the pre-orders alone are 60K then definitely she will sell at least 120K

Billboard just announced that they'll be doing the album redemption thing with the tour ticket sales again just like with "MDNA". She should definitely be able to open with 200K+ now.

Not all dates will be on sale to the general public for the opening week, though. Some go on sale March 16- so, there ill be possible redemptions from presales this week and then when some go on sale next Monday.
Tickets for MDNA Tour went on sale more than a month before the album release (announcement came Feb 6, album was released March 26), which is not the case with this album.

How long has it been since she's released an AC-friendly song that even non-fans would think was 'age-appropriate'? Was it Take a Bow? I think a power ballad like 'Ghost Town' might not follow the other songs into oblivion. Yes, it's a long-shot, but you never know what songs will click with audiences.

^But, AC radio has completely changed. How many times do I have to say this?
Go look at the current AC chart. it's no longer Elton John/Celine Dion/Josh Groban/Michael Buble/slow songs.
It's all established Top 40 hits.
Some non Top 40 hits do sneak onto the chart, but it's rare. I think the last one was Cher's.
A slow song does not guarantee AC radio airplay.
Interscope is going to have to push it at AC radio.
They didn't even try at Hot AC/AC with LFL.
