Is Madonna really num #16 in the UK? I thought she was huge through out Europe? It's been underperforming worldwide: Living For Love#17 United Kingdom #19 Ireland #26 Brazil #27 Taiwan #35 Argentina #35 Italy #35 Macau #40 Israel #40 Spain #42 Ecuador #42 Poland #44 Portugal #48 Bulgaria #52 Czech Republic #55 Belize #56 Lebanon #58 Lithuania #60 Finland #61 Germany #68 Peru #70 France #70 Ukraine #71 Mexico #74 Malta #76 Jordan #79 Austria #87 Hong Kong #88 Turkey #95 Malaysia #103 Luxembourg #103 Switzerland #109 United Arab Emirates #124 Belgium #126 Norway #128 Egypt #132 Thailand #140 Singapore #155 Slovakia #167 Saudi Arabia #169 Australia #170 Russia #172 Venezuela #180 Paraguay #190 Belarus #191 United Kingdom #196 Latvia #197 Denmark #199 Qatar #1074 United States

Radio 1 were bumming her not long ago, why the sudden backlash? They stopped playing after "Celebration."

So, after the first seven-day push out of the picture, and after most big stations (mostly iHeart) didn't continue playing it thereafter, it had 691 spins in the last week- could be a lot worse (look where it was at before the push). The rolling total is still being measured against that big week, but with each day, those days will drop out of the LW numbers. howard- the Ross program airs Saturday, the 14th, so it probably won't have a big impact for that particular week. Currently at 16 on UK iTunes (with the standalone at 193). Yep, just watched J Ross show and NO Madonna , but we had Kanye West singing another one of his c**p songs . She had recorded the interview after the Brits assumed it would be shown tonight , how odd ?? .

A few iHeart stations continued to spin through last Saturday and Sunday, so I expect the next two updates to reflect spin losses, but much less severe. When all the dust has settled, by my count LFL will be spinning on around 50 stations and should stabilize near 600 spins. I don't think the label is going to push this anymore, so major regrowth appears unlikely at this point. It is on a good number of small market indicator stations and is starting to pick up a lot of the medium market stations on the pop panel as well. This week's BDS chart report would suggest otherwise; it still hasn't cracked the Indicator Top 40. Wasn't among the most added songs of the week, either. Reports indicate a good number of small-market stations are spinning LFL regularly: KAZX Four Corners KCDD Abilene KKBR Billings KKDG Durango KKOY Chanute KMGJ Grand Junction KQID Alexandria KQKY Kearney KTXY Columbia KUUL Quad Cities KZIA Cedar Rapids WAZO Wilmington WBIZ Eau Claire WCIR Beckley WDAY Fargo WEOW Key West WJYY Concord WNUZ Greencastle WPVL Dubuque WQGN New London WQKX Sunbury WQZX Cumberland WSKS Utica-Rome WSOY Decatur WTOK San Juan WVAQ Morgantown WXZO Burlington WYSX Ogdensburg WZNS Fort Walton Beach

Thanks, botox- don't forget WBHT in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, pa. ;) Wolfy, it's currently 275 on U.S. iTunes, not 1,075. (it had dropped to the 600s mid-week). I do wonder how much impact album-release week will have on streaming. When MDNA was released, both GMAYL and GGW ranked among the top 100 On-Demand Songs.

Wolfy, it's currently 275 on U.S. iTunes, not 1,075. (it had dropped to the 600s mid-week). You're right, are there two versions of LFL charting in the U.S.? I'm pretty sure I saw it at 1075. I either confused it with another RH song, or two versions are charting. Two versions are charting in the UK. I'm guessing in the US also.

The ONLY thing that can save this era is if somehow magically the album debuts with over 500,000 copies sold in the first week. If she has a huge Drake/Beyonce like interest in the first week then radio and people will be back on board. Don't underestimate the power of her old mature audience going out and buying the CD the week it comes out, plus months of pre-orders. I hope it can reach those high numbers.

The large daily declines have ceased.
Top 40 34 46 MADONNA Living For Love 655 1447 -792 1.952
-36 Spins +15 Bullet -0.362 Audience
Wolfy- unlike the UK, there is no standalone for LFL. When the remixes were released, a few charted in the top 1,500 for a time, but that wqas only in their first few days.
Quick-Cut Airplay 2.22m (-0.367m)

She doesn't need to debut with 500k for success . With the way album sales are nowadays , a total of 375kish wouldn't be bad for her . She isn't always going to get gold albums , and many artists would love 300k+ total

I think it's unlikely, but given that BB has a lot of madonna fans, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to make all the Brit "madonna falls" videos count for streaming to just get her a week on.

I'm not saying it will happen or it wont what I'm saying is that if there's a surprising huge amount sold in the first week it will make the industry heads take a second look at the album and era and it will spark interest into keeping it going longer...if they smell money...
However, if it debuts 70,000-100,000 the era will be D.O.A.

br- lots of videos of the fall indeed have the LFL audio. But, I can't see how Billboard would obtain info on the stuff not categorized as "Music," unless it specifically requested it from YouTube (and other outlets).

I do think it's unlikely, but I would imagine it's not a major technical challenge if they were able to get streaming numbers for the thousands of Harlem Shake videos out there.

Madonna had better think of something Kelly Clarkson is having an album release party
that will be streamed across iheart radio stations Monday for her Album due Tuesday.
If Madonna doesn't do anything Kelly will have a number 1 Album 2 weeks straight!

^How so? Clarkson's not expected to debut with HUGE numbers, and second-week declines usually are 70% or more (even with streaming and TEA in the mix).
br- I inquired about it. Whether I get a response or not remains to be seen. :)

Whether I get a response or not remains to be seen. :) I am truly guessing!! I have seen her in interviews and promotions. This morning she did an interview on CBS highly rated 'Sunday Morning Show' plus there was multiple commercials that aired during the show. It is truly about promotion, she may surprise everyone and do better than expected. That wouldn't be a total shock she is hardly an unknown commodity! Madonna needs her own album release party,tv commercials, the whole gambit, right about NOW!

^If Clarkson's album opens with 150K, that would be quite solid. Looking at how her last few albums have opened, and that the first single isn't huge, her album's not likely to sell 250K or more in its first week.
In any event, take a sedative and just enjoy the music. :)

Debuts at #26 in the UK, becoming her 71st Top 40 there. Disappointing , after being at # 2 on I tunes . Have they counted the two remix versions that are also charting on I tunes ? .

^It became available sometime on Wednesday, so it wasn't a full week. But, the single's seen disappointing results in most markets, with the UK placement probably being one of its highest rankings. The handling of the release hasn't helped, either.
Madonna posted an image of her from the Brits (just as she's ready to fall back), on a board, with the text "I believe I can fly." Love the sense of humor.

:tweet from the Official charts: Debuts at #26 in the UK, becoming her 71st Top 40 there. Disappointing , after being at # 2 on I tunes . Have they counted the two remix versions that are also charting on I tunes ? . I don't think so (re: disappointing). I mean, the track was available for only four days in the UK, as HolidayGuy mentioned, and a Top 40 peak there was expected. However, I thought this was mentioned before, but the fact that it reached at #2 with the version included on Rebel Heart on iTunes wasn't a guarantee that this was going to reach the Top 20 or, even, the Top 10 on the Official Singles Chart. As far as I know, instant grats aren't eligible for the singles charts, unless you purchase the song by itself there. The suddenly jump from the track on Wednesday before the performance was because the song was added on the pre-order and it wasn't because people were purchasing the track by itself. However, the reason why it stayed until Friday or Satuday (I don't know which day exactly) in the Top 10 was because either people were buying the track or people were pre-ordering the album. As a consequence, if you bought "Living for Love" from the album version (spending the £0.99), it benefitted the track, but if you pre-ordered the album and you got instantly the track, it benefitted the album instead. In this case, the best scenario was people buying the standalone release instead, but I think it didn't do too much besides breaking into the Top 100 on iTunes. By the way, all the remixes are counted too.
