Artist: Big & Rich Single: "Run Away With You" Writers: John Rich, Michael Ray Album: GravityLabel: Big & Rich Records/New Revolution Add Date: January 19th, 2015 Source: Big & Rich facebook (thanks to jhomes87) Thanks to Jamie for pointing this out in the Upcoming singles thread. I actually missed their visit with Storme Warren this morning and I new they had an announcement - But I was sure it was to confirm "Lovin' Lately" as the next single. I guess they changed their minds, or perhaps Big Machine said no for right now? In any event, this means Atlantic/Warner Music artist Michael Ray gets his first co-writing credit released. Chart Run: 52* - 49* - 47* - 46* - 43* - 42* - 40* - 40* - 39* - 38* - 38* - 35* - 33* - 34* - 35* - 35* - 34* - 32* - 33* - 33* - 30* - 29* - 28* - 27* - 27* - 27* - 24* - 23* - 23* - 23* - 23 - 23* - 21* (Mediabase)

Would be nice for Big & Rich to land back to back top tens for the first time in their career. Will a C.M.A. Vocal Duo Award be in the cards (I know, Florida Georgia Line is unstoppable at this time)?

Really like this one. Their album is one of my favorites this year and I'm generally not a B&R fan. I'd love to see this have a nice chart run (hopefully a bit faster than "Look at You", but that's just wishful thinking I'd say).

Will a C.M.A. Vocal Duo Award be in the cards (I know, Florida Georgia Line is unstoppable at this time)? The duo category is usually starved for nominees, so I'd think any duo even charting at country radio would be a shoe-in for a nomination unless their music is considered "bro country," which isn't the case for Big & Rich, so they should definitely secure a nomination although I'm sure they haven't moved the needle enough to win. I'm also quite surprised that "Lovin' Lately" isn't the next release. That seemed like a pretty likely smash hit. This also sounds really radio-friendly and a lot more likely to be taken seriously than a lot of Big & Rich's past radio material, but unlike "Lovin' Lately," I can imagine a situation where this single gets lost in the shuffle especially if sales are as low as "Look at You."

I too think this one won't do nearly as well as "Look At You". I actually would have said the same thing about "Lovin' Lately" since I think it has more to do with Kenny and John's label situation, competition and past history. They've always had trouble getting their subsequent singles from albums to do well. New Revolution will earn a new found respect from me (and they already have it for the success of "Look At You") if they can get this top 20. I agree with you that a "lost in the shuffle" scenario might happen here as I always saw "Look At You" as a one time thing and wouldn't mean that they would get more top 10's from this album. And yes, I am the same person who predicted "Look At You" would only go top 40 and nothing more.

I'm very surprised "Lovin' Lately" isn't next. It seemed like we've "known" about that for a while now but whatever...
I don't see this doing that much. The song actually bores me a little and doesn't strike me as the best choice for the second single. "Brand New Buzz" has a lot more life to it and would be more likely to break out at radio, although I'm not sure anything they released would go Top-20.

This song doesn't sound all that different from "Look At You" IMO. I too see this getting lost in the shuffle, and doubt it peaks past 30. I'd also imagine the sales for this one will be quite poor.

Yeah. Agreed with the above post. I don't see how they didn't release "Thank God For Pain"/"Lovin Lately"/"Brand New Buzz"...this one puzzles me.

Not releasing "Lovin' Lately" is a mistake, imo. That seemed like it could've been a big hit for them, and unless Tim & his team/label decided to revoke permission to release this, I'm surprised they've switched the follow-up to this. I'm only familiar with "Look at You" and "Lovin' Lately" from the album, but after listening to "Run Away with You" just now for the first time, I'm a little underwhelmed. It's not a bad song, but it's not a particularly great one either, and I feel like "Lovin' Lately" is far superior and it certainly wouldn't hurt their chances to have a single with Tim McGraw's name on it. This one's just kinda "there" for me and I don't see this catching on the way the lead single did, though I don't think it'll outright bomb the way "Party Like Cowboyz" did. I'm predicting this'll make Top 40, maybe Top 30?

It's one of my two favorites on the album ("This Kind Of Town" being the other) but there's no shot it will ever be considered as a single. It's just too country for today's radio. I completely agree though that "Lovin' Lately" should have been next but "Run Away With You" is not a bad song - just doesn't stand out enough for them to not get lost in the shuffle which @daydrinker, dm2081, and I have all eluded to.

This isn't a bad song by any means... I just feel like there's stronger material on the album. "Lovin' Lately", "Brand New Buzz", "Lose A Little Sleep", and "That Kind Of Town" would all be solid choices, IMHO.

Quite interestingly, this album track is fourth in streams on Spotify. The ones ahead are "Lovin' Lately" and "Brand New Buzz," which makes me wonder if there are particular reasons for skipping those two. As sabre14 suggested, maybe Big Machine didn't give some sort of necessary consent for the release of a song featuring Tim McGraw (though only instrumentally as far as I can tell) and perhaps the duo is trying to avoid releasing bro-country and anything similar in theme to a lot of their past singles to radio right now that they've just started to get some radio momentum.

I've never been a Big & Rich fan by any means ("Save a Horse" is a guilty pleasure and I love "Lost in this Moment", but that's it), but I surprisingly loved "Look at You". However, I wrote it off as a fluke as I didn't think B&R was capable of putting out more than 1 good song every 10 years. But I listened to "Lovin' Lately" when it was rumored to be the 2nd single and I loved that even more than "Look at You", so I was bummed to discover this thread saying that "Run Away With You" is in fact the new single. But then I gave that a listen today, and although I still believe "Lovin Lately" is much better, this is another great song from them. They're still terrible vocalists, but I am absolutely stunned that there's any, let alone at least 3, good songs on a Big & Rich record. I'll have to check out the rest of "Gravity" as B&R are 3 for 3 from what I've heard so far.

He won a very, very little watched show The Next on the CW. John Rich was a mentor and a record deal to Atlantic was granted. He has been sitting on the roster since winning the show I think at least a couple years....just in case you didn't know.

I've known about him for a long time as well, but for 99% of country fans, he's new.

It's an okay song...but I don't think it's going to stand out in a crowd and will get lost in the shuffle. I love Big & Rich and this song is definitely not bad, but their material used to be really unique, so songs like this and "Look At You" seem pretty generic to me.

maybe Big Machine didn't give some sort of necessary consent for the release of a song featuring Tim McGraw (though only instrumentally as far as I can tell) Tim doesn't play anything. The couple times I've seen him "play" guitar he was clearly faking it.

Music Row has it as well. Only competition thus far on that day is Republic's A Thousand Horses and Arista's Logan Mize. Though that day is Martin Luther King Day, so the add numbers won't be published til the 20th. Edit: Delivered to radio today via Play Mpe as well

Well even though it was a Monday holiday this week, plus lots of competition, "Run Away With You" only got 12 adds on impact day. I knew it would be rather low but not that low. They were going to fight an uphill battle no matter which song they released as the second single, but "Run Away With You" (while a good song) just is too run of the mill. With how stacked the first quarter can get with new releases, I don't see this hitting for Big & Rich.

I knew this wasn't going to do anything for them. Not releasing "Lovin' Lately" was a total mistake. Interestingly enough, this did break onto the chart this week though, so it must've gotten some decent spins from those select few that added it.

Their first single didn't exactly start off 'gangbusters' either. While I don't know if they'll sniff Top 10 again (unless they get the OK from Tim McGraw to release "Lovin' Lately), I do think they can scrape the Top 20 with this. sabre14, I don't know where you got the ADDs info from but it got 39, #2 behind Zac Brown Band's "Homegrown" on Mediabase (unless you were talking Billboard stations only).

I'm a fan of this song but I kind of wish they would've picked "Brand New Buzz" as the new single.

Yeah, sabre14, I'm not sure where you got your adds # from because this actually got an impressive 39 adds today, which is 2nd most-added. :) So far it's gotten some good early support at a couple of big market stations (notably WWKA in Orlando and KSCS in Dallas).

Lol, oh, well 39 is much, much better. Maybe this won't do too bad after all. That actually seems quite impressive given their label situation and them not being an A-list act.

I swear to God it said 12 earlier today (someone please back me up on that). I looked it up earlier while at school and I promise that along with all the others said lower numbers. I had a feeling there was something wrong but I went ahead and put my neck out there and was let down by the people at All Access again. I don't lie. Lol rsmatto I want to know that too. Edit: All Access only had some of the stations up earlier today and changed it around mid-afternoon, likely something to do with the holiday yesterday. So every song that had adds this week were updated with different adds twice.
