I hated Call Me Maybe when it was charting, but it randomly grew on me a lot in the past year. Alright, I'm curious.

Well I have had to wait longer for artists u have had to wait for so I win. I'm pretty excited about this too I feel bad that Carly had such a huge song and then not muxh. That has to be disappointing . I'm excited she is incorporating more folk and citing artists like Kimbra as reference. I found her last album almost unlistenable because of the overtly pop production.

Yesssss get that promo girl. But then this makes the adds date make very little sense... Well, the adds date hasn't been officially announced by the label - it's just on All Access and FMQB (which don't always get the most up-to-date information). If she is indeed performing on Monday (as in, it's not a pre-tape...and ABC announcing it makes me think it's definitely not a pre-tape), I don't see any scenario in which they don't release the song next week. And if they release the song next week, it's going to get airplay next week. So even if the 3/24 impact date is legit and stands, I'd imagine it will be a Blank Space/Style situation of effectively impacting weeks before its "impact date" (unless the world cares less about Carly Rae than we think it does). Edit:Kimmel as well next week (3/5). It's happening. There's a banner going around on some radio stations' social media accounts (it looks like one of the cheap AllAccess or promo email ads, but I haven't spotted it myself) that reiterates the 3/24 impact date but says it's premiering at radio at midnight on 3/1 (night of 3/1, morning of 3/2).

Cover artwork ( via): (what a terrible tweet-to-unlock campaign: "I really like ___ ___ ___" led to such entries as "I really like barebacking" and "I really like Cheek To Cheek." lmao) ETA: yas it's out Monday.

The clip sounds cute! A bit on the Radio Disney side imo, but I will reserve my final judgement come release day!

Not to put a ton if pressure on her, but I think either she hits with this or she's done. The label has done a ton and what else could they do for a future song?.? Really make or break stuff here.

Based on the clip, it sounds good, but not totally into it. I need to hear the full song before I declare anything.

"I Really Like You." Could she have picked a more uninspired title for a first single?

This sounds like this is going to be a guilty pleasure. The clip is cute, but idk if it could do anything if the sound is like that. I'll reserve full judgement until Monday.

That clip sounds legitimately straight out of the 80s. I liked it aside from that totally uninspired chorus; definitely no "Call Me Maybe". Even "This Kiss" had a better hook.

So, she's turning 30 this year and her song has a hook that consists of "I really really really really really really like you?"
Really really really really?

So, she's turning 30 this year and her song has a hook that consists of "I really really really really really really like you?" Really really really really? this complaint pops up every so often for various pop acts, and I don't really understand or agree with it...at all. a.) an act's target demographic isn't necessarily (and often isn't) their own age group. most mainstream pop acts, as far as I understand, primarily target the pre-teen and teen audience (while ideally getting others to buy in as well, of course, but they're not the target audience) b.) I really hate the implication that artists need to stick to some approved list of songwriting topics and styles once they hit a certain age. I'm not sure if you have any actual interest in CRJ as an artist, but she has plenty of songs in her catalog that sound nothing like CMM or this (just check out her debut album.) I'm glad that she's still doing fun, light, fluffy pop too, and I don't think an arist should ever be prohibited from making carefree, "immature" bops at any age

Isn't Katy Perry 30 Years old and was singing "Roar" at the Super Bowl early this month.Basically Carly is going for what is catchy for this comeback. She has been out of the public eye for sometime in the USA.
