it's not nearly as good as "Latch," and I don't see it doing nearly as well either. Keep in mind that "Latch" only went to #11 in the UK and flopped in much of Europe. It's only the US/Canada where "Latch" smashed, and to be honest, we're not Disclosure's primary market. It's definitely going to smash where it's supposed to.

Fantastic song, hopefully Capitol is going to give it a heavy push.

Isn't this an Interscope release?

"Latch" >>>> this.
Hopefully it grows on me because I love both Disclosure and Sam Smith, but this bored me on the first listen.

Isn't this an Interscope release? I received this song from different promotion panels, all senders are under Capitol's scope.

This is similar to their other collab "Together" with elements of MJB's "Right Now". I was jamming as soon as the beat dropped

I definitely thought "Right Now" was coming on when I heard it earlier this morning and that's not a bad thing. I was grooving. And that chorus is strong!

I dig it. I like "Latch" more, but that one would be hard to beat. This is still great.

This is really good and I prefer this over "Holding On" to be honest. Isn't this an Interscope release? No. As TroublemakerOlly posted, they are with Capitol now. They were previously with Interscope (that's the reason why I wrote in the OP that the new release from them was mentioned by PlayIGA later last year) until the announcement of Caracal, as you could see in the article from HDD in June below. From HDD:

That's interesting. They were with the Cherrytree imprint I believe so perhaps it was easier for them to secure a deal that let them make such a move so early.

I knew people would compare this to "Latch" right away, which is why I criticized Disclosure and their handlers for releasing the Sam track first.
But to say this isn't as catchy as "Latch"? Quite the opposite. It was more the whimsical vibe of "Latch" that got me on first listen. It took a few repeats before the chorus really stuck, which is almost unimaginable now that it's been in high rotation on six US radio formats for the past year and a half, but it was a sleeper hit afterall.
"Omen" is only a few hours old... of course you're going to remember "Latch" better... NOW! Strictly in terms of first impressions though, this new song definitely has a more memorable hook and feels poppier. That's not to say I think it's better than my much revered "Latch," but it's certainly more of an in-your-face radio song.

Glad they have a new label. The label didn't do anything with the last campaign...not even attempting to put out a 2nd single after such a big smash was silly. White Noise with AlunaGeorge should've been given a shot.
Re Omen, sounds like a good track although only heard once.

Is this not on U.S. iTunes, yet? It is out in the UK (#3 there).

I like this after the second listen. It's not as catchy as "Latch" but I think that's by design. I like that it's simply not a sequel to that. I think this could do reasonably well.
I like the video as well. Sam is looking good. :)

This is boring and the chorus is annoying. Well, you know what they say. Opinions are like buttholes. Everyone has a few. Anyway, this is pretty good and the chorus is great. :)

"Omen" stuck with me more on first listen than "Latch" did. Now that might be because I had never listened to something remotely close to that, or house music for that matter prior to "Latch". In retrospect, I'm really surprised that "Latch" managed to take off and become a smash hit considering it was out of left field, but I'm glad it did.

Their new songs are extremely dull. I donβt hear any progression in their beats and they lack personality.

If you don't find the O-O-O-O-O-O-O-Omen refrain catchy, than you're obviously dead.

I find curious that Sam doesn't appear as featured on the itunes chart.
And yes, releasing the Sam collaboration as first single will bring Latch comparissions but it's a no brainer anyway, it's like expect Mark Ronson to not release the Bruno Mars track as first single. Latch was their only mainstream hit in the USA, Sam is way bigger now that he was then, they mix really well, so this is clearly their best attempt to have another hit. If it will smash or flop we'll see, but it's a collaboration both parts benefit (Sam really needs to be far from ballads for a while, because his label strategy of singles in the USA is terrible, they were able to kill his momentum on radio, something that it seemed impossible)

I find curious that Sam doesn't appear as featured on the itunes chart. Sam has been credited as a featured artist on iTunes, but he wasn't on iTunes North America (Canada, the US and Mexico). However, this was changed and he's credited now there. The main reason why he wasn't on the first place was because the tracklist hasn't been updated there and if you compare the iTunes tracklisting with the other countries, you will find out that some additional tracks from Caracal have been revealed with their featured artists, while it didn't happen with the one posted on iTunes North America so far.

This isn't as catchy as Latch but it's still better than all of Sam's solo singles. The chorus is good.
