^Dude, it's quite extreme to wish something like that. I'm expecting for the coming weeks #1 to be:

03/01: Blank Space
10/01: Blank Space
17/01: Blank Space
24/01: Uptown Funk
31/01: Uptown Funk

Uptown Funk would reign at least for 5 weeks, unless Thinking Out Loud see a huge boost somehow or Adele drop the lead single from her new album. Though I still hope that Take Me To Church and Thinking Out Loud could reach #1, Ed Sheeran deserve that #1 and it will be a nice thing to start the year with a song about eternal love.

In another note, Taylor should make sure she won't be competing against Adele for #1 when she release Style.

Future Captain I think Ed will perform Thinking Out Loud at the Grammys which are on February 8 this year. The airplay for it should be much higher by then so I think the Grammys could be the sales boost he needs to get #1

Well you were saying something about karma for Bruno so it seemed like you're acting as though he deserves to be blocked just because the actions of Taylor's label prevented IKYWT from being #1 two years ago (which mind you I did think it deserved and I was in fact rooting for IKYWT to make it to #1). I could understand your anger towards Bruno if he were to block Taylor due to higher sales and airplay but it's not like he was forcing the label to take IKYWT off Spotify lol. IMO LOOH, IKYWT, BS, and UF are all worthy of #1!

I'm not that sure of Uptown funk will be number one (even when the odds are on its favour). I don't think the sales and airplay are going to peak at the same time, and the callout scores of the song are not exactly great (of course that can change in the following weeks).

With the billboard hot 100 you never know when the next viral video or new sensation is going to appear and block your way to number one.

Blank space is still too strong, so i think it has at least a couple of weeks more under its belt

I'm not that sure, i suppose it depends on streaming. I don't think UF advantage in sales will be enough to overcome Blank Space advantage in airplay

It's a possibility. The song is going to be huge. I think the song airplay will explode in january. It's a question of peaking in airplay and sales at the same time. The song is holding well in sales so there's no reason to believe the sales won't be high with bigger airplay.

I think top 8 are going to stay on the hot 100 top 10 for a good while, Animals and All about that bass will be out of top 10 soon, even when All about that bass (like Shake it off) are benefiting of a rebound in sales (i suppose it's due to end of the year countdowns because Stay with me is higher on sales too)

Swift continues her longest career command with 'Blank Space.' Plus, Mark Ronson's 'Uptown Funk!' crowns Digital Songs.

Taylor Swift's "Blank Space" leads the Billboard Hot 100 for a sixth week, extending her longest stay at No. 1 of her three career leaders. Meanwhile, Mark Ronson's "Uptown Funk!," featuring Bruno Mars, keeps making a play for the summit, taking over atop the Digital Songs chart.

We're guessing that you're a bit busy today, so let's get right to our Wednesday tradition: running down the top 10 and more on the sales/airplay/streaming-based Hot 100.

"Space," released on Big Machine Records and promoted to radio by Republic Records, logs its sixth week at No. 1 on the Hot 100, furthering Swift's longest Hot 100 rule. Her prior single, and second No. 1, "Shake It Off" spent four weeks on top. Swift's first topper, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," led for three weeks in 2012.
"Space" stays atop the Hot 100 powered by its sixth week atop Streaming Songs, with 11.4 million U.S. streams (down 6 percent), according to Nielsen Music. It leads Radio Songs for a second week (144 million in all-format audience, up 5 percent). On Digital Songs, "Space" falls to No. 3 after six weeks at No. 1 with a 9 percent slide to 228,000.

Meanwhile, "Space" -- which was included in the CW's airing of iHeartRadio's "Jingle Ball" concert special on Dec. 18 -- parent album 1989 returns for a sixth week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. (It edged out Nicki Minaj's The Pinkprint, which debuts at No. 2.)

Hozier's "Take Me to Church" tallies a third week at its No. 2 highpoint on the Hot 100. The track tops the subscription services-based On-Demand Songs chart for a sixth week (5 million, down 1 percent); holds at No. 2 on Digital Songs (244,000, up 21 percent); and rises 3-2 on Streaming Songs (9.8 million, up 3 percent) and 9-5 on Radio Songs (91 million, up 17 percent). Greatly helping its cause: Hozier sang "Church" on the Dec. 16 season finale of NBC's The Voice.

On the Hot Rock Songs chart, "Church" dominates for an eighth week.

Mark Ronson on 'Uptown Funk,' New Album Due in January

Ronson's "Funk!" keeps at its No. 3 peak on the Hot 100, surging 3-1 on Digital Songs with a 69 percent blast to 288,000, also aided by his and Mars' performance of the song on the season finale of The Voice. Ronson is the first male soloist to top Digital Songs with a first chart entry (as a lead) since Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" led for two weeks in July. Mars, meanwhile, scores his seventh Digital Songs No. 1, tying him with Britney Spears for fifth place among acts with the most. Rihanna leads with 13, followed by Katy Perry (10) and Eminem and Taylor Swift (nine each).

Ronson and Mars' appearance on The Voice likewise helps spur the song's 15-7 vault on Streaming Songs (7.9 million, up 27 percent) and its 17-11 charge on Radio Songs (63 million, up 28 percent).

"Funk!" claims the Hot 100's three top Gainer awards (Digital, Streaming, Airplay), marking just the fifth title to sweep all three categories in the nearly three years of their side-by-side existence. It joins Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" (Sept. 20); Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" (featuring Charli XCX) (May 17, June 7); Pharrell Williams' "Happy" (March 22); and Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" (featuring Williams and T.I.) (June 22, Aug. 17, 2013). (All four of those songs topped the Hot 100.)

Ed Sheeran shoots 6-4, a new peak, on the Hot 100 with "Thinking Out Loud," another song assisted by the finale of The Voice, on which Sheeran sang the ballad. It bullets for a second week at No. 4 on Digital Songs with a 55 percent increase to 214,000. On Streaming Songs, it bounds 17-8 (7.4 million, up 20 percent) to become his first top 10 on the tally. "Loud" leaps 45-28 in its second week on Radio Songs (39 million, up 41 percent).

Rounding out the Hot 100's top five, Trainor's second top five Hot 100 hit "Lips Are Movin" backtracks 4-5 (after leaping 8-4 last week), but with a bullet. The Dec. 22 birthday girl performed it on -- of course! -- The Voice's season finale. It pushes 5-3 on Streaming Songs (8.6 million, up 9 percent); slips 5-6 on Digital Songs despite a 31 percent gain to 152,000; and climbs 23-18 on Radio Songs (50 million, up 14 percent).


Meanwhile, Trainor's breakthrough smash "Bass" falls 7-10. It led the Hot 100 for eight weeks, around which she wrapped seven weeks at No. 2. As reported in yesterday's "Ask Billboard" reader mailbag, that longevity makes "Bass" one of just six songs in the Hot 100's 56-year history to spend at least 15 weeks in the chart's top two spots (and the first debut hit to do so).

Also in the Hot 100's top 10: Smith's "I'm Not the Only One" backtracks from its No. 5 high to No. 6 (keeping its bullet); Ariana Grande and The Weeknd's "Love Me Harder" returns to its best rank (9-7); Nick Jonas' "Jealous" returns to the region at its peak-to-date (11-8); and Maroon 5's No. 3-peaking "Animals" descends 8-9.

I think chances of Only going top 10 are very little unless it sells a lot. I don't think pop will touch it, and without pop support it's not that easy to go top 10 (apart of selling a lot or having a viral video)

And Blank Space has about 10-15% lead over TMTC...I'm starting to doubt Hozier's chances of being #1 now :'( especially now that Uptown Funk is right behind it and will likely pass it next week...

Madonna Debuts Three Tracks on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart

A trio of tracks from her upcoming 'Rebel Heart' album debut days after their arrival.

Madonna catapults onto Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart with three tracks from her upcoming Rebel Heart album: "Bitch I'm Madonna" (No. 14), "Living for Love" (No. 16) and "Unapologetic Bitch" (No. 26).

The songs, available for instant download upon pre-ordering the album (due March 10) or as a la carte purchases, were made available digitally in a surprise move at midnight on Friday (Dec. 19), following massive demo leaks earlier in the week. (An additional 14 demos leaked on Dec. 23.) The songs soar onto the chart, therefore, on the strength of only a partial week of sales and with only small benefits from other metrics (streaming, radio airplay and club play).

The cuts mark Madonna's first entries on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, which premiered on Jan. 26, 2013.

"Bitch I'm Madonna," featuring Nicki Minaj, leads with sales of 12,000 downloads, according to Nielsen Music. "Living," the album's first proper single, starts with 10,000 sold and "Unapologetic," 7,000. The tracks begin on Dance/Electronic Digital Songs at Nos. 9, 12 and 14, respectively. (She notches her first top 10 on the list, which launched in January 2010.)

Two versions of "Living," the album original and an instrumental, shipped to club DJs on the evening of Dec. 21. Remixes are currently in production and, once approved by Madonna, will be sent out.

Madonna leads all acts with 43 Dance Club Songs No. 1s, with her most recent, "Turn Up the Radio," ruling on Sept. 8, 2012.

Madonna told Billboard on Dec. 21 that "Living" went through more than 10 incarnations during the recording process, including ones with vocals from British singer MNEK. "There will be remixes with MNEK's voice," she confirmed.

As for radio airplay, top 40 has so far not warmed to "Living." It's received a mere 10 plays at the format (through Dec. 23) (led by KMXV Kansas City, which has sampled it three times). Then again, Interscope Records serviced the song at midnight, Monday morning (Dec. 22) as a soft sell. An Interscope source tells Billboard that the label will re-service the song after New Year's and decide on an official "add" date shortly thereafter. (Surely the song's rush-release and Christmas week timing, when many programmers are on vacation, play into radio's general lack of interest in the song do far.)

Madonna last reached the Pop Songs airplay chart in 2012, when "Give Me All Your Luvin' " (featuring Minaj and M.I.A.) and "Girl Gone Wild" reached Nos. 24 and 38, respectively. "Luvin' "was aided by coordinated first-day plays on iHeartMedia-owned stations, as well as Madonna's performance of it during the halftime show at Super Bowl XLVI.

"The reason I wanted to call the record Rebel Heart was because I felt like it explores two very distinct sides of my personality," Madonna says. (The album's buzz spurred Madonna to top the Billboard + Twitter real-time Trending 140 chart on Dec. 22.) "The rebellious, renegade side of me, and the romantic side of me.

"(Fans will) just get my rebellious and romantic side all mixed in together.")

^Indeed, but the thing is, Starship record is in top 10 for 21 consecutive week after debuting there. Note the consecutive, so even if Shake It Off return to top 10 again, it won't count.
