www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2883993/Singer-Joe-Cocker-dies-age-70-battle-lung-cancer.htmlRock star Joe Cocker, best known for his cover of the Beatles' With A Little Help From My Friends, has died aged 70 after a battle with lung cancer. The singer from Sheffield had a career lasting more than 40 years with hits including You Are So Beautiful and Up Where We Belong. His success as a blues and rock singer lasted decades, with his most famous hit, a cover of the Beatles' With a Little Help from My Friends, reaching number one in 1968. He was also known for his version of You Are So Beautiful in 1975 and Up Where We Belong in 1983, a duet with Jennifer Warnes which won a Grammy. In 2007 the rock legend was awarded the OBE for services to the music industry. Sony Music released a statement, confirming Cocker's death. It said: 'John Robert Cocker, known to family, friends, his community and fans around the world as Joe Cocker, passed away on December 22, 2014 after a hard fought battle with small cell lung cancer. Mr. Cocker was 70 years old. 'Joe Cocker was born 5/20/1944 in Sheffield, England where he lived until his early 20s. In 2007 he was awarded the OBE by the Queen of England. 'His international success as a blues/rock singer began in 1964 and continues till this day. Joe created nearly 40 albums and toured extensively around the globe.' His agent Barrie Marshall told the BBC he was 'simply unique' and 'it will be impossible to fill the space he leaves in our hearts'. R.I.P.

My favorite Joe Cocker song is Unchain My Heart. Although I love Up Where We Belong cuz it went to #1 and it's a great sappy song. R.I.P.

RIP. He took a Beatles track to another level, and that track gained even more notoriety as the theme to The Wonder Years.
