Something to start the new year off with :) i figure this can be a daily thing and that we could get some interesting facts considering how many knowledgable people are at Pulse.
Janurary 1st
1953 - Hank Williams is pronounced dead at Oak Hills General Hospital in Oak Hill, West Virginia. He was on his way to a show in Canton, Ohio when he passed away in the backseat of a cadillac
1959 - Johnny Cash preforms a live show at San Quentin. A 19 year old Merle Haggard was present in the audience and later claims this show as one of his influences
2000 - Jamey Johnson moves to Nashville after fearing that a Y2K computer glitch will upend society. Johnson states "if the world is going to hell, I'm going to Nashville to sing about it"
2011 - Shania Twain marries Frederic Thiebaud in Rincon, Puerto Rico
- Kellie Pickler marries Kyle Jacobs in the Carribean

Great idea, Zack. Completely forgot that today is the anniversary of Hank Williams death. He's been dead for over 60 years. How crazy is that?

1926- Guitarist, Harold Bradley is born in Nashville. His playing on hits by Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Conway Twitty, and Loretta Lynn eventually garnered him a spot in the Country Music Hall Of Fame
1936- Roger Miller is born in Fort Worth, Texas. Raised in Erick, Oklahoma, Miller was famous for his humor and hits such as "Chug-A-Lug", "King Of The Road", and "Dang Me" among others
1974- Singer/actor Tex Ritter dies just 10 days before his 69th birthday
1975- Austin City Limits premieres on PBS with Willie Nelson as the first featured guest
1993- Garth Brooks sits at #1 on the Country Music album charts with his fourth studio album, "The Chase"
1997- Faith Hill goes 2x Platinum with her album "It Matters To Me"
2009- Merle Haggard earns a star on the Bakersfield Walk Of Fame outside the Fox Theater

1975- John Denver's "Back Home Again" is certified gold.
1999- Lee Ann Womack and record producer Frank Liddell have a daughter, Anna Lise Liddell in Nashville, Tennessee
