Michael Webb Pierce (August 8, 1921 – February 24, 1991) was one of the most popular American honky tonk, rockabilly vocalists, guitarists of the 1950s, charting more number one hits than any other country artist during the decade.
His biggest hit was "In the Jailhouse Now," which charted for 37 weeks in 1955, 21 of them at number one. Pierce also charted number one for several weeks' each with his recordings of "Slowly" (1954), "Love, Love, Love" (1955), "I Don't Care" (1955), "There Stands the Glass" (1953), "More and More" (1954), "I Ain't Never" (1959), and his first number one "Wondering," which stayed at the top spot for four of its 27 weeks' charting in 1952.

Yup for the chart that that update corresponds to Tim jumped from #4 to #1. There's 10 points gained for the top 3 positions + 1 for the week. Then add in the Big & Rich duet which I forgot to include in the previous update so I fixed it here.

Kenny didn't notch any new milestone other than one week which is worth 1 point.

It's crazy that with all of her #1s, Underwood is only #80. More so I think it shows how country artists have long careers with lots of hits. In almost any other genre more than 10 #1s would be like top 20.

Carrie Underwood has appeared on the country chart 45 times between 2005-present. She has 15 #1s and 7 #2s to her credit. That she made the top 100 in slightly less than a decade is spectacular unto itself. Of course, if she did not amass all of those #2s, she would be higher on that list. She just started her second decade in the business. If she keeps on getting those top three hits (on country airplay), she will break the top 50. I could possibly see her finishing no less than top 30 if her career keeps going the way it has been. Now, take George Jones for example. He has 14 #1s to his credit, but has managed to place 145 top 40 hits. He is sitting at #3 on the all-time list because of his numerous chart appearances between the 1950s-2000s. Look at how many #1s Conway Twitty has (40). Yet, he is at #5 on the list.

That's all my point. Artists are top 10 for the all-time Hot 100 with a lot less. It's crazy the longevity country artists have.
