This peaked at #6 on both R&R and Billboard Country Charts in mid July of the year 2000. It was a cover of the Statler Brothers. It was a risky choice for a debut single but Eric owned it, creating a version that seemed more dark and moody than other versions (the way it is supposed to be). Sadly it was his only big hit as the two followups from his record missed the top 30. Eric and his label, Mercury Nashville, parted ways shortly after. Here is his first single that proves that Eric was a talent that the country genre should not have let go
