No thread for this? :o
It was originally recorded and released by country artist, John Michael Montgomery, hitting #1 on the Hot Country Songs chart and #43 on the Hot 100 in 1994. A few months later, All-4-One's cover went to #1 on the Hot 100, #2 in the UK and peaked at #1 CHR/Pop. I love this song.

If I never hear another All-4-One song again, I will be happy. My mom LOVED them when they were out and played them to death (especially "I Can Love You Like That").
My memory is hazy, but I remember this blocking songs I liked way more from #1. Can't remember what they were though.

It blocked 3 songs from #1: "I'll Remember" by Madonna, "Any Time, Any Place" by Janet Jackson, and "Regulate" by Warren G & Nate Dogg.
IMO, this is one of the worst #1 songs of the 90s.

I remember I'll Remember being stuck at #2 while I Swear was at the top. I think this was Madonna's first single to chart after her infamous David Letterman visit.

Definitely among the worst, on par with the likes of Ice Ice Baby, I'm Too Sexy, Macarena, Wannabe etc. All those 3 songs that were blocked by it are much better, especially Regulate. Someday from The Hunchback of Notre Dame is also a much more decent track.by All-4-One.

"I'll Remember" did hit #1 at R&R, to be followed by this for two weeks. Ace of Base's "Don't Turn Around" then displaced it.
I thought this was OK: pleasant, but not very interesting or exciting. However, I would probably have disliked it more if it had been out several years later (about 1997-2000), when there were IMO too many "boy bands" that sounded similar to this.

I liked it when it was out. "So Much In Love" is better than this.

I like it. For some reason I don't remember this song at all in the 90's though... I'm pretty sure I discovered it last year when I watched the movie Just Friends.

I hated this song when I was younger, likely due to overplay. All over the place on my 3 AC/adult top 40 stations (Lite FM 93.9, 100.3, and 101.9 the mix) and rhythmic top 40 (b96).

Can anyone help identify the difference between the album version and remix edit on the single?
I'm stumped!
Thanks!
