Wow. I knew there would be at least one more single from this album but I thought for sure it would be either "What You Do To Me" or "Stop Drop + Roll".
I was one of the few who wasn't surprised at all about "Show You Off" being the second single since that was the song Dan + Shay seemed to showcase the most on their radio tour other than the debut single, but this decision is a bit of a surprise.

Yeah this single selection makes no sense. This is a decent song, but if they want to make a dent on the radio, then "What You Do To Me" or "Stop Drop + Roll" are way more catchier and memorable. I'm already fearing that these two could become forgotten.

LOL are you kidding me? "What You Do To Me" was such an obvious, sure fire hit. I'm dumbfounded that it won't see the light of day at radio. *facepalm*

I haven't heard this song or the fan favorite one they apparently overlooked yet (just the first two singles), but I feel like the reactions to this remind me of when Eli Young Band released "Say Goodnight."

"Say Goodnight". :) That one IMO was one of the real single decision shockers over the past 5 years.

Definitely surprised it's not "What You Do To Me" or "Stop Drop + Roll", my favorites after "19 You + Me" and the surefire hits, but this is my next favorite so I'll still be glad to hear it on the radio.
This more than likely won't smash though. I expect a peak in the Top 40, maybe scraping the Top 30.

Why??? What You do to Me or First Time Feeling were the best options here. Not that I dislike this song by any means. I totally support and want it to do well but I'm not very sure that it well.

I wonder if "What You Do to Me" received some sort of negative feedback from radio, because that and "Show You Off" were the two songs released to iTunes before the album's release, which usually indicates the label's plans for singles. (For example, Cole Swindell, another Warner artist, released "Hope You Get Lonely Tonight" and "Ain't Worth the Whiskey" to iTunes early, and those two ended up being the next two singles.) I agree that WYDTM sounds like an obvious hit and it's crazy to pass that up as a single, but it's really hard to miss with an album as full of radio-friendly material as Dan + Shay's. "Show You Off" was actually one of the most forgettable songs on the album, and this one is less forgettable but still not one of the big highlights of the album.
I can still see "Nothin' Like You" being a solid top 20 hit. Radio and listeners both showed a lot of enthusiasm for the duo. "19 You + Me" ran into bad timing on the chart, getting passed up by about six really big hits right outside the top 10, which caused it to get lost in the shuffle and miss the top 10 after a very steady climb. "Show You Off" was in my opinion a poor single choice and the iTunes sales turned out to be rather mediocre, so with all the new artists trying to break I can see why radio might have gone with other songs to play over "Show You Off." But I do have a feeling a lot of radio stations will get behind this and it will at least peak higher than "Show You Off." Whether this becomes Dan + Shay's first top 10 will depend on how strong research and sales are, though.

You know, after listening to this song a few times. It strikes me as the right choice for the third single. The melody is infectious and the production (by Chris DeStefano BTW) is absolutely perfect it. This has a very radio friendly mid-tempo that feels like a modern country song. "Stop Drop+Roll" and "What You Do To Me" feel a bit like "Show You Off." If this doesn't take 30 weeks to get to a peak, I can see them going with "What You Do To Me" or "First Time Feeling" to close out the album. There's something about "Nothing Like You" that feels right and is a clear standout from the record.
Songwriters: Dan Smyers, Shay Mooney, Ashley Gorley, Chris DeStefano). It's also the only song on the record NOT produced by Smyers.

I'm just not a fan of this Pop Duo or this song quite frankly. They aren't breaking any new ground with this one and it sounds more like something that should be on a Disney Movie Soundtrack more so than Country radio.

Okay, now that I've calmed down about the fact that "What You Do To Me" is not the next single, I can realistically comment on this.
So, I actually think that, other than "What You Do To Me", this was the best choice for the 3rd single. It really is a fantastic song (their whole album is great) and I hope it does a bit better than "Show You Off" did. Looking back, I'm actually pretty surprised that SYO didn't do better, but I think it mostly just got lost in the shuffle when it was in the 20s and then just got too old to become a bigger hit. Like I've said before, these guys seem like they're a lot bigger than radio has treated them with their two singles, so hopefully that'll give them enough momentum to get this to a high enough peak so that "What You Do To Me" can be released as a 4th single :) (Okay, I'm still quite a bit bitter about it)

"Nothin' Like You" is the second most added song on MB this week with 34 adds and 37 stations total for week #1.

Good grief. "Nothin' Like You" gained 2.8 million on MB this week, and it's all due to Westwood One as 2.2 of it is from them alone. They bumped "Nothin' Like You" up from 5 spins to 23 spins over the past seven days.
Because of that. "Nothin' Like You" jumps six spots to #39 on MB this week, leaping Kacey, Mo, Gary, Lady A and Parmalee in the process.

I like the song. I'm not a fan of their vocals, although they are amazing vocalists. Loved the ACM performance with Nick Jonas tonight. It will be interesting to see how this song plays out on the charts and at radio.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of impact their ACM performance has on this, since I really feel like all the buzz/hype for this duo that they accrued from "19 You + Me" had really died off. Despite feeling that there were at least half-a-dozen more worthy performers to get the opportunity they got with a performance slot on the ACMs and that Nick Jonas was a head-scratching collaborator, I thought that it worked surprisingly well. I really enjoyed it for what it was, even though I fully believe that it didn't belong on that stage.

Dan + Shay said on The Highway this afternoon that "Nothin' Like You" was the last song written for their debut album. They had already submitted the other 11 songs to Warner Music Nashville and wrote that song afterwards. Once they made the demo of the song, their friends said it had to be on the album. So the label did just that.
They also said it was released because it was the album track that had been getting the biggest reaction at their live shows.

No ones played this one yet locally which is odd. Bob Kingsley is the only place I've heard it yet.

I must admit, I thought this song was a little underwhelming when I first heard it but it has grown on me immensely since then; so much so that its now one of my favorite songs charting. The chorus is so infectious and has a certain charisma about it that makes me sing along to it whenever I hear it.
Westwood One and KSCS in Dallas are really helping this one out on MB. Both stations have accounted nearly 4.0 million of "Nothin' Like You's" audience the past seven days, which is nearly 40% of its total audience, lol.
